quote: I'm lucky I still had time to get acquainted with the headphones and Makhambetov Bukeyhanovymi, Cali Zhantleuovym, Dina Nurpeisova dombra player, and many others, faithfully preserved in the remote villages folk music. I still managed to hear kobyz weapons steppe bucks. Horsehair made it sound mute, muffled, mystic.Bucks knew his mysterious power. "This music, I took a loan from the people" A wonderful musician, entered the history of our culture as the creator of the Kazakh school of composition, strict, demanding and soul cares for each of their students teacher, Evgenii was a lively and witty storyteller ... Kanabek Bajseitov, People's Artist of Kazakh SSR, one of the founders of Kazakh theater: "New Opera" Kyz Zhibek "Brusilov offered the People's Commissar of Education of Kazakhstan Temirbek Zhurgenov. Summoned him for a long time, enthusiastically telling the contents of this beloved legend in the desert. Then he said, that appointed him editor of the newly created state of Kazakh musical theater, and gave "good" for vysokotvorcheskuyu, the immediate job. "Use for future opera collection assembled Zataevich" 1000 Songs of the Kazakh people. " In addition, we have a lot of singers, whose repertoire of 10-12 songs still unknown, it is desirable to listen to them all. What you need, then choose. Just write us a good opera, "- he ended the conversation, went to a phone call from the director of the theater Zhumatov Shanin, declared that music" Kyz Zhibek "will write Brusilovsky, and asked for three days to prepare his libretto in Russian. Get this opera Zhurgenov had by all means and as soon as possible. In the newly born theater was still the only show - a musical comedy Kotsyka IV and SI Shabelski play by Mukhtar Auezov "Aiman-Sholpan." And although she was a great success, build on the work it was, of course, impossible. Needed new plays, at least one - the anniversary of the Great October Revolution! But because of their experience in creating no-one had the appearance arrived in the capital of Kazakhstan, at the request of Ahmet Zhubanov energetic young graduate of the Leningrad Conservatory (class of Professor Maximilian Steinberg famous) appeared almost salvation. " *** The newspaper "Pravda", May 1936: "On May 17 at the scene branch Bolshoi Theater in Moscow opened the Decade of

Kazakh art. For the first time in front of the audience voiced the Kazakh National Opera" Kyz Zhibek. "It is as shown followed by the" Zhalbyr ", written by Eugene Brusilovsky. Musicians present at performances and eagerly listened to every musical phrase, catch every bar and were amazed at the wealth of melodies unfolding before the listener endless belt 75 in the "Kyz Zhibek" and over 40 in the "Zhalbyr" musical numbers. They varied melodic, all catchy. Yes, on this basis should grow a great musical culture! Incidentally, the work of the composer Brusilovsky highly instructive for our youth. Two and a half years ago, this young musician went on the initiative of the Leningrad Composers' Union in Kazakhstan, and there found his calling. Brusilovsky safely applied to Kazakh music and European art instrumentation, harmony, and did the right thing. " *** Alexei Tolstoy, writer, 1937: "We have a tour in Leningrad Opera and Ballet Kazgosteatr from Alma-Ata. The bills three operas:" Er-Targyn "," Kyz Zhibek "and" Zhalbyr "and they are all of our Leningrad - composer Eugene Brusilovsky. Well, say? theater in front of me - and something more than a theater. opens his eyes. trustingly, with gratitude, with enthusiasm. Disclosed something with which we perceive the truly rare, golden art. Movement of the actors, their dances, their facial expressions - with ineffable grace a century of pride. Believe it, believe me. Here there is beauty, there is strength and youth conviction here is that European cities have wasted and lost, than to miss the best people - about the gold, the young, the boiling blood of art. This is the answer all on the other side lies the world of the USSR solving the problem of human happiness. It is our national pride. " *** Eugene Brusilovsky: "In those years, leading representatives of the Kazakh Soviet literature were considered Saken Seifullin, Ilyas Zhansugurov, Beimbet Myleene, Sabit Mukanov and Gabit Musrepov and Mukhtar Auezov gravitated over five years probation after release from prison. Saken Seifullin was not only the first Kazakh Soviet writer. He was the first chairman of the CPC of the Republic, the first editor of the Kazakh Soviet republic newspaper, in general, one of the founders of the Soviet regime in Kazakhstan. It was a beautiful, imposing man kinogenichnoy exterior with black mustache drooping down in Kazakh, proudly planted his head leisurely and confident gait of a man who has a great sense of dignity. He liked to exhibit their beautiful appearance and so is watching the elegance of his costume, which was always immaculately neat and ironed. For all other virtues Seifullin well played lute in vostochnokazahstanskoy manner, and loved to sing their songs . I once led visit with Gabit Musrepov in his house on the corner of Marks and Vinogradov. After a hearty meal and a good tea with milk Sacken to his own accompaniment on the lute sang some songs. Lacking the big vocal, however, he could

sing expressively and with good taste. From the standpoint of Kazakh musical aesthetics, strong and bright voice is appreciated, of course, very high, but it is not important. The most valuable - a national style of singing. Singer with sick chords, singing hoarsely, but incharacteristic of the Kazakh manner of sound production may have much greater success than the student-vocalist of the conservatory with a professionally delivered voice. Kazakh folk song, performed by a professional singer who is deprived of half of the national beauty and character. " *** Eugene Brusilovsky: "Auezov was a man of unusual. He was the head of a thinker, philosopher, the Arab East. Determine its national identity on its external data was difficult. He was equally similar and Arabs, and Uzbeks, Kazakhs and on. If Sabit Mukanov or Saken Seifullin had pronounced Kazakh appearance, the appearance of Mukhtar Auezov was eastcollecting, oriental in general. This man was a charming mind, encyclopedic knowledge, high oriental culture. Chatting with him was always a combination of business with pleasure. It was an Oriental slowly, the words were accurate and reserved, had not the slightest conceit or complacency, but the other person feel dropout trying to talk on equal terms. respectfulness outer thin, in good oriental style emphasized the inequality of the interlocutors. After many trials and tribulations of life in the sixties Auezov it all he could wish for. recognition, fame, money, decent kids. But he was a man easily vulnerable, and the slightest trouble could take it out of balance. He always had regular opponents, systematically spoil his nervous system, right or wrong critical assaults, biased accusations or simply an expression of distrust. " *** Eugene Brusilovsky: "It was in 1937. It was a year of ruthless, systematic extermination of intellectuals. The apartments in our" home experts "every night lose their hosts - instead, there dwell the people easier. Every night, people lived in a state of panic out knocking at the door. In the nervous , a disturbing situation for us to organize a friendly company to the home card games in the "ninth wave" ... It was a logical way out of this situation. Every Saturday, we met each other in the house, one by one. The company consisted of five couples: Mukhtar Auezov Valentina Nikolaevna, Gabit Musrepov with Husni, Hamza Esenzhanov with Saniey, Kanabek Baiseitov with Kulash and I with Anna Dmitrievna. They gathered at 8 pm and immediately began to play. Then the game was interrupted, a table for dinner is served, followed by a break in a warm conversation , gossip and rumors break. During this time the table is removed and we again sat down to play cards. Game interrupted footsteps on the stairs, all froze in suspense - will carry or not ... Valentina, already having the experience, pre-cooked for Mukhtar Omarkhanovich handy little basket, which was all that is required prisoner. The basket stood at the ready in the hall. And yet, our "feast during the plague," did not end

completely happily. Chuma his black wing grazed Hamza Esenzhanova. He returned after 20 years. Sonia courageous wife, all suffered, made all, she raised children, has kept the family home and waited and finally the return of her husband. " *** Eugene Brusilovsky: "Among my students, especially dear to me Quddus Kuzhamyarov. He appeared unexpectedly in my 20 years in the Asian kid galoshes on his bare feet. Father he was gone, and his mother worked as a cleaner in the same Muzdramtehnikume, where he studied piano department. He said he wanted to become a composer, so he decided to apply to me. At the piano for twenty years he has played very important. In this area, he obviously is nothing good in sight. But the songwriting abilities have convinced me, and I was with him a little to do. So way, there was a young man who decides to become the first in the history of his people Uyghur composer. I am very interested in this prospect. From a young age he was distinguished by discipline, commitment, lack of youthful frivolity and common weaknesses. He did not try to smoke, not indulged in wine, do not know any temptations in life. In the most difficult conditions of life he lost heart, never complained and continued to work in an organized and successful. Mother and son lived on the meager salary of a cleaner in a typical "staroalma Ata skyscraper." It was a handmade clay dug from the small windows at ground level. The roof of reeds and grasses flowed constantly, and water seeped in the earthen floor. Postarinke mother wanted his son to put all this impoverished art, and like all his peers, trading at the market, then would marry a rich girl Uighur dowry and would be a solid man. But Quddus not give up: starved, wore old patched things and continued to work persistently making their way to the target. As a result, he obtained the right to go to the Moscow Conservatory and entered into it. But the Great Patriotic War, and he was in the army. From there, Quddus wrote me with his crooked slanted handwriting fiery letters in which assured that once the war ends, he will again engage with me song. Asked him to have booked a place in the conservatory, as the Nazis soon finally be broken, and he returned home in Alma-Ata. It has been 10 years, and now Kuzhamyarov Quddus - a student of the 5th year of our conservatory. Performed at the show of Moscow in his poem for orchestra, "Rizvana" was awarded the Stalin Prize in 1950. Kuzhamyarov became the first Uighur professional composer, whose work has received such high recognition. " *** Ilyas Omarov, Minister of Culture of the Kazakh SSR: "On the basis of folk songs and kyuis was further developed skills of the Kazakh people. On the basis of folk songs created Brusilovsky first Kazakh operas. One of them -" Kyz

Zhibek "- noted the January 27, 1968 anniversary - th performance. This is rarely the case even in countries with advanced professional art. And I do not agree with those who believe that Brusilovsky took everything ready for the establishment of Kazakh operas. True, he turned and heavily used Kazakh folk songs, developing their symphonically, making his first "Kyz Zhibek "" Er-Targyn "and" Zhalbyr "undying treasures Kazakh scene. This technique subsequently ensured the success of this opera, and works as" Birzhan and Sarah ', "Abai", "Qamar Sulu." *** Gulfairus Ismailov, the national artist of RK: "In 70 years I was the chief artist of the Opera and Ballet named after Abay, and one of my first productions was" Er-Targyn. "Brusilov himself, the author of Opera in the city then was not, and I was afraid of meeting him. Man He was strict and demanding. But then he looked at the performance and said he was very pleased. By the time the theater's repertoire has included ballet and Eugene G. "Goat-Korpesh and Bayan-Sulu" and he made a special trip from Leningrad to his statement. It was the first Kazakh classical ballet. his music is incredibly beautiful, and everyone worked enthusiastically. Of course, we're not just talking about with Evgenii design performance. But when I tried to show he has specific designs, he hesitated: "Do not bother, I ask you . I believe that everything will be like "- and the conversation with" Russian Seasons "Diaghilev, my teacher from Leningrad, who, it turns out, he knew well. Whether to change it something along the way in the score of the ballet? I do not remember this. But I really like the fact that he is serious and kind to the Kazakh melodies. When he was told that he beautifully interprets it, he replied: "This music is I take a loan from the people." Like the miner of ore, he developed the pristine reservoirs, extracting from them true treasures. An example of his show, how to approach the interpretation of folk music, as to clothe it in a classical form. The arrival of it in our national art - this phenomenon. I say this with confidence because I had the fortune to see it myself, for specific productions ". *** Eugene Brusilovsky: "I'm lucky I still had time to get acquainted with the headphones and Makhambetov Bukeyhanovymi, Cali Zhantleuovym, Dina Nurpeisova dombra player, and many others, faithfully preserved in the remote villages folk music. I still managed to hear kobyz weapons steppe bucks. Horsehair made it sound mute- muffled, mystical. Bucks knew his mysterious power. kobyz Inside, on the back, they attached a mirror, and the head decorated with owl feathers beam. yurts in the dark mirror shone on the trivet reddish color, kobyz singing their ancient, howling song, heart-rending voice shouted bucks their incantations: "Nak! Nak ", and the feathers of owls beginning to stir his cry and tremble. Such action is suppressed psyche simple, naive steppe and dictated to him the will of higher powers, which he had to obey blindly. In the hands of the same simple musicians kobyz sing a sad song of the Kazakh people, nomadic over a vast steppes in search of

happiness Countries - Jer uyuk. In general, the nature of his kobyz sound was like a pessimistic tool. Another thing - dombra. All of the musical and aesthetic questions of the people turned to her. And it is in the hands of talented and often brilliant folk musicians know how bright and fun to answer these questions. Kazakh folk music, instrumental and vocal, very rich. And to talk about it a little, enough to write a thick book. And that more or less fully tell you about the music of each of the three zhuzs to do a great multi-volume study. It would be very interesting, very informative and very valuable work. Out in the history of the nomadic people, radically changed people's way of life.Saryarka a different, modern Kazakh horse vehicle should be, the microphone is stronger than any voice, and the names of all the wonderful musicians of the past are gradually falling asleep sand years to come. And if we do not address this important matter, then, and very soon will be too late. However, nobody can decide on such a feat. All musicologists prefer to pustovatym theorizing or blunt ethnography. Such naked ethnography was relevant 30-50 years ago, and now ethnography should be more scientific, more deeply and historical. Need some work on Birzhane, Muhite, etc., as the head of a future great historical and ethnographic work. " __The creator of the anthem and not only ... On the 100th anniversary of the E. Brusilovsky If Aleksandr Zataevich we must preserving the best examples of Kazakh folklore, Evgenii Brusilov then - that he opened their spiritual potential, raising them up to the masterpieces of world music. May God forgive me reader "red tape", but in these jubilee celebrations would like to list directly on the main points of what has made a native of Rostov-on-Don Brusilovsky for our country: 1. He is a founder of the Kazakh National Opera and the author of the best examples of "Kyz Zhibek", "Zhalbyr", "Er-Targyn", "Aiman-Sholpan" and the summit of creation "Duda's paradise." It is sad to realize that the last named operator is not put today because of its revolutionary content, which is now in vogue. 2. His third symphony "Sary-Arka" paved the way for Kazakh symphonic (in this genre to Brusilovsky in our country no one of which did not write). 3. He created the first samples of Kazakh chamber music - a great piano and violin loops. Suite "Bozaygyr" has become an ornament repertoire of every violinist giving concerts. 4. Processed for voice and piano countless Kazakh folk songs, making them accessible to the serious concert stage. 5. He created his own songs in Kazakh style, among which are such gems as "Two Swallows", "Saira", "Sholpan." By the way, the last song written in verse of our countryman, a native of Pavlodar region Nutfully Shakenova, not so long ago, it

translated into Russian Zhasulan Sadykov - for singer Andrew Korchevsky. 6. Brusilovsky is one of the main authors of the Hymn of the Republic of Kazakhstan (the main musical theme and the overall musical version belong to him). 7. He created the Union of Composers of Kazakhstan and was its first chairman. 8. He founded the department of composition at the Alma-Ata State Conservatory. All of the outstanding composers of Kazakhstan - a Brusilovsky students or students of his students. It was he, Brusilovsky, "discovered" by an unknown Mukan Tulebaev and helped him to write an opera "Birzhan and Sarah": put in order the melodic material is talented, but who had not yet conservatory education composer, has created a musical drama and performed all the orchestration. 9. Brusilovsky was the first who took the name of rehabilitation genius Kurmangazy, reputed to be in the Kazakh steppe "unmanageable robber." The popularity of music Kurmangazy in our time, assign it the name of Alma-Ata Conservatory - one of the greatest merits of Eugene G.. 10. Brusilovsky trained a galaxy of Kazakh singers, including legendary Kulash Baiseitova. I am convinced that not all listed. But the above items are enough to assess whether stepped forward professional musical art in Kazakhstan thanks to the creative and social activities, Brusilovsky, whose centenary was celebrated on November 12. *** In the early 50-ies, I had the great fortune to communicate with Evgenii. Within a half years, I brought him home on Stalin Street (now Avenue Abylai Khan, there is now a memorial plaque) their timid composer opus, and he, regardless of the time, carefully and completely unselfishly worked with me. One of his postcards sent to me by mail, still have in my home archive, as a sacred relic ... I remember once I asked him not just a clever question: - Eugene G., and why you stopped writing Russian music? He looked sternly at me and stammered badly (he always stuttered when I started to worry), said: - I have put his own personal destiny into the destiny of Kazakh culture. ... Brusilov was completely alien to arrogance, which, alas, very typical of many professional musicians, looking down on creation of talented amateurs. Constantly advocating the improvement of professional skills of his students, he nevertheless believed that the most important works of a composer - is primarily a talent and a

general cultural development. Plus, of course, the personal qualities of the soul. This he writes in his "Five notebooks," published in "Plenty" (1997, 9). "Is music education makes a composer a professional? Did the composer, who graduated from the conservatory, there can be a cheerleader? And finally, how people's musician, who has spent all his life and musical creativity reached a high, virtuosic level playing lute and created magnificent examples dombra music, glittering with genuine professionalism and keen understanding of the original genre - is a figure of a cheerleader? " In this statement - the whole Brusilovsky, can not stand "naked" without a professional psychic addiction to art. ... Once, when speaking in the Pavlodar College of Music, Yermek Serkebaev said: - Brusilovsky - this is our father. We only need to remember the wise saying: "Honor your father." H.
