UNDER NEW CONFIGURATION
The organization of Latin America’s largest business aviation fair has changed. In 2018, the Y-arrangement of the static exhibition and the access to the covered pavilion at the two ends of a circuit allowed the visitors to walk more comfortably through the LABACE corridors. Although being more compact, the new configuration opened space for the creation of a pavilion with a centered stage where the organizers made a series of lectures addressing the sector capacity, highlighting themes such as piracy (in the hiring of charter flights, maintenance completion and spare parts supply) and the aeromedical service.
OPPORTUNITY
The event brought excitement to sales teams, keeping an eye on the opportunity to talk directly with those who decide the purchase of jets, turboprops, piston aircrafts and helicopters. Even in view of the uncertainty left by political and economic issues of Brazil, manufacturers are confident in Latin America’s potential market. Such optimism is expressed in the presence of great novelties in the 2018 edition, such as the Gulfstream G600 and the Citation Longitude, which are at the last stage of certification, but they already were with the interior complete being offered to Brazilian customers.
Flavio Pires, CEO of the Brazilian Association of General Aviation (ABAG), commemorated the arrival of new exhibitors, such as the Chinese from AVIC, who promoted two turboprops of the brand, the Y-12F and the Y1-2E, both FAR Part 23, equipped with the traditional PWC PT-6, addressing both the regional and business aviation markets. “We had nearly 20 percent new exhibitors” says Pires. “With
