About this audiobook
LAPD Detective Harry Bosch as we've never seen him before, in three never-before-collected stories.
In "Suicide Run," the apparent suicide of a beautiful young starlet turns out to be much more sinister than it seems. In "Cielo Azul," Bosch is haunted by a long-ago closed case -- the murder of a teenage girl who was never identified. As her killer sits on death row, Bosch tries one last time to get the answers he has sought for years. In "One Dollar Jackpot," Bosch works the murder of a professional poker player whose skills have made her more than one enemy.
Whether investigating a cold case or fresh blood, Bosch relentlessly pursues his quarry, always on the lookout for the "tell." In this first collection of Harry Bosch stories, Michael Connelly once again demonstrates that he is the master of "fast-paced, brilliantly plotted crime fiction.... Harry Bosch is back on the case, and not a moment too soon" (Chicago Sun Times).

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This short story collection, quickly read, is an excellent reminder of what is so good about the Harry Bosch stories.SUICIDE RUN is the perfect illustration of the fact that Harry Bosch always picks up more from a crime scene than others do. Great story.CIELO AZUL is written in the first person, Harry Bosch's point of view. He shows how he never achieves closure if he can't give a murder victim a name. Again a great story.ONE DOLLAR JACKPOT - this one is more a novella in length and structure. Harry Bosch has a gut feeling about this one but lacks proof. It demonstrates how often his gut feelings are right. This is a really quick read, if you are looking for one, but still gives you some essential Harry Bosch.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5While on the waiting list for The Drop I decided to get my Harry Bosch fix with this collection of short stories. These were a good filler since I have missed Harry it will be great to read a Harry Bosch book not a Mickey Haller book with a cameo by Harry. In one story there is even a nod to Terry McCaleb.I listened to this on audio narrated by, Len Cariou who is and always will be the voice of Harry Bosch for me, however I have to say Len's age is starting to show in his voice but I wouldn't want anyone else as the voice of Harry. On to the other short story book Angle of Investigation so my review of that one may be similar to this one.Good book to get your Harry fix.4 stars
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Harry the detective keeps things clear and keeps me keen to see how he resolves the case
I like that Harry has a teenage daughter which makes him human not some ‘out there’ super human
And that conclusions are clear
I guess I feel like I’m playing the part with Harry - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Three solid Harry Bosch stories, just too short! Were these story lines that never resulted in full blown novels? As a dedicated Connelly fan, I probably can never get enough.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Two and a half Harry Bosch stories -- two are great and reflect his greatness as reflected through the author. Great whodunits. I was a little peeved that the third read/listen was just the first few chapters of another book. I hate it when they do that!
