About this audiobook

First in the Drake Sisters series from the "reigning queen of the paranormal romance"--#1 New York Times bestselling author of the Carpathian and Sea Haven novels.

The story of Sarah, the eldest of the extraordinary-and magical-Drake sisters, now rewritten and expanded, in this very special collector's edition…

"Sarah Drake has come home." Ever since Damon Wilder sought refuge in Sea Haven, he's heard the same breathless rumor pass the lips of nearly every local in the sleepy coastal town. Even the wind seems to whisper her name-a reverie so powerfully suggestive that it carries the curious Damon to Sarah's clifftop home, and seeks to shelter him there.

But Damon has not arrived alone. A killer has tracked him to Sea Haven, and into the shadows of Drake House. But Sarah has her own secrets, and danger-as well as a desire more urgent than either has ever known-is just a whisper away…

I’m not sure why I read the sample chapter of this, but I did read it and was hooked. It is a several volume series about seven sisters with magic. The wind whispering Sarah’s name caught the attention of Damon, a man in part retirement part hiding. It turns out Sarah is there to protect Damon from people that want government secrets from him. As the story progresses you find out a bit more about her family and some of her sisters. I’ll probably read the next few to see how it goes.

I just love Christine Feehan for she is such a great author.... This book was simple as befits a short story but it introduces to yet another collection of mystical characters and am magical family that you can easily caught up with. There is no way I will give be giving up this author anytime soon.

It's been many years since I re-read this novella. I remember liking it, but not really loving it, the first time around. I have to say that's still the way I feel. Though I enjoyed quite a bit of it, I didn't absolutely adore it.

One of my biggest problems was the inconsistent way Sarah acted. she was supposedly a bodyguard, one of the best in security, but she often deferred to Damon, the man she was supposed to be protecting. Similarly, Damon knew he needed protection but refused to accept it from Sarah, because she was a woman.

Otherwise I did enjoy their relationship. They worked well together outside of their professions. I liked that both Damon and Sarah really cared about the other, wanting them to be happy and needing to be near one another.

The suspense plot was just ok. Considering the page count, I suppose I can't complain too much, but I would have liked to see things explored a bit more on that end.

MAGIC IN THE WIND is a 103-page story that kicks off Christine Feehan's Drake Sisters series. I first read this a long, long time ago, before I even knew what a book blog was. :-)This book introduces the Drake family, a tight-knit group of seven sisters with awesome magical abilities, powers to control earth, water and air. Though we get to meet a few of the sisters in this book, MAGIC IN THE WIND is Sarah's story.Sarah is the eldest sister, and she's come home to Sea Haven on a special assignment for work. Her path crosses with the new man in town, brooding and reclusive Damon Wilder. Damon's in hiding from terrorists who nearly killed him months before, leaving him badly injured instead. Neither Sarah nor Damon is interested in a romantic involvement, but Drake family magic has other plans in mind.I enjoyed this book and thought it was an intriguing opening for the series. Though short, it's packed with romance, suspense and magic, three of my favorites! Damon and Sarah had a serious case of insta-love, and I thought their relationship could have been developed more. Of course, the speed of their attraction could be blamed on magic, so I'll let it slide. ;-)I'm in love with the setting of this series - Sea Haven, a small town on the Northern California Coast. It's described as such a magical place, fitting for these seven sisters! I'm looking forward to re-reading the next in the series, The Twilight Before Christmas, just in time for the holidays.

I enjoyed this book, especially the Drake sisters. The author's style of writing personal relationship was excellent. My only complaint with the book was that it was very short. A bit to short for a first book in a series. Over a great read for the beach.

Magic in the Wind is the first book in the Drake Sisters series by Christine Feehan. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with Magic in the Wind . Magic in the Wind is different then most books Christine Feehan writes. It is missing her gothic flavor and there are no vampires, but it introduces seven sisters with special magical talents. Magic in the Wind is a combination of romance, mystery, and magic. Military defense systems expert Damon hides from the threats to his life. But Sarah and her sisters use their "special powers" in an effort to save his life. Magic in the Wind is also about the love affair that ensues between Damon and the eldest of the seven sisters, Sarah. Magic is the Wind has a strong love story between Sarah and Damon. When they meet, magic seems to happen, and he finds himself drawn to her. But then danger from his past comes calling... Overall, I found this book to be a page-turner and, given the fact that it's only 103 pages long, this means that it can be read in a relatively short period of time. Perfect start to what is sure to be a great series. While reading Magic in the Wind, I felt that several areas could have been fleshed out more - I found myself wanting some additional information that just wasn't there.Magic in the Wind is an opening to an exciting series, that is delightfully fresh and entertaining. I anticipate more stories from this talented author featuring the seven magical Drake sisters . The sense of family and caring was beautiful, the magic was wonderful, and leaves you wanting more.

I really enjoyed the first book in the Drake series. It was an easy and entertaining read. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I found myself looking forward to the Hannah/Jonas story (there is no way those two won't end up together as much as they interact). I felt the book did a good job introducing the sisters (some of them) and giving you a glimpse into what is coming in the other books. I am a fan of Christine Feehan's writing. Her Dark Series is one of my favorites! This series has opened up strong and I can't wait to read the next book!

I love the story of the Drake sisters, but I find it hard to review this book. It was simply just to short. Though the story played out, I still felt like there should have been "more." It just ended too soon for me.

This Series is bout a family of magical sisters and the family ledged that all seven have powers, the first 6 each have a different power and the seventh has all six. This book is about the oldest Sarah. Ever since moving to a sleepy coastal town, Damon Wilder has been hearing bout the Drake sisters and now everyone is talking about Sarah coming home. Even the wind is calling her name. Finding out they are both in the same line of work, and both trying to save the other they fall in love?

After finishing Christine Feehan's Dark Carpathian series earlier this year, I decided to dive into another of her series: the Drake Sisters series. Magic in the Wind is book 1 in this series.Something about the sleepy little town of Sea Haven called to Damon Wilder. He was a brilliant scientist - possibly the smartest man alive - working on secret projects for the U.S. government, but danger seemed to haunt him wherever he went. Damon decided he needed a safe harbor to retire to. He didn't think he wanted the complications that came with friends and romantic relationships - until he was drawn to the house high upon the cliffs.Sarah Drake had returned to her home in Sea Haven after a two year hiatus. Full of her own secrets, Sarah is back to watch over the residents of Sea Haven - one soul in particular. Soon, other Drake sisters begin to arrive and there certainly is Magic in the Wind.Although Magic in the Wind was just a short story in an anthology of romance, it was still a good introduction into the world of the Drake sisters: a family of seven sisters who each have a paranormal talent and are also very close to one another despite leading lives that take them all over the world. Of course I wish that the story had been fleshed out a little more, but I still enjoyed reading it. Magic in the Wind was beautifully written, and (if you'll excuse the pun) magical, spellbinding, bewitching - I think you get the point. Christine Feehan's books come alive with charismatic characters and enchanting settings. I will definitely be continuing on in this series to see what happens to the other Drake sisters.

The Seven Drake sisters are knwon throughout the town. Damon Wilder wanted to retire in the quiet town. All seems well until people whispered that Sara was back. Even the wind told his she was back.He walked up in the welcoming gate and into the sisters's lives. His life has changed...I like the concept. It remind me of my sisters. We are very close. Magic or not, the book can stand.
