About this audiobook

In this first episode of an exciting new trilogy, the blockbuster adventures of Star Wars "RM" continue...

A trade summit on Corellia brings Han Solo back to the home planet he left many years before. Arriving on the distant planet with Leia, their children, and Chewbacca, Han finds Corellia overrun with agents of the New Republic Intelligence and finds himself part of a deceptive plan whose aim not even he understands. One thing is clear: the five inhabited worlds of the sector are on the brink of civil war and the once peaceful co-existence of the three leading species -- human, Selonian, and Drallan -- has come to an end.

Suddenly all that Han, Leia, and others of the Alliance have fought for is threatened. As jammerships block all communication with Luke Skywalker and the outside universe, Han and Leia find themselves trapped on a world about to explode in violence unless they can meet a fanatical rebel leader's impossible demands...

Jun11:Characters: Yea, it's the same cast. They even through in some fan service for the prior books. And yea, they do a pretty good job portraying the old cast.Plot: It's just mostly confusion. Sort of like a mystery without an engaging mystery.Style: Close enough to swashbuckling to feel like the movies. When you're carrying the same cast, it's mostly about not screwing up.

Generally, I'm not a fan of abridged recordings, but it seems there's a lot of those on this service, so I'm stuck with them it seems In any case, it's hard to review an abridged book, because you never know if the shortcomings are the story itself, or if they're a result of the abridgment. But, for general purposes, this wasn't a bad story in general, could use some fleshing out, but that's likely a result of the abridgment (see what I mean?). I'm likely to read more, but in my opinion, abridgments should all be piled into a trash compactor, then crushed beyond recognition, then launched into the sun just to prevent anyone else from reviving the damned things.

Star Wars Ambush At Corellia is the first in the Corellian trilogy. Roger Macbride Allen does a great job bringing the classic Star Wars characters to life. Han, Leia, Chewbacca, Luke and Lando star in this fun filled adventure, and the Solo twins also bring fun and flavor to the tale. The story does take quite some time to get interesting, but it proves to be worth the wait. There are some excellent new characters introduced such as New Republic agent Belindi Kalenda and various other human, Selonian and Drallian characters.Over all, it's a kinda slow moving story that gets up to speed towards the end and is sure to grow in the second and third volumes of the trilogy.

Against the backdrop of adventure and war, Mr. Allen gives us a picture of Han and Leia as parents, and we get to see a bit of the personality of there three children. There hasn't been much about Han's past on Corellia yet, but that promises to be part of this trilogy.

Han Solo is ready for a vacation. Although to bring his family to visit his home planet that he himself hasn’t been to in decades isn’t quite that relaxing on his mind. Everything had been fine for Solo up until a New Republic agent warned Han that Corellia is now a very dangerous place to be. Han, with a daring smuggler’s mind, decided to think little of the warning, which he quickly learnt to regret. Join Roger Macbride Allen in book one of his Corellian Trilogy, Ambush at Corellia. In it includes a very odd chain of events that occur on the planet, and a surprising end to be continued with book two, Assault on Selonia. The only negative thing about the book is that there had been a typo on almost every other page.
