      Red Lily makes up the final third of Nora Robert's latest paranormal romance. This series got off to a fairly lacklustre start with Blue Dahlia and started to show some spice in the middle instalment Black Rose. Here the established main cast is well drawn, giving the reader the welcome chance to pop in and check how the previous characters are getting on- I'm particularly fond of David even if he is too stereotypically gay at points. The dialogue is as bitingly funny as ever, but this trilogy lacked the sparkle of the Three Sister's Island, or Ardmore series for me. Be prepared to have to read lots of gardening information unless you skim it as I did. SKIM! Lots of unsubtle metaphors about grafting plants together to make a unique whole abound, believe me you will thank me for this advice later, unless you are Alan Titchmarsh... Hayley and baby Lily are doing fine at Harper house, although they are still no closer to discovering the past of the mad Harper bride ghost who walks the house and has crooned lullabies to generations of Harper babies within its walls. Hayley finally realises how drawn she is to Harper, but in true romance style spends a lot of time procrastinating because he's the boss. Hayley who I liked the best after Roz of the female cast is slightly whiny and not as fun in this installment, which was a great shame. Luckily, the best parts of the story are the truly creepy portions where the ghost manifests, especially when she possesses Hayley for short periods of time. One of the drawbacks of Robert's trilogies is that by the time you reach its conclusion you have a very good idea who the final character will end up with; this remains true here. Hayley and Harper's romance is sweet but never reaches full blooded passion, ironically despite having two books to build the tension, their romance also feels the most forced. However, the shenanigans of the Harper ghost more than make up for that as she possesses Hayley and we get a creepy, tense look into an unravelling mind. I won't give too much away but the final third of the book and the ghost related creepiness strongly reminded me stylistically of the Harrison Ford film, What Lies Beneath. Leave the light on when you read. Trust me. You will thank me later. I give this three stars for lukewarm romance, it's just a shame that Nora felt that what the world really needed was a gardening themed supernatural mystery. Something to keep her supernatural fans happy until her new series is released this September.

      Romances are not my favorite or even second favorite genre but my mother had the book and she said I should try it. You know you should do what your mother says...right? It wasn't a terrible book or even a bad book...it just wasn't my type of book. I did find parts of it that caught and held my interest. The last part of the book seemed to ramble a bit...or in all fairness it could have just been me. Overall it was an entertaining read but if I hadn't needed a book that fit a category for a challenge I probably wouldn't have pick this up..but isn't that the whole point of a challenge?

      This 3rd book of the "In the Garden" trilogy was definitely my favourite of the three. I really liked the characters of Hayley, Harper, and Lily (Hayley's daughter). Reading about the development of their relationship was fun. The mystery of the "Amelia", Harper Bride, was resolved too. I don't mind a little paranormal in a story, and this one definitely had it, but it worked perfectly with the plot. It was a fast, enjoyable read - another winner from Nora Roberts.

      The conclusion of the In the Garden trilogy finds single-mom Hayley struggling with her attraction for Harper. For his part, Harper is hesitant to pursue Hayley due to employee status. Things heat up, however, when the resident ghost takes a hand. Amelia is determined to have her baby and peace at last - and she's not beyond possessing Hayley to gain both. Can Hayley and Harper and the rest of the crew finally lay the disturbed spirit to rest? The weakest of the three installments, IMHO, but still an exciting conclusion.

      Red Lily is the final book from the In The Garden Trilogy. I think this was the best book in the series. All the couples in the series had great chemistry, but none like Hayley and Harper. My favorite character in the whole series was Amelia (the ghost) and she really came through in this novel. I found the conclusion to be a little rushed, however I did enjoy the book overall. I do recommend this series.

      This is the final in the In the Garden trilogy and they finally find out about the Bride. I liked the characters and their relationships. It was a fun set of books to read and I now need to go back to the first.The ghost aspect is good and a bit scary, I love the strength of the women and the men who know when to back down and not try to control them. We may be smaller as a group, but we don't like to be pushed around by anyone.This is a cute sweet romantic tale.

      I always hate when trilogies end, and the "In the Garden" trilogy (BLUE DAHLIA, BLACK ROSE, and now RED LILY) is no exception. You get to know the characters so completely, and feel such a connection with them, that they become almost real--and you just want to keep on reading about their lives!RED LILY is the story of Harper Ashby, oldest son of Rosalind (BLACK ROSE), and Hayley Phillips. Hayley had come to Harper House the previous year, pregnant and alone, to beseech Roz, a distant cousin through marriage, for a job. Unwed, with her baby's father out of the picture, Hayley wasn't looking for a handout, but for a chance to start over. What Roz offered her was so much more--a job, a place to stay at the renowned Harper House, and a family.Now she has her daughter Lily, a great job, and a roof over her head, but lately she's been thinking of Harper, the man whose been her friend through it all, in a brand-new light--that of a love interest. Afraid to ruin their friendship by telling him how she feels, she keeps quiet. Harper, on the other hand, has wanted Hayley in a more than friendly fashion ever since he laid eyes upon her--pregnant and all--more than a year ago. It was a perfect conclusion to this powerful family saga, and I was especially happy to finally learn the answers to who the Harper Bride was, and what happened to her.I will admit that there was one surprise twist to the storyline that I didn't see coming, and wasn't really thrilled with, but since Ms. Roberts wrote it and I didn't, I can't complain! Overall, the story was still great, and in time I learned to live with what I thought was an unnecessary plot device.Pick up this trilogy today--you won't be disappointed!

      Finally finished the last book in the trilogy. I enjoyed this one better than the second one but I don't really care for this author. In the final installment we find out more about Hayley and Harper (surprise, surprise) and Amelia's ghost is finally put to rest. Looking back over these three books, everything just tied together too nicely. Each woman was married after know their partner for less than two years and you are led to believe that they will live happily ever after. Just a little too Pollyanna for me.

      Wow! Part 3 of the Gardening series is just as good as the first 2. The saga of the angry, crazy, sad family ghost continues. Now, we spend more time in the propagation facility and dip into hybridizing. Love strikes another couple. And, the entire ghost problem is resolved. A very satisfying story.
