About this audiobook
EXCALIBUR:
LOST RELIC.
LEGENDARY TALISMAN.
ULTIMATE WEAPON.
Once thought of as myth, the legendary sword of King Arthur is now a fiercely pursued reality--the most important artifact in a worldwide chess game for control of man's destiny.
Two rival factions have made their move for domination of the planet. And now former Green Beret Mike Turcotte and his elite team must answer the call of duty. Their dilemma: Which army to align with? Choose wrong and evil holds domination
over what's left of humanity.
Only by tracking down the mythic artifact can Turcotte hope to resolve the crisis. His search will take him to the top of the world, to the summit of Mount Everest. But he has more to fear than bone-chilling cold and the thin air of the Death Zone, for he is not alone in the search for Excalibur.
From the Great Wall of China to a fortress on Easter Island, the players span the globe in this ultimate high-stakes game. They'll have to decipher complex clues from deceptive sources to find the key that unlocks Excalibur's power --a secret that has been carefully, meticulously hidden for five millennia. But one thing is clear: Excalibur is more than a myth. It may be the key to our survival --a powerful and sophisticated weapon that, if mastered, will determine the fate of humanity....

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good military Sci-fi. This novel is the first book. Entertaining and fast paced read with an intriguing plot. This is the first book of a series of ten. The characters are clearly described. Author (what's his name?) mixes the ancient mysteries-- makes a new possible outcome for our future and what might happened. Does a really good job of weaving into the plot most of the well known alien conspiracy theories. Narrator, Jeffrey Kafer did not do his review on some of the words and they're mispronounced. Where's book #2?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good military Sci-fi. This novel is the first book of this series I've read, so I'll go back and read the others, but if you like any of the author's works, you'll like this one too. Dynamic characters, fast-paced action, and well-developed plots, not to mention the historical tidbits added throughout. One of my top ten favorite contemporary authors, hands down.GoodReads FirstReads Giveaway

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Liked it, was good and interesting enough to go find the others in the series now...
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Area 51 was an entertaining and fast paced read with an intriguing plot . I found it hard to put down and immediately ordered the sequel Area 51 The Reply.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Eh, pretty slow going in this book. Couldnt event get into it enough to finish it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is the novel that caught my attention and got me reading this series. I am one that likes to read series in order when I can and this is definitely worth following the time line as the author has laid out. Plus to be a minor conspiracy follower myself, this lends itself nicely to being actually plausible, if a little stretched.
