About this audiobook

Missy Roper's fantasies have revolved around Graham Winters since the moment they met. But the imposing leader of the Silverback werewolf clan always seemed oblivious to Missy's existence. At least he was, until Missy collides with him at a party and then abruptly runs away-arousing Graham's interest...and wild desires.

Lupine law decrees that every Alpha must have a mate, and all Graham's instincts tell him that the sensual, beguiling Missy is his. Trouble is, Missy is human-every delectable inch of her. Convincing his clan that she's his destined mate, and keeping her safe from his enemies, will be the biggest challenge Graham has ever faced. And now that he is determined to have her-as his lover and as his mate-Missy's world is changing in ways she never imagined.

Christine Warren

Christine Warren is the New York Times bestselling author of The Others series, including Wolf at the Door, Big Bad Wolf, Born to Be Wild, Prince Charming Doesn’t Live Here, and Black Magic Woman. Born and raised in coastal New England, she now lives as a transplant in the Pacific Northwest. (She completely bypassed those states in the middle due to her phobia of being landlocked). When not writing, she enjoys horseback riding, playing with her pets, identifying dogs from photos of their underbellies, concocting all sorts of yummies (both liquid and solid), and, most of all, reading things someone else had to agonize over.

Graham Winter is alpha of his pack, but has yet to take a mate. At his best friends wedding party, he finds himself bored with every single woman, until he sees one gorgeous derriere, and he is captivated and he has yet to see her face, but he doesn't care, she is His. Missy Roper is a schoolteacher, and the last thing she expected of herself is to be at this party, dressed in a dress that makes her look like a dominatrix or stripper and very not herself. So when her friends who practically forced her in this situation see her, she flees the scene only to bump into Graham Winter, the alpha and the one man that she dreams about. So she does the next unexpected thing....she shares the most sensual night of her life in his arms. Graham knows after sharing such a passionate night with Missy, that she is His, His mate, and he will do everything in his power to keep her in his life, even amidst the danger against them both....Big Bad Wolf is the second book in the Others series, and the first time I have tried this series. I first fell in love with Christine Warren, with her more recent series, when I read Heart of Stone. When I saw that most of this series was at my local library, I decided to pick up Big Bad Wolf. I have a certain weakness for sexy wolf alphas, and after reading the blurb, I put it in my bag as quickly as possible. And after reading this in one morning, where I couldn't put it down once, I felt like I was completely in a whirlwind of wolf shifters, sensual embraces, and quite a adventure. Now I wished I had grabbed every other book in the series LOL. Definitely can't wait to try more of this series, and I am beyond thrilled I was able to have a chance to get my finger hooked in this story. It blew me away, I loved it so much I would recommend it to anyone that loves a solid punch romance to take your breath away. The story starts with strong alpha male, who has probably had sex with almost every woman in his pack at least once. Graham is a physical being, and loves women until he becomes bored with them. He needs someone different and then he meets Missy and he is head over heels. Missy doesn't consider herself alpha mate material. She views herself as just a boring schoolteacher, not daring or bold with any sort of alpha personality in any way. I feel like this story, we see her go on a journey, where she goes from a shy and reserved woman, to one that stands up for herself. And even though toward the end you still see her as reserved, she is a fighter too and will fight for her man if she has too. I really loved her friends, and I would love to read the first book especially, it seems I might be missing out on something fantastic.Overall a tantalizing story that makes you believe in dreams coming true. A wonderful and truly romantic paranormal story with certain suspenseful twists to reel you in, until the end that completely satisfies you and you feel dazed from that twister of a sizzler of a tale. ENTERTAINING ALL THE WAY THROUGH!!! You are missing out if you haven't read any book from this author.

While the story is cute it feels like an abridged version of a book twice it’s size, not to mention the fact that it supposedly all takes place within a week.
What put me off the most though was the voice the narrator used for Graham. It just seemed too off and grumpy all the time.

Amazing, another book by the same author sucking me in and keeping me held until the end. I love it when it happens because that means I've found myself a treasure - and I really believe this book is a treasure. When two people find each other and convince each other their in love for the rest of their lives - especially to someone who believes that they don't add up as a couple - well that's incredible. Even more so when you add in one's a werewolf and the other is human with insecurities. This book also has steamy hot and sexy love scenes that I thoroughly enjoyed.

While this installment in the Novels of the Others is an improvement on the last, it is still lacking in world building and character development.

It is undeniable that Graham is a deliciously sexy werewolf, however, the whole love at second or even third scent is simply ridiculous. A romance based on the notion of fated mates loses its impact when it takes the hero more than one meeting to realize that the heroine is his destiny. Moreover, Graham is not my idea of a successful alpha as he allows a weaker member of the pack to deceive and manipulate him. In addition, the fact that he fails to rip out his cousin's heart after he attacks his mate only serves to highlight his powerlessness.

Missy is not much better. Despite the occasional glimpse of a backbone, she is presented as shy, awkward and insecure. She is also far too accepting of Graham's dictatorial pronouncements that a) they are mates and b) she must participate in the matehunt. It is clear by the end of the book that sex has addled her brain and she is incapable of doing anything more than noting her mate's numerous flaws.

All in all, not bad as a quick and lusty read, and I will continue with the series as I know that the later books in the series are much better.

I love this series, even though I am reading them out of order (this is not a big deal). This one gives insight into werewolf politics and procreation/gestation. It also is a comedy of errors, lots of snark, dirty politics, and some scary stuff before Missy officially becomes Luna of the Silverbacks. If you don't care for erotica, just skip over it and enjoy everything else. The audio is performed by Kate Reading who is very talented in multiple voices and really does add a lot to the read.

This steamy paranormal romance was okay but it took a long time for the plot to set going as the heroine's low self-esteem was thoroughly established. I never really got pulled into the story and skimmed some. Werewolf Graham finally notices teacher Missy at a party.

This is the second of the original books. The story is about Graham Winters, alpha of the Silverback pack, and Melissa "Missy" Jane Roper. I loved the way this story started. You get the idea that these four friends really didn't want to participate in the fantasy fixes that Ava was determined to foist on them. Missy is a sweet character and I was glad that she was able to find the confidence to become Graham's mate. There are some really funny moments in this books were Graham is trying to keep on Missy's better side. You also get to know more about Samantha, Annie and Logan. I am still hoping that Annie gets her own book. I liked her quite a bit in this story. The villain in this story is just an irritating, sniveling whelp that doesn't get what he really deserves. This is another very good paranormal story that most fans will probably enjoy.

Another random book from the shelf, and with a good payoff. the best way to find new authors is to just pick something up at random.Big Bad Wolf takes off running, and like the werewolves it is about, it never stops. Graham, an bored Alpha were, finds himself bored senseless with all the women who keep throwing themselves at him, until he finds Missy at a party. Quiet, unassuming, shy, meek, and HUMAN, Missy. Who has been attracted to him for a long time, but knew he had nothing to do withhumans, or so she thought. Graham realizes shes the one, his mate, even if she's human. But can he convince her of how his world works before she walks out of it? Or before his cousin in his pack runs him out for not having any offspring?

Missy Roper has fancied Graham Winters since they met, but she's totally human and he's were. Then one day she bumps into him (literally) at a party and he suddenly realises that he wants more of her smell. It's pretty predictable, with a small order of difference in how she actually appears to have a backbone, but overall it follows the path of most paranormal romance, not in a bad way, but if you're reading it you know what you're getting.Interesting, I enjoyed the ride but nothing special.

Essentially this is a simple story. Kindergarten teacher Missy Roper attracts the attention of Graham Winters who happens to be a werewolf and the Alpha of the pack. Graham's cousin wants the Alpha spot providing some conflict but the main conflict in the book has to do with Missy's low self-esteem and difficulty in believing that someone so gorgeous and special as Graham could in fact love her. Graham, on the other hand, has taken one look at her butt and gotten one good whiff of her and is convinced that she is his fated mate. Now he only has to convince her and defeat the cousin who wants his place. Easy-peasy. This erotic romance was a quick read and a satisfying page-turner. It would help to read the rest of the books in the series to understand some of the nuances.

I liked "Big Bad Wolf" by Christine Warren. It wasn't until I got home and began the story that I realized this was an expanded version of "Fur Factor" which was originally published as an ebook by Ellora's Cave in 2003. I enjoyed the original and I was pleased to read the expanded version which is actually the second of the 'Fantasy Fix' miniseries.Missy is the 'good' girl. She's a kindergarden teacher who likes children and dreams of the whole 'white picket fence' future. She's also about ready to give up since she's the 'good friend' type rather than the 'girlfriend' type. Of course that doesn't mean she can't still fantasize and one uber-sexy werewolf Graham is the current star of her nightly fantasies...even if he doesn't know she's alive. Until one night...Graham has plenty of women...he's actually bored with it. And he has enough to occupy his attention with his wimpy cousin trying to take over his pack so going without isn't such a big deal. Then he lays eyes...and nose...on HER. Now his mind is made up...he just needs to--convince Missy she's his mate, defeat his cousin's shenanigans, convince the pack to accept Missy, and...oh yeah, tell Missy she's pregnant after only one night! Hot and hilarious. Warren does a great job of portraying not only the poor Alpha who has to try and explain what' just instinct for him, AND poor Missy who's more used to cleaning up Play-Doh than blood. A fun couple that'll leave you fanning yourself!
