      This was a sensational book, one of the best Sabrina Jeffries romances I've read. Minerva Sharpe fell in and out of love with Giles Masters, a rakish old friend of her brothers while at a masquerade nine years ago. After breaking her heart, she writes him into her novels, portraying him as a roguish but thrilling French spy. Little does she know how close to the truth she comes - nor how little she really knows about him! I love, loved this book! A forced marriage scenario, the continuing mystery of how Minerva's parents really died and a glimpse into what's in store for the next Hellion of Halstead Hall - a delightful read with great chemistry between the hero and heroine. I recommend it!

      this one was a little hard to get into during the first few chapters, but got better. I ended up rather enjoying the story.

      The third in the Hellions of Halstead Hall series focuses on oldest sister Miranda, who writes scandalous novels under her own name. Her girlhood crush Giles, now a barrister, is determined not to let her get away. But he has secrets of his own.At this point, I'm reading this series mainly for the resolution of the mystery of exactly how their parents died. There are at least two more siblings; so at least two books to go.

      Holy amazing book batman! So in book two we got a little sneak peak at Giles Masters. Giles let’s slip a little information about his feelings for Minerva to one of her brothers, and now in How to Woo the Reluctant Lady we find out just how much Giles Masters was hiding behind his words.

      Minerva is yet another of the Hellion's trying to get out of her Grans trap of marriage. Will these Hellions ever learn they can't trick Hetty? I hope not because I love watching the plot unfold, and the trickery Hetty always has up her sleeve. Minerva puts an ad out looking for a husband to marry simply stir her Gran. Minerva does not want to marry and hopes her ad will force Gran to relinquish her of her duty of becoming a wife. Who answers the ad? Why none other than Masters, with his sly convincing ways. Masters slips past the Sharpe boys and into Minerva's life. Masters has one goal, Woo the Reluctant Lady of course. The couple embarks on a pretend romance to help Minerva win her Grandmothers disapproval, or so Minerva thinks it's pretend.

      This is by far my favorite book in the series. This book is loaded with everything from scandal and treasure hunting, to government spies and of course an incredible love story. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. At one point I was suppose to run errands and I canceled to finish reading.

      The thing I enjoyed most about this story is the uncovering of what really happened to the Sharpe parents. With each book in The Hellions of Halstead Hall series I as the reader get closer and closer to learning what really happened. With this book I thought it was over and the mystery was solved and BAM! You will have to read to find out. Mean? YES! But I don't want to ruin the fun of the book for you.

      I couldn't honestly tell you which character I loved more in this novel. Minerva is so witty and funny, and will take no crap from anyone. Minerva bickers with the best of them, and goes against the standard of her time by writing Gothic novels. Giles is a multidimensional character who has to hide his true self. Giles and Minerva are meant to be, because he can handle her and she, well she has been in love with him since she was a child.

      I highly recommend this entire series. I already purchased the next book in this series so I don't have to go without my Hellion fix. I even went so far as today trying to get the book after the next one, but tragically my bookstore didn't have a copy! I wanted to tell them they went down a notch in my book for only having three Sabrina Jeffries novels, but I shop there way too often to cause a fuss. This novel is for adult readers only.

      The third in The Hellions of Halstead Hall series (after The Truth About Lord Stoneville and A Hellion In Her Bed) brings us a witty heroine in Lady Minerva Sharpe. Already known to break aristocratic rules as the author of many gothic novels, Minerva is faced with the same task that faced her two elder brothers: marry within the year or forfeit the family inheritance. Of course, her grandmother just wants to see her grandchildren happy after the tragic and mysterious death of their parents. Whether they like it or not.Minerva has mooned over Giles Masters, who has proven himself a rogue of the first order, since a kiss on her nineteenth birthday. Minerva translates her scorn into her work and thinly veils Giles as a spy and scoundrel. Little does she know that Giles' behavior hides the fact that he is an actual British spy. Giles is determined to outwit Minerva at her own game, only to find himself in a starring role.I have always been a fan of Sabrina Jeffries' writing. She is one of those authors that bring us smart, but flawed heroines. Their flaws do not usually fall under the "wilting flower" syndrome that many modern romances see fit to stick their female leads with (I am looking at YOU, Harlequin romances!) but usually flaws that you see from men: intelligence, stubbornness, fortitude, and strength of character. This is one of the reasons I prefer Regency romances; the women rarely wilt.Jeffries also writes amazing series. She does an excellent job of building layered storylines for characters over successive novels. In fact, if you have read her School for Heiresses series, this set of tales is built from those characters' lives. History is built by a plot rich in details, humorous pursuits, and sometimes a mystery. Jeffries includes all of this in the Hellions series as she moves each book through the siblings' lives and loves, and she never leaves a detail behind.How to Woo a Reluctant Lady is a fun read for any romance reader, especially those who love a Regency with a sharp heroine. I cannot wait (but I will have to, at least until November) to see what happens next.
