- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I'm sure it's useful for some people, but a huge part of the book is basically poor-shaming. You know - "You can always buy another one if you need it, we don't live in a depression anymore, your parents did their best when they taught you the rainy day principal but the world is different now" - sorry buddy but no, the world isn't different now for a lot of us. The author talks about his careers, his wealth in adulthood, and since so many hoarders and clutter-bugs are dirt poor or close to it, it feels very disconnected. He's talking to fell rich people who hoard - those hoarding on the breadline are just being silly and need to get over it.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Without a doubt this book truly has changed the way I deal with things on a day to day basis. I know that the 30+ years of clutter won't go in a week (my dustbin wouldn't cope anyway!) I'm feeling proud about looking at something, shaking my head in dismay and then tossing it in the bin! Thank you so much for a wonderfully liberating experience - explained in everyday, understandable and connecting language. I'm keeping you close and will listen often. By far the best book I've encountered on Scribd. ;-)

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book certainly had a different angle than other decluttering books. Nelson set out to explain the various psychological reasons for cluttering behavior. It helped me to realize that my clutter issues are fairly well in hand, and it helped me have more empathy and patience for those who are mired in clutter. I could use some more practical tips to help cull and organize my stuff, but I suppose there are plenty of books out there with that kind of information.
