      I really enjoyed this story, it was a mix of classic science fiction, ancient history and a modern thriller. I'm not an expert on the Egyptology, but what there was seemed to work very well for me as a story and was plausible. It managed to avoid being too Erich von D?niken in its approach, and the way that the locals never grasped the technology was completely believable.

      Another aspect that I liked was the interplay between the metal poor and biotech rich Kinley (humans from a planet 8 light years away) and their enemies who used cloned Kinley to spy on them. This provided some of the science fiction backdrop for a modern day thriller, with the two racing to recover the lost secret of faster than light travel (the prototype lost in the time of the ancient egyptians as the enemies initiated an apocalyptic war that almost wiped them both out).

      The story flitted between the ancient survey team who had used their prototype FTL drive to reach Earth and the modern day search to recover their technology. This worked well, showing the pre-war splendour and achievements in small pieces as the protagonists work out where the survey team have got to. The original team are also shown as dysfunctional and fragmented as their egos get in the way of working together to return home. Mostly this is down to a couple of self-centred characters working against the best interests of the team.

      So it has an interesting set of characters who develop (and some die) over the course of the story. There is more than one plot, characters seem to act in a reasonable way given their motives and preferences (including a couple of unreasonable irrational characters, their mental instability comes across well). There are some clever explanations for some of the ancient egyptian behaviours, including a novel explanation for how and why the great pyramid was built!

      Overall well worth reading.

      I loved the other books in this series, but this one fell very short. I found myself not even caring whether any of the main characters lived or died. She switches perspectives far too often in the first half of the book. In her previous books she handled the switching very well in my opinion. But in Resurrection, she never sticks with characters long enough for her readers to reconnect with them. I also felt that she sacrificed character likability for cliffhanger chapter endings. Her attempts at suspense backfired for me because it seemed contrived. Furthermore, it turns out that none of the outrageous obstacles she gives her characters even matter as the ending is due in large part to a deus ex machina type situation. The very end of the book was a huge let down. Nancy Holder doesn't pay off her readers' loyalty. Instead she rushes through the final chapters to tell (instead of show) what happens to her characters. Most of them are only afforded a sentence or two for their endings. Even Holly only gets a paragraph or so.

      I found this SF novel and enjoyable and undemanding read. It involves a millennia old conflict between two races eight light years from Earth, the Kinley and the Lucien, some of whom visited Earth during the Fourth Dynasty of ancient Egypt and (a bit of a SF cliche) caused the Great Pyramid to be built. The narrative switches fairly frequently between ancient and modern Egypt and the plot moves on nicely, with some interesting human and alien characters, though I found the ending a bit too pat. I would read more by this author.

      A good ending to the series. It was definitely a roller coaster of a ride. There was so many twists and turns and things happening it was a quick read for me. I found myself totally engrossed in it and trying to read faster to see what happens. There was a lot to wrap up with this series but the authors did it in style. I really liked everything about it and definitely recommend this series to fans of witches/warlocks/demons etc.

      I read the first four books in this series and just thought they were okay. I tend to be pretty easygoing and not easily disappointed with a series, so when I finally got to read the last book I was very disappointed to feel unfulfilled with the last part of the story and the ending. It seemed to me like the authors just pulled the ending out of their rear-ends and prayed it would work and be enough to satisfy the readers. Clearly it didn't satisfy me. But I will say that I was slightly pleased with one aspect of the ending.

      Ever since I read Wicked two years ago, I've been a fan of this series. It may not be every one's cup of tea, and the magic in these books are nothing like Harry Potter, quiet the opposite in fact, filled with darkness and evil, and you never quiet know which side everyone is on....But that's one of the things I enjoy so much about this series.And Wicked: Resurrection was anything but a disappoint, a fitting conclusion to the series. After having the last two books leaving you hanging, wanting more, Holder and Viguie finally managed to wrap it all up nicely, leaving the reader satisfied. It may not have the traditional HEA (happily ever after), but this HEA matches the story and characters, and that's all that really matters, right? I don't wish to give out any spoilers, from any of the three books, so I won't go into deep details. However, I will say that Resurrection manages to keep you guessing until the very end, throwing out new twists and characters just when you think you've managed to figure it all out. Darkness and corruption is zeroing in on Amanda, Nicole and Holly, but with the right knowledge and by working together, only they (and Owen) can turn back the malicious Merlin from destroying the world and killing them. Yes, it may sound like 'just another save-the-world' kind of book, but if you read the series, starting with book one (very important for understanding and enjoying the series completely!), you'll soon find out that it's nothing like what you'd expect.And to top it all off, besides the demons and magic and darkness, oh my!, Wicked: Resurrection has a nice dose of romance in it as well, between three separate couples. They may not have the perfect connection, and they all go through some really hard times, what with having ghosts from the past possess them and what not, but in the end, they stay together. And to me, that's what makes a romance more believable-- face it, none of us will ever have a relationship that doesn't have a few problems along the way, speed bumps that make us wonder 'Is it even worth it?'. But in the end, if you can survive the trip, the conclusion is well worth it. 4.5 STARS! Wicked: Resurrection is a stunning finale to a delicious fantasy series. I'll definitely be recommending this to friends and family, and anyone else whom I think would enjoy the darker elements in the book.
