- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5For those who love puppy stories, then this transitional chapter book is for you. It will engage children 8-11 who are looking for an easier chapter book read. The Peterson family fosters puppies until they can find their forever home; however, the newest puppy, a little Yorkie named Princess, is spoiled with a capital “S.” If anyone has a soft spot for dogs, especially Yorkies, then this is a must read. This book provides details that allow the reader to visualize the scenes of the story without being too complex for a younger reader. I just wanted to cuddle the puppy! In addition to providing entertainment, the author also includes lessons such as how to be responsible for a pet, puppy tips, and the benefits of volunteering. If the reader enjoys this book, there are also eleven other chapters books in this Puppy Place series. I highly recommend this book!
