About this audiobook

The vineyards of Napa Valley provide a lush backdrop for this sweeping epic from the #1 New York Times bestselling author….

PR executive Sophia Giambelli loves her job and has never worried about competition. For three generations, her family’s wines have been world-renowned for their quality. But things are about to change at Villa Giambelli. Tereza, the matriarch, has announced a merger with the MacMillan family’s winery—and Sophia will be assuming a new role. As a savvy businesswoman, she knows she must be prepared for anything…but she isn’t prepared for Tyler MacMillan. They’ve been ordered to work together very closely, to facilitate the merger. Sophia must teach Ty the finer points of marketing—and Ty, in turn, shows her how to get down and dirty, to use the sun, rain, and earth to coax the sweetest grapes from the vineyard.

As they toil together, both in and out of the fields, Sophia is torn between a powerful attraction and a professional rivalry. At the end of the season, the course of the company’s future—and the legacy of the villa—may take an entirely new direction. And when acts of sabotage threaten both the family business and the family itself, Sophia’s quest will be not only for dominance, but also for survival.

Nora Roberts is one of my favorite authors way back when. This is one of her hundreds of books that is going to be in my re-read list. She writes so vividly that I can feel I’m in the scene she is describing, which in my opinion has destroyed me from other authors not as good as her.
This novel is about the family who stuck together and have been successful being la famiglia through and through.

Too many dead bodies, too many bad guys, too many people swapping beds. Oh, yes, also an unfair twist at the end.

Another great read by Nora Roberts. Only criticism is that the Americanized poor pronunciation of the Italian words by the Italian characters was very distracting and annoying. The producer should have had a dialect coach work with the narrator.

I absolutely love reading Nora Roberts’books. Somehow I knew who was behind the 1st murder from the way the character kept advising to leave it alone….

It was both intriguing with romance and mystery. I liked the spin on the family, and how they all came together. And the reading was done very well. It was a pleasure to listen to.

It amazes me that anyone with a brain can read this and consider it good literature. I am delighted that I learned speed reading in high school so that I was able to finish this piece of trash in less than a day and get it out of my house. The plot is convoluted, the characters are stick figures (with one exception), and the setting is so overused and common as to be laughable. This so-called novel has nothing to recommend itself and is a waste of paper.

The Villa by Nora RobertsFamilies combine their expertise in the wine business and some are upset...Sophia Jumbelle, runs the PR for the family vineyards. The head of the family Teresa has announced a merger with the McMillins. Now Sophia has to work with Ty and they must each train the other for their jobs. Love learning everything about pruning the vineyard and how she promotes the company.Story also follows the head of the family and Sophia's parents who are getting divorced and they each lead their own new lives. Murder happens and they try to figure out who poisoned the wine and who it was really meant for.More threats come and there are hot steamy sex scenes. Well rounded book but mostly love the travel and the vineyard. Betrayal and espionage...I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

An average Nora Roberts which means it is very entertaining. This one is most ntable for the character of Maddy, the curious, smart and interesting young teenager who begins to grow up in the course of the book.

Roberts delves into corporate espionage and Intrigue in the wine world but she spends more pages pairing up characters in the bedroom. I found the characters bland and uninteresting.

I have owned this book for 10 years and never read it. I have picked it up dozens of times to start it, but it simply never caught my attention. Well, I recently started reading it and I am glad."The Villa" follows the Giambelli-MacMillan clan throughout an entire season of wine making. There is murder, romance, corporate espionage, and intrigue. The Italian family is fantastic! Although at times you really had to pay attention to keep up with all of the plot twists, it is soooo worth it!
