      Book was ok... but Scrib’s audiobook of it had many places where it skipped ahead so you missed parts. :(

      I think the narrator is really a computerized voice. I have never heard a native English speaker read or speak with the peculiar inflection and emphases within common phrasing. The cadences are simply weird. Couldn’t finish book (story was meh through beginning) because the narration was frankly unpleasant.

      I love Kristin Hannah. But the narrator was annoying. She read with a constant melodic rhythm of an amateur. She gave importance to nonsensical parts of the story. I could only last a couple of chapters before I had to quit. Horrible. Too bad because I would have loved to hear the story.

      Audio version: I would have loved to hear the story but the narration was so bad I only made it 20% of the way through. Every sentence is read as if it were the climactic scene of a thriller, which is completely inappropriate for this kind of book. It could be a parody.

      Interesting story of a long marriage and its pitfalls. Realistic view of two people working to realize what they have lost and also what they have gained.
      Love and its complex nature is beautifully expressed throughout this book

      Loved all Kristin’s books so far but couldn’t get into this one. I’m 10 minutes in and can’t deal with the narration. Narrator sounds like she needs a drink of water (sticky mouth) and voices are annoying.

      Good story line, didn't fall in love with the way it was narrated. Seemed a little forced. I wish the author would have let the readers know if Jack ended up being completely honest with Elizabeth.

      A lovely story about a woman who starts over, a reminder that it’s never too late to do so. However, there was too much unnecessary details in the script and it was very predictable. The story could’ve been told in half the time. A bit of a fairy tale, with its lack of financial struggles for any of the characters.

      I enjoyed this story as it resonated with me, a woman in mid-50s. It explores how love and time, the routine of family life and prioritising the needs of your loved ones can push you into the background until you feel devoid of passion. No earth shattering reveals here but a gentle and realistic story of finding self, vitality and love again.

      Well, to me this has been an average story weaving with averagely moulded characters, but exactly because of this reached down to my heart. The ending, though, had the flavour of a fairy tale, nothing close to reality.

      Loved it. Would have given 4.5 stars. I save 5 star ratings to the best of the best like The Nightingale but I still read this fast and was able to get into the book right away. I love books about relationships of people in their 40s.

      Once again Hannah delivers a very woman empowering novel. Elizabeth "Birdie" Shore has lost herself while being a great wife & mother. Birdie follows her famous, then not so famous husband around the country while he follow his dreams and she supports him. Birdie realizes that now her children are raised and her husband has once again become famous her own passion for life is missing. So she decides to do something about it. Hannah captures her characters so well it is like reading about your own life.
