      I listened to the audiobook. I couldn't even get through the first few chapters the narration was so terrible. I am a fan of this author too, and have read most of her other books, but this one seems predictable and follows the same plot and story-line I've read in many of the others. It's getting boring. But again if you listen to the audiobook I hope you have a better experience than I did, the narrator was horrible.

      Good story although the narrator was distracting with his poor Spanish accent. In the beginning I thought she was Eastern European then Irish not Spanish. Other than that the book was engaging

      Kristin Hannah is a master storyteller. This novel, being one of her earlier works, was delightful to read. It's lighthearted and predictable, but that's part of the charm. I much prefer her more recent historical fiction, but this book was a welcome break after reading heavier subject matters.

      I’m a big fan of Kristin Hannah and this one just wasn’t up to par as her newer books I love so much. I still think it’s a good story about appreciating the ones you love, but her newer books just have so much more depth and emotion I feel like.

      Story was well written and full of pathos and family angst. It examines complicated medical and emotional issues. However the children were written as younger than ages stated.

      Another great one by Kristin Hannah. Mikeala Campbell, loving mother of 2 beautiful children Jacey & Bret, caring wife of Liam. Falls prey to a coma after a horse riding accident and then amnesia. Remembering her first marriage and her first love and her daughter but not her son or her current husband. Which is heartwrenching for all of her family.This is quite a romantic, with some christian overtones in there, family values all in there. Loved this book

My reactionsI think this was the first time Hannah chose to put a character into a coma, though I’m not certain. The plot focuses on the difficulties the family has coping with their wife / mother’s condition, and the “twist” comes from the discovery of Mikaela’s secret past – a previous marriage to a movie star. Yada Yada Yada.I feel like my reviews are all starting to sound the same … probably because this is my third book by Hannah in the last week, and they all follow a predictable formula. This time I actually read the book rather than listened to an audio version. I’ve been helping a friend who had major surgery and this was a easy read, that generally held my attention and helped fill the many hours of sitting in waiting rooms. I’ll give her credit (and an extra star) for that.

      Mikaela goes into a coma after an accident, and her husband and family hope that she will come back as she was before. Her husband learns that she has been carrying around a secret for years. He uses the knowledge gained from that secret to help his wife. This novel is just ok. I knew how it was going to end, which is evident from the beginning. Parts of it I found to be improbable, like the secret she kept for so long (think National Enquirer). After she wakes from the coma, she remains in the hospital for days and days. That ain't happenin'! It would have been rehab for her. Sometimes I just can't get past things like that.

      Angel Falls by Kristin HannahStarts out with a young boy whos surprised his mom by saddling her house and it's Halloween. After the accident the kids accompany their dad Michael-a doctor to the hospital til they know more.He calls her mother and she comes the next day to help with the children and pray for her daughter's recovery. She's in a coma now...such heartbreak as they try to continue on with their lives while praying and hoping Mika comes out of the coma.Leo figures out what triggers her memory and he has to make a hard decision to contact her first husband. Just when that is all devastating there are other hard choices and things Leo and Mika had planned to tell the kids together...She has to come to some hard truths and let those who she cares for know what's in her heart. Didn't see this ending, but it's a great story.I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

      This was a light, summer read which will appeal to many women but while I liked it, I found it too sappy and unbelievable at times to really enjoy. I loved "Winter Garden" by the same author, however, this novel wasn't as thought-provoking or as complex which was a disappointment

      A good book with a dramatic beginning but I felt the sad situation dragged a bit. It did get interesting midway and I was quite anxious to see how things played out. Mikaela falls from a horse and goes into a coma. Her husband Dr Liam is devastated yet must hold his family together.

      A mother's accident throws her into a coma. While trying to hold his family together while she lies unresponsive for months, her husband learns more about her past and takes courageous steps to help her. I enjoyed this book.

      Spoilers**** Sorry***I read one book by Kristin Hannah a couple years ago and really enjoyed it, so this was a pretty disappointing read for me. I thought the writing in this novel wasn't nearly as tight as in the other book I read by her (Night Road). The plot in this book (by her own description in the interview in the back of the book - a "coma book" ) is so forced and contrived I had a really hard time getting through to the end. There is so much that just is ridiculous in this book - it is one thing to accept things and suspend disbelief - but so little of this book rang true that it was a chore to read. From the undiscovered Hollywood marriage - to the coma - to her migrant worker background and how she met and married Julien True - it was all just absurd.I noticed that this book was a pretty early one for Hannah. I think I won't completely strike her off my list but I think I will try a more recent book for sure if I try her again.

      This book should be classified more as "inspirational romance" than romance. It is heavily tinged with Christian overtones and contains absolutely no steamy scenes.Mikaela Campbell sustains a head injury in the first chapter and spends the majority of the book in a coma. Her husband of 10 years, Liam, and her children, Jacey (16) and Bret (9) share their memories with her trying to wake her up. When Liam discovers she was married before, to famous movie star Julian True, and that she responds slightly to Julian's name, he loves her enough to call him and see if maybe he can pull her back from the brink of death. Obviously she wakes up, then has to deal with the fact that she's been lying to her family for years and also choose between Liam and Julian.I find it very hard to believe that no on in town realized the lady married to the son of the town founder used to be in tabloids. I find it very hard to fathom that once he shows up in town, no one figures out why he's there as well as the obvious paternity of Mikaela's oldest child, Juliana Celeste (Jacey). I find it very hard to believe that the famous movie star meets a poor girl in a diner and can't stop thinking about her, so marries her, then leaves her, but still she's the only woman he's ever loved. Despite the very obvious need for a suspension of disbelief in order to read this book, I found I couldn't put it down. I can't figure out why. The writing isn't all that great (see also: Mikaela's mother's dialogue being loaded with Spanish words, but only when they're so similar to their English counterparts that the average reader obviously knows what she's saying), the characters aren't all that compelling (although Hannah does give a different 'voice' to the omniscient narrator when focusing on each of them), and the plot is almost cringe-worthy. I just had to keep reading. I don't know that it's even because I wanted to know what happened next. It was pretty obvious what was going to happen next the whole time. I don't know. Whatever, it was an okay book.
