About this audiobook

This is what happens when the desperate golden-boy owner of the worst pro-basketball team in the world and his equally desperate golden-boy coach do the unthinkable: sign the first woman ever to play in the NBA. Her name is Dee Gerard, the daughter of a New York playground legend and the product of God having an exceptionally good day. A star in Europe, but weary of bad arenas, she retires - until the day a scout for the hapless New York Knights calls his boss: 'I found you a point guard who is perfect, except for one thing.' What, no heart? 'It's not the heart, exactly. But you're close.'

The league doesn't want a circus. The other players don't want her. The owner wants fannies in the seats. The sportswriters just want their column inches. What she wants . . . is to play in the best game there is. How she gets there, the hilarious and sobering things that happen to her, the personal and professional entanglements that spring up everywhere, the pitfalls of remaining old-school when all about her are tattooed, self-indulgent, young millionaires - this is a smart, funny, outrageous, wonderful story of Full Court Press.

pages read: 1- 235This book is about the first NBA's womens player, Dee Gerard, who is singed by a professional and well- known basketball team. She faces very many obstacles. For example, criticism, not wanted, and hated. The main character is, ofcourse, Dee Gerard the women basketball player. Although she faces many obstacles in her carrer, she always stays positive and keeps her head up. She is not one of those big shots who are always "showing off" their talent. She keeps quiet and plays the game.I could relate to this book in one way. When I played for the first time on a basketball team couple years back, I faced similar cristicism, but not like Ms. Gerard. Since I was a beginner and no one knew how I played, everyone miss judged me because I was not as tall as everyone else. But, I ignored their remarks, and just like Ms. Gerard, I just played the game.I did not like how the critics, players, and fans did not like her because she was the first girl to play. That is about all I did not like about this book. I would recommned this book to middle tennagers because of some language and some extreme knowledge. Other than that people with a strongfeeling for basketball.
