      The Women's Murder Club is back at it. This time they are chasing a killer who is throwing more curveballs at them than they can handle. I enjoyed this book as much as I did the first book of the series and am excited to get my hands on the rest of the series.

      Lindsay and her club are at it again. This time it all starts with the death of an 11-year old at a church shooting. It looks racially motivated - but is it really. This is a black church in a tough but improving neighborhood - and it looks random at first. But the shooter killed only one person and that shot was pretty incredible...maybe not as random as it seemed.The second death or maybe the first is the hanging of an elderly black woman in the basement of her apartment building. And then a police officer is gunned down responding to a domestic abuse call in a derelict building.Lindsay and her friends are digging. Cindy becomes entangled romantically with the handsome pastor of that church. Jill has a medical emergency and Claire is pulled in to this crime when the shooter attacks her home.And then the chief of police is gunned down outside his home.Lindsay's father makes an appearance and is somehow tied in to this whole thing. Is he there to cover his own back and make sure the investigation moves away from him - or is he there to keep Lindsay safe??This is another page turner and a fast read. My only complaint is the epilogue again...is this a pattern? But that won't keep me from reading the 3rd one and then moving on to the 4th!!I love a good series!!Costa Rica book #4!

I really loved how it weaved in all the characters and through that we got to know more about them. It also gave you a bit of back story which was really interesting. I am not going to give anything away but once I thought I figured it out--one more loop was thrown into the mix.What I Liked: We are really getting to know the characters more! I am beginning to like them all and can't wait to read the rest of the series.Audio Review: I liked the duel voices of a male and female narrator! However, Melissa Leo was a bit stronger which is good because she was the bulk of the book. I love Jeremy Piven though and he voices a good bad guy!Final Thought: This was a great 2nd edition to the series. While I don't think you have to read these in order (each case stands alone), I think you would miss character development if you read them out of order.

      Like others in the series, good fun brain candy if you like police / mystery novels. Lindsay and her friends are back to find another killer, and as per usual, they do so with some laughter and some style.

      The second book in the Woman's Murder Club Series. I enjoyed this book more then 1st To Die. 2nd Chance was so fast paced and the plot was exciting. I started it in the morning and I finished by 7pm. This book went into the woman's personal lives a little more. Cindy finds love...but Jill has sad times. Lindsay's father shows up - I hope he shows up more in the future books - I really like him. I did find this book a little rushed, there didn't seem to be as many details as in the 1st. I did feel the ending of this book could have been a little stronger. It was not as exciting as the 1st to Die ending. I can't wait to read 3rd Degree.

      If the first one got you hooked to the series, then this one will keep you in. As always, well written and story flows nicely. Hard to put down.Here, the main character finds herself (so does the department) stumped on a suspected serial killing/hate crime.Four stars.

      '2nd Chance' takes place four months after the successful end to the crime spree detailed in '1st to Die' and starts a new adventure for the Women's Murder Club. Since the characters have been introduced and fleshed out in the first novel, this leaves Patterson to centre on a single plot and this creates a real page-turner. It's somewhat predictable in places, however '2nd Chance' is entertaining throughout and uses the trademark Patterson style to full effect. Best read in sequence, this is an engaging book from cover to cover.

      2nd Chance was a good book that I couldn't get enough of. I finished it in three days. It's about the womens murder club who come upon a case of racial shootings that involve people with relation to cops. I especially like the ending how Lindseys "relationship" with that special person, who I'll let remain nameless so I don't give anything away, isn't completely hopeless.

      Things get personal for Lindsay Boxer in Patterson's second installment in the Womens Murder Club series. When a killer starts a spree of what everyone else sees as "hate crimes" in SF, Lindsay and her friends find the true link in the murders. The bad part - it brings the killer closer to them as well. And Lindsay gets and unexpected blast from the past in her life, further complicating things.

      A killer is murdering people from every walk of life. Lindsay Boxer calls on her friends Claire the medical examiner, Jill the assistant D.A. and Cindy a Chronical reporter to help her solve the mystery. The deaths seem unrelated at first bur the "Women's Murder Club fins a connection.

      First, please do not start this book without reading 1st To Die in this series. As Lindsey picks up her life to go forward with her circle of tight professional friends, a nightmare occurs. I definately relate to the group of girls trying to be their best with almost a bit of the "perfection disease". Each friend cares and needs each other on a personal level now as well as professional level. They have had to invest great "trust" in one another. Lindsey is so human. She has been promoted due to focused goals. She works out, is a great cook, lives alone with her dog Molly and has her personal struggles that make her and her group so authentic. Great suspense that I kept trying to solve. Eagar to see the characters grow in book #3.

      good story of linsey boxer trying to solve murders done by a marksman. a young girl at church, a black woman, a cop and her chief. There is a decal of a lion/goat head and a serpent tail to further the search.

      It was alright just about sums this one up as it passed the time. Someone I used to commute with recommended James Patterson to me when she saw me reading Ian Rankin and I enjoyed the first couple of books of his I read. But I like my thrillers with moral complexities and I find Patterson's writing too formulaic and morally black and white for my taste.

      Another great read! Okay...I listened to it, but still a great book! I can't believe that I haven't gotten into this series before now. I mentioned that I hoped that the books following 1st to Die had a lot to live up too. This one doesn't disappoint. I didn't like it quite as much as the first one, but close. This book lets the reader get to know more about the personal lives of the girls. Cindy becomes involved in a relationship and one of the girls is targeted so we learn a little more about her too. In a series like this, it's important to me to know these main characters. We learn a little more about Lindsey and her past when her father who has been absent from her life for 22 years shows up. I'm not sure about Lindsey's reaction to his sudden appearance, but it fits well into the story.The ending isn't at all what I expected. That makes for a great read for me. I don't like to have the book figured out before I turn the last page. Patterson is great with the final twists that keep me coming back for more!! I've already started the 3rd book in the series and am trying to get my hands on a copy of #4!

      Names may be Lindsay and Marty Boxer but what came to mind was Jordan and Max Cavanaugh. Classic Patterson, loved it.

      As the title suggests, 2nd Chance is the 2nd book in James Patterson's ongoing series The Women's Murder Club. This novel takes place a few months after homicide dectective Lindsay Boxer closed the case on the honeymoon murders. Recently promoted to Lieutenant of the San Francisco Homicide Division, Boxer must now track down a racially motivated killer, who is killing people with reckless abandon. Not long into the investigation Lindsay finds herself to be one of the killers targets. With the help of her friends, Cindy Thomas a crime reporter for the Chronicle, Assistant District Attorney Jill Bernhardt, and medical examiner Claire Washburn, they will need to pool all of their resources together to catch the killer before they strike again. Will all of them make it through this case unscathed?

      This is the second in the Women's Murder Club series. It started with the senseless murder of an 11 year old church choir member in a sniper attack at a neighborhood church. Then an elderly woman was found hanging in her basement in another part of town. Both victims were black, and both were related to San Francisco cops. But homicide detective Lt. Lindsay Boxer senses that there is another connection between them and enlists the aid of her friends, Claire (SF Medical Examiner), Jill (Assistant D.A.), and Cindy (reporter for /The Chronicle/) to help her find out what it is. As the murders continue, they start hitting closer and closer to Lindsay herself, and it becomes a race to catch this psychopath before he manages to kill her or her closest friends.The story here was fine and the mystery was convoluted enough to keep me guessing right up to the end, but I'm still feeling not quite satisfied with Patterson's writing style. The short, clipped chapters are unnecessary, I think, and they often break off in the middle of a scene, which I find distracting. And his depiction of female friendship is so obviously written from a male point of view that it is laughable. I don't really care about any of these characters, even now after the second book in the series, and I think I'll call it a day with it. I'm heading over to remove the other books in the series from my queue at booksfree. I know that James Patterson is a "best selling author" but his writing certainly falls flat in this series. I've not read any of his stand-alone novels, and he seems to churn out at least one a year. To tell you the truth, I'm not in a big hurry to read anything more from this author, and that disappoints me. This gets a very tepid 2 from me.

      Women only distinguishable by their profesions ..A Reporter, Police Officer, Pathologist and Lawyer decide for some unknown reason that apparently unrelated murders are the result of a serial killer and track him down their ability to wisecrack, talk tough, and bond perfectly on cue every time. makes them instantly forgettable.

      Another roller coaster ride of a novel with almost non-stop action. Told from the point of view of the murderer, giving clues that only become obvious when the mystery is solved, and Lindsay Boxer from the first of these novels. Along with her friends that comprise the Women's Murder Club she has to find out who is murdering people and why before it gets too close for comfort. With details of the lives of the women involved it's quite interesting and appealing. A worthy sequel to an excellent read.
