Peter Guber has had an extraordinarily varied and successful career, serving as Studio Chief at Columbia Pictures; CEO of Polygram Entertainment; Chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures; and Chairman and CEO of his current venture, Mandalay Entertainment Group. Among the award-winning films he has produced or executive produced (which have garnered more than fifty Oscar nominations) are The Color Purple, Batman, and Rain Man. Guber is also Chairman of Dick Clark Productions, which produces the American Music Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and other programs. He is a professor at the UCLA School of Theater Film and Television and the Anderson School of Management and an Entertainment and Media Analyst for Fox Business News.

    I agree with the concept of telling a story to win business. The human interest angle works wonders, as I first discovered as a features reporter. The book is a bit longer than it needs to be and repeats itself. I think the examples are exemplary only because the author has led an extraordinary life. The best parts, I thought, were the stories told about the failures to emphasize the stories told about success.

    A good book for reminding one to keep it personal when dealing with business.

    I always knew there was magic about telling stories... Just never seen in print before. I now understand why they are so important and why they work after reading this book. Peter does it in a way that you remember and but I know you can come back and read this book in a year and learn so much more.Great book on how we learn and why! Found this a easy but good read. Now I know why sometimes it works and other time it does not. You have to read Tell to Win so you'll know.

    Best-book-with-the-worst-name Award.A brilliant reminder to craft your subway speech as well as your elevator one. We are born to storytelling & your personal backstory is your brand. There is no substitute for researching your (target) audience.The rich & famous gibber jabber is forgivable. A one cup read.
