About this audiobook

Adrianna Moore has just had a double shock: the death of her father and the discovery that he has left his entire estate to his lawyer. The lawyer, a repulsive social climber, tells her that to regain her inheritance, she must marry him "a week from Sunday." Adrianna takes off, driving desperately to a new life. Caught in a violent rainstorm, she collides with an oncoming truck. Quinn Baxter, the driver of the truck, demands repayment for his lost cargo. They reach a bargain: she will live in his home, tutor his bedridden younger brother, and play piano in Quinn's tavern to pay off her debt. Drawn to the rugged Quinn and challenged by the interaction with the tavern patrons, she also must deal with an intractable foe-Quinn's housekeeper, who is scheming to become his wife. All the while, the spurned lawyer is following Adrianna's trail, determined to find her and force her to marry him.

Shallow characters. Narrator only has one male voice which is a cross between gangster and old man, very annoying. I'm going to throw this one away to prevent anyone else from accidentally stumbling upon this copy.

Before I read this book I read some reviews and I though oh oh I wasn't going to make it through the first five chapters without giving up out of sheer boredom. Therefore I was surprised that I really liked this book and the characters. It really drew me in. The only complaint is that the characters themselves as well as their romance could have been developed some more.

Adrianna Moore has just had a double shock: the death of her father and the discovery that he had left his entire estate to his lawyer. A duplicitous social climber, the attorney promises to give her back her inheritance...if she agrees to marry him a week from Sunday. Repulsed by his proposal and desperate to escape, Adrianna knows there's only one thing she can do--run!! But in the pouring rain, her car collides with a truck driven by Quinn Baxter. A lumberjack and bar owner, this rugged giant of a man can make a whole new life possible for her.I don't know what it is about some books, how they can grab you and reel you in right away or ask yourself "Is this misery ever gonna end," or "Should I just give up now or just continue reading?" This was one of those page turner books everyone talks about. I will be reading more of her stories. There's also a housekeeper named Lola that gets what coming to her in the end. Happy Reading!!
