About this audiobook

For the last four years, good girl Lane has regretted breaking up with Noel Falcon. She thought she was sensible when she told him his dreams of being a rock star would get him nowhere, but now that he's a rock god and her career is stagnant, she realizes just how wrong she was. When Noel hires the marketing company where Lane is an intern, she's forced to see him again. If she wants to land her dream job as executive within the company, she has to win him over and secure his account. Too bad Noel is still pissed at her for breaking his heart.

When Lane's company flies her to a Black Falcon concert to gain Noel's attention, emotions run high the moment she sees him and realizes she's far from over him. But Noel's countless trysts with groupies and his cocky attitude make Lane believe he isn't the same guy she once loved-now he seems to only want her body. Then after Lane discloses she needs him to procure a job, Noel proves he's a changed man by forcing her to go on the road with him in order to get it.

After Lane reluctantly takes Noel up on his offer, she becomes willing to do whatever it takes to keep him satisfied, even if it means succumbing to his seductive ways. Lane soon finds deception is a dangerous game and she's not the only one playing.

Cute story... typical normal girl from the past hooks up with now famous rocker... but it was done well. I loved that he called her out from onstage and dedicated Ball Busting Bitch to her. My complaint with rock star stories is that the guy always goes from total badass to mushy pansy because he's in love. Just once, I'd like to see a badass chick steal a rocker's heart and be able to keep up with him, not try and change him (well, maybe nix the groupies)... sigh

I'm not fond of books speaking in first person perspective, but my annoyance at the writing style wore off by the end due to my involvement in the story & interest in the characters. Not sure if this author has any other works out yet, but she'll be one to keep an eye on!

I just finished an ARC that I was lucky enough to be given by Michelle Valentine. I have to say I love Noel. Sexy, talented, determined, he was hot! This was a fast but fun read and I can definitely see the potential for a series. We got Lanie and Noel's story but we still have the rest of the band members who I have to say I would like to see more of, especially Riff.

Lanie Vance is an intern at a huge New York marketing firm and now has the opportunity to land her dream job all she has to do is wine and dine Black Falcon's front man Noel Falcon and show him that her company is serious about his band's charity. The problem is Lanie and Noel used to date and Lanie broke Noel's heart when she broke up with him 4 years ago. Now she has no idea how she will be able to face him, what does he think of her after all this time? Does he even remember her now that he's so famous?

Noel Falcon has never forgotten Lanie, she was his first and only love and she broke his heart. When he is faced with her again he can't help showing her how pissed he is at her even though he definitely can feel the same attraction for her that he has always had. Noel constructs a way for Lanie to travel with him and his band for the end of their tour and there is no way she can refuse since her job now depends on it.

While Lanie is determined to keep things professional and not fall for Noel's constant seduction attempts Noel does everything he can to keep them close as possible. Unfortunately the longer Lanie is with Noel the harder it is for her to tell if he is just playing a game for revenge or if he really does still love her. How could he when he could get any woman he wanted?

Just when she thinks she is starting to figure Noel out she learns that everything isn't how it seems. Noel has secrets, there is a lot he hasn't told Lanie and she's beginning to think this whole thing has been a game for him. With her job on the line she can't afford to fail but she can't afford to have her heart broken either.

I love Ms Valentine's world. Black Falcon are awesome and I enjoyed the rekindled relationship between Noel and Lanie. Noel's one hot man with eyes only for his woman! Lanie's a woman who knows what she wants and that's never to be number two. A hard ask when you love a man who loves his music!
The sex - it's hot, hot, hot!
I'm looking forward to more in the series.

Lanie is shocked when she is assigned the Black Falcon for her new marketing campaign. Brand new at her company, she is surprised to be assigned to such a huge client as a relatively new employee. It isn’t until she realizes that she will be working closely with her ex-boyfriend, Noel, that she understands that her new client may have been assigned, not for her brain but for her past with the lead singer. Noel has secrets he goes to great lengths to hide from Lanie. Serious about finding his way back to her, Noel wants to guard his heart and keep things hidden while drawing Lanie closer and closer. Filled with fantastic secondary characters and a fiery main romance, the question becomes, what secrets does Noel really have and can Lanie live with the consequences. I really enjoyed Noel and Lanie’s adventure through Rock the Heart. Their shared pasts created a fantastic backdrop and it made an intregal part of the story blossom. Plus their scenes seemed to just burn off the pages. My favorite parts though included Noel’s bandmates. I enjoyed Lanie don’t get me wrong, but the scenes with his bandmates were funny, lighthearted, and realistic. You could easily see why Noel considered them family and steered clear of his own. All in all a really cute, creative romance with a little drama towards the end. Sweet and fun with the right amount of naughty mixed in, Rock the Heart is the first in what I can only hope is a long series featuring the Black Falcon band. Next up is Rock My Bed, featuring Aubrey and Riff.

Entertaining and sexy story. High school sweethearts - can they overcome the issues that separated them in the first place and continue their love affair?

If you enjoyed Sinners on Tour and Sole Regret series, you will love this series.

I really liked Noel but I just didn't love Lanie. I love the story but I would have liked it more without Lanie's dramatics...a little ok but every turn she had drama.

I didn't really like a single thing about this book.

Firstly, every single thing about this plot seemed contrived and forced. From how she 'had' to meet up with her ex to how he tried to keep her, to how her job treated her. EVERYTHING was a 'huh?' moment. Every pivot point was ridiculous and forced.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Spoilers <<<<<<<<<<<<<
For example, she finds out he has a kid, from a one night stand that he quite frankly can not remember having. He isn't even sure it's his because he has absolutely NO recollection of having sex with her, no matter how wasted he was that night. And instead of trying to figure out what happened, or even just standing by him (it was an UNDERSTANDABLE fuck up! One that had NOTHING to do with her due to her having dumped HIM 4 YEARS ago) she says she can't be the 'other woman'. That made me roll my fucking eyes and contemplate giving up on the book right there. That isn't 'straight laced' that's just fucking rash decision making. She didn't even take a fucking MINUTE to think about it!!!

Secondly, the 'heroine' isn't 'straight laced' as the book describes her, she's just a fucking moron.

Thirdly, her best friend is nothing but a plot mover and a complete fucking twit, constantly pushing her in the wrong direction.

Fourthly, and this is the MAIN reason I hate this book, the entire book was one betrayal after another!! Betrayal after betrayal and NO ONE gets what they deserve!!!!!!!!!!!! There is NOT A SINGLE BACK STABBER that gets any sort of instant karma. In fact, most of the backstabbers not only get off scott free, but it's not even acknowledge just how deeply the stab was! That is totally unacceptable! Forgive his father?!?!!?! Are they fucking kidding me?!

Fifthly, this was a very boring story. Nothing was interesting, the entire book is a loop about how much he loves her, and how she can't give in. blah blah fucking BLAH!!! And why couldn't she give in? Simply because she hasn't a brain in her fucking head.

Yeah, I didn't like this book at all. Not the writing style (which I usually give points for) nor the plot, nor the characters. NOTHING.

Easy Read, Fell in Love with Lane and Noel, page turner, Loved it!
When things get going I am a bit hurt that Lane is holding back so much since she is the one that broke Noels heart but when things start to go on track and the only thing that might get complicated is the logistics of her living in New York and him travel but oh No people there is a big Whack in the head I certainly didn't see coming! Wow my heart was broken and it wasn't just for Lane but for Noel too. There was no way to get past this Whack. You will have to find out how it all ends.
Closure is ok I certainly am craving more so I hope to get bit's of Lane and Noel
in Rock The Bed which is Aubrey & Riff's story coming Feb 2013
Aubrey & Riff get things going in this book so I am excited to see where it goes.

    Quotes:

    "Don't think, Lane, just feel."

"The way he says my name makes my toes curl. 'I'm still crazy over you. I know it's been a while, but it feels like just yesterday when you walked out of my life. When you left me, I was so empty. There was this huge, gaping hole in my heart that no one could fill. I tried to get over you. I really did, but you were always there. Every woman I kissed was you.' "

"Fuck the entire world. All that matters is what you think of me. "

"I don't get where he gets off thinking he should be able to have his cake and eat it too because new flash, this cake store is fucking closed."

Ever read a book that has had so much hype, and that everyone seemed to love, however, you just weren’t blown away like everyone else? I seem to find that a lot lately. I am not saying I didn’t like this book; I did. It just wasn’t the ”OMG this book is great” kind of book.

Lane is an intern for a big New York ad agency. Noel is now a big rock star. These two have a steamy and heart breaking past. They were high school sweethearts. Well, until Lane selfishly dumped him before she went off to college. After having his heart stomped on and his family turning their backs on him for wanting to pursue his dream instead of college, Noel embraced the rock star life style….. Until Lane came back into his life.

Lane has taken the task of heading up Noel and his band’s new charity campaign. Noel has ensured that she is the only one on this project in order to gain her back. Lane can’t seem to resist his charm and the love they still share. She does her best to not cross the line of professionalism, but sometimes old habits and feelings just won’t allow the temptation to pass. Eventually, they both have obstacles they need to hurdle and heal from. The question is, can their love survive those secrets or are they doomed to not have the love they both have longed for over the last few years?

I can’t put my finger on why I didn’t absolutely love this book. I noticed some similarities between this book and another book I read not too long ago, but cannot figure out what book it is. I seemed to know Noel’s secret from the get-go. I can see where people really loved it, but I just liked it. Don’t let my just liking the book turn you off though, it is a good book, it just didn’t hit me the way I had anticipated.
