About this audiobook

It's finally time! Detective Lindsay Boxer is in labor--while two killers are on the loose.

Lindsay Boxer's beautiful baby is born! But after only a week at home with her new daughter, Lindsay is forced to return to work to face two of the biggest cases of her career.

A rising star football player for the San Francisco 49ers is the prime suspect in a grisly murder. At the same time, Lindsay is confronted with the strangest story she's ever heard: An eccentric English professor has been having vivid nightmares about a violent murder and he's convinced is real. Lindsay doesn't believe him, but then a shooting is called in-and it fits the professor's description to the last detail.

Lindsay doesn't have much time to stop a terrifying future from unfolding. But all the crimes in the world seem like nothing when Lindsay is suddenly faced with the possibility of the most devastating loss of her life.

In the 12th of Never, Patterson will you have you reeling from the Women's Murder Club cases and personal lives. Between serial killers, illnesses, trials full of surprises, and relationship drama you will not want to put this book down.

James Patterson's stories compel a reader to continue to the next chapter, therefore, the book ends quickly. The Women's Murder Club series displays feminine friendship and the men circle around this elite society, but never enter. Lindsay Boxer dominates the story, as baby Julie makes her entrance on a stormy night with the assistance of the EMTs. The story balances life, love, and death as a high-profile corpse disappears from the morgue and a situation of a football player and his clingy girlfriend emerges. Patterson's four females embellish a career-driven woman who must sometimes sacrifice normality for a job. Patterson reminds me of Sidney Sheldon, but Sheldon presents women with a gentler personality.

The big news at the beginning of this novel is that Lindsey is having her kid. That was also the plot that got me through this crazy jumble of plots and subplots in the novel. Little Julie has a very exciting start to her life, and while the twists in the Baby Julie storyline weren't surprising, it was a nicely plotted and written story.None of the other storylines surprised me either. Richie and Cindy are having some problems with their engagement, Claire is having trouble at work, a body disappears and she gets blamed for it. And Yuki is trying a dirty lawyer who is accused of killing his wife. At first her plot is the one that is going the best, but of course, that turns on a dime too and gets interesting (second most interesting story in the novel). There's also a new intern at Lindsey and Richie's precinct. Mackie, a young woman doing some sort of psych grad work or something.I liked this particular entry in the Women's Murder Club series a bit more than usual, but still, there was just so much going on. It was like a three-ring circus. I felt like I missed a part of all the stories because I needed six eyes to read all of them at once.It also seemed like the Women's Murder Club just isn't as much of a crime solving juggernaut anymore. That was one of the things I liked about the series, they managed to solve the crimes when the 'big strong, blah blah blah men' couldn't. Now, instead, it seems like the men are doing the solving and the books are all about all those boring hetero relationships instead of the trails and autopsies, the cases, the stories... and what happened to the mysteries?Still, it was a mostly enjoyable and fast read, I just wish that they'd go back to the soul of the Women's Murder club books again. One mystery, all four ladies (I still miss Jill).

Another good outing in the Women's Murder Club Seties, with at least three different strands to the story. Things are changing for at least two of the Club, with Lindsey about to be taken through the wringer and as a result losing focus on the job. This was an interesting episode on many levels. I particularly enjoyed the court case! The book was however left on a cliff-hanger so I do need to get to the next one!

I really enjoy the Women's Murder Club series and was disappointed when the TV show didn't succeed. This is another good one. Fast-paced, filled with drama and twists and turns. If you like this series this is worth the read.

Usual James Patterson style. Good fast paced story although lacked a bit of the unexpected excitement. Still a good read though.

In "The 12th of Never" by J. Patterson and M. Paetro the story of Lindsey Boxer and the Women's Murder Club continues with the arrival of Lindsey's new baby is a less than perfect situation. A seemingly crazy professor, a jailed serial killer and a deadly football player all have stories that combine to make a light and enjoyable mystery read. Although there wasn't much about the other Women's Murder Club characters, they all were involved to some extent in the story line. Probably the most touching part of the story involved Lindsey, Joe and their baby. The baby's illness was an ongoing part of the story line, but it did not make me think very highly of Lindsey. I haven't read several of the last Patterson 'WMC' series as they have become so very predictable, but I was given a copy and it was an extremely fast read. Another great Women's Murder Club book. The story revolves around Lindsey Boxer and the arrival of her baby. And of course, there is always a mystery and some nasty people involved. I have enjoyed all of this series as I really like the characters and like following what happens to them, their exploits as they bounce around each other and their latest adventure.

Familiar characters make this book a comfortable read. Cliff hangers and multiple faced paced plots are classic Patterson. Too much violence in the newer patterson books.

A typical Women's Murder Club book. Several storylines going on and the continuing sagas of each of the Club's members, especially Lindsey Boxer & her baby. There is a hook in the last sentence that leads the reader to think there will be at least one more book in this series.

Pretty good story that mirrors life for a lot of women: have a baby, go back to work. Then, the adventures begin. Lots of action. I always wonder who writes Patterson's books, this one has much female input. Fast paced with good characters that we all know and adore. Where's the next book in the series?

Honestly, I do not think I need to write a review as the reviews before mine say it all. Formulaic.

This was one of the better Women's Murder Club books for me in a while.

There wasn't a lot of language but a good story.

I didn't see where the women had as much to do with solving this one as in some of the past but it was well written, moved quickly and made me want to stay in the car and hear what happened.

Once of the best things for me of this book on tape was the music in the background. I love the chase scene.

    Well done.

I hate to say it, but I think I'm getting tired of the gals in the Women's Murder Club. Lindsay's feels guilty about going back to work when her daughter is ill (perhaps gravely) but she has two major cases to solve, Cindy is having relationship problems, Claire gets demoted when a body disappears from her morgue, and Yuki is trying yet another case of her career. How much drama can 4 women have all at the same time? Like all of Patterson's books it's a fast read with lots of action, but it's just not as good as the previous novels in this series. One has to wonder how much Patterson is actually writing these days as opposed to his co-writers, because this series has defintely lost some of its magic.

I loved how Lindsey reacted to having her baby. I think it is so like her to be head over heels in love with her new baby, yet drawn to go back to work after only 4 weeks. The tension between the baby's need for her and her desire to be part of the team involved in a former case was handled in a very believable way. On the other hand, Claire didn't seem to have her customary self-confidence and drive, and I wondered where that went? There wasn't much interaction among the four women, which I think hurt the book overall.

Murder, mayhem - throw in a sick baby - what more could you ask for? Lindsey Boxer is almost stretched to her limit in this one - balancing her life as a homicide detective with her life as a mom. Good one!

This was truly one of the finest true-crime books I've read, because it didn't just focus on the crime itself, or the perpetrators at the time of the crime, but really delved into Manson's childhood, what made him what he became, and what made "the Family" who followed him cling so tightly to him. Guinn also expertly weaves in the history of the era, both with the music industry and the political upheaval.

The story was great and I love the characters in this series. I deducted a star though because I got annoyed at the author for rehashing things that just happened 50 pages ago.

This installment of the Women's Murder club series is not a disappointment. I had a hard time putting the book down. Well written and a lot of variety events happened that kept me reading on to get answers to all the adventures and mystery throughout. It started with Lindsay giving birth to her daughter. The story leads into two killers who need to be stopped, while the police department was being detoured to a professor who keeps going into the precinct with dreams of murder before they happen. Plus, Clair is in turmoil and hot water because she lost a body in the morgue…. Fun as always and a must read.
