About this audiobook

DEMETRIUS-He's the hulking, brooding warrior even his fellow Guardians avoid. Too dark. Too damaged. And given his heritage, he knows it's best to keep everyone at arm's length.

Isadora is missing. The words pound through his head like a frantic drumbeat. For her own protection, Demetrius did all he could to avoid the fragile princess, his soul mate. And now she's gone-kidnapped. To get her back, he'll have to go to the black place in his soul he's always shunned.

As daemons ravage the human realm and his loyalty to the Guardians is put to the ultimate test, Demetrius realizes that Isadora is stronger than anyone thought.

And finally letting her into his heart may be the only way to save them both.

Elisabeth Naughton

Before topping multiple bestseller lists—including those of the New York Times, USA Today, and the Wall Street Journal—Elisabeth Naughton taught middle-school science. A voracious reader, she soon discovered she had a knack for creating stories with a chemistry of their own. The spark turned into a flame, and Naughton now writes full-time. When not dreaming up new stories, Naughton can be found spending time with her husband and three children in their western Oregon home. Unspeakable is the third book in her Deadly Secrets series, following Protected, Gone, and Repressed, which was a 2017 RITA winner in romantic suspense. Quickie Book Review:Tempted is the third installment of the Eternal Guardians. In the past couple of books, Demetrius has practically scared me more than any other guardian. He is icy and cold and very rough around the edges, but in this book, you see the true center of Demetrius and I was completely head over heels for Demetrius. There is a lot more to him than meets the eye. When Isadora gets kidnapped and she and Demetrius are thrown together in a place where they will have to rely on each other to survive, a desire flames between them. Demetrius has known for years that Isadora is his mate, but he doesn't feel worthy of her, so he shuts her out and tries to force her to hate him. But when her life is in danger, everything changes, and Isadora starts to see a man that cares but refuses to show it. Isadora shows her true colors and you see a inner strength that grows with each day, and I love her fighting spirit. There was so much more in this story than I expected, and it keeps your mind constantly overwhelmed and engaged till the very end. The suspense and thrills seem to never end and the ending was purely satisfying and you are left with the happy bliss feeling that you crave every time you read a good romance. And oh boy was this well done!! A intense, passionate, and exciting adventure packed with dangerous creatures, plot full of intrigue, a mystery to unlock and enough romance to send tingles all over!! CAPTIVATING!!

Descended from Jason and the witch Medea, Demetrius is the darkest and most secretive of the Argonauts. As a result of his secrets, Demetrius has built barriers between himself and others, especially Isadora, heiress to the throne of Argolea and his soul mate. But now circumstances have thrown Demetrius and Isadora together and they will have to overcome their differences if they are to survive the perils to come.

After a difficult start, this series is finally making strides and living up to its captivating mythology.

At the beginning of the series, Isadora was nothing more than a spoiled and pampered princess whose submissiveness inevitably resulted in the image of a weak and ineffectual woman who would be nothing more than a political pawn once she gained the throne. All of this changes in Tempted as Isadora finally comes into her own, growing both in confidence and power as the story progresses. My one small nitpick is she tends to spend much of her time, especially in the first few chapters, unconscious or sleeping while the action goes on around her.

Demetrius is the epitome of the grim, glowering and enigmatic hero whose internal conflict results in his distancing himself from those he needs the most. The twists and turns on his path toward confronting his personal demons makes for exciting reading and the last few chapters had me on the edge of my seat.

While the focus of the book is on Demetrius and Isadora’s engaging love/hate relationship, there are also some developments in the ongoing storyline pertaining to the Orb of Kronus and it will be interesting to see where Naughton takes this as the series continues.

Elisabeth Naughton's Eternal Guardian series is highly intoxicating! I'm a huge fan of Greek mythology and I love the way she incorporates some of the gods and goddesses into her stories. If you haven't read this series...GO READ IT!

Loved it! I always knew that Demetrius and Isadora's story was going to be one of my very favorites of the series this far. Loved to see how their relationship grow and to see Isadora turning into this incredible woman and Demetrius learning to face his fears and to no give up in front of obstacles. Amazing!

I've been waiting to see how this story would play out since Demetrius flipped out in Entwined at the thought of being bound to Isadora. Sure Isadora came off as a truly pampered princess in the first two books and maybe someone as hard as Demetrius would have a hard time being mated to someone like her, but his reaction was totally over the top. However, reaction makes complete sense when we learn that he knows Isadora is his soul mate but given the evil her believes lurks inside him, he's done everything he can to make her hate him.

What we find with Demetrius is a man who is scarred by who his mother is (I won't reveal that one) and by the abuse he suffered by his father. He feels he isn't worthy of anyone like Isadora and rather than give himself any hope, he lashes out in hopes of making them hate him. He is, in fact, one of those alpha males that I love. Hard as rocks on the outside, but nice and squishy on the inside.

Isadora, who was a little annoying at times in the earlier books, truly proves herself in Tempted. She may not be used to having to do things for herself, but she's willing to try. She was stronger than Demetrius or herself thought she was and became the strong warrior woman that our Eternal Guardian's sole mates need to be. Her ultimate triumph came when she finally stood up to her father and demanded he give her her birthright in order to save the man she loves.

The next book in the series, Enraptured (which comes out April 2012), will feature Orpheus who will journey into the underworld to save his brother Gryphon from the Underworld. Seeing as Apophos stole his body for his evil deeds, this should be quite interesting.

If you love Greek mythology, these sexy Argonaut decedents are just the men you'll want to sync your teeth (or nails) into.

I haven't read the first book, but I'd definitely like to rectify that. This was a fun and interesting read with a fresh take on Greek mythology. I enjoyed it a great deal and look forward to more of this series.

Argonaut's descendent Eternal Guardian Demetrius is a walking bad attitude with a short temper and a dangerous secret.Isadora, heir to the throne, is tougher than her pale blond beauty suggests - and she's learned to stay far, far away from Demetrius. But when she's kidnapped and set to be sacrifices the dark, sarcastic warrior may be her only hope.Naughton puts several interesting twists on Greek mythology, and I suspect this is a series that will get stronger over time. This installments a bit uneven, but in general it's a promising start. Likeable characters, good dialogue, but heavy handed presentation.
