About this audiobook
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia London launches a triumphant, emotional, heartwarming story about finding love, family and home.
Madeline Pruett has made up for a lonely childhood and being raised by an irresponsible single mom by creating a solitary world where timetables and highlighters are essential for the predictability she craves. But Madeline is shocked out of her carefully constructed life by word that a father she never knew has died and left her an inheritance and, surprisingly, two unknown sisters. Madeline hopes that she can fly to Colorado, meet her sisters, discover her inheritance, and return to Orlando in a few days to close the biggest deal of her budding real estate career and get back to what she knows best: a quiet life.
For years, Luke Kendrick has juggled school and career and rescuing his family from illness, death and financial crisis. But he has never lost sight of his goals: building and selling his own dream homes. Just when it seems that dream might finally materialize, Luke is called home to Pine River, Colorado to reclaim the ranch his father lost in a gentlemen’s agreement. He is not surprised—Luke’s family knows he will put his life on hold to rescue them…again. But Luke is surprised by a sexy yet uptight button-up woman in impractical shoes who thinks his ranch now belongs to her.
Madeline isn’t sure how to put order to a sprawling, rundown ranch, not to mention a pair of sisters who are nothing like what she imagined or hoped them to be. The only thing she’s sure of is that careful planning is useless in a place where roads have names like Sometimes Pass and men as ruggedly handsome as Luke Kendrick behave so unpredictably.
As Luke and Madeline go toe to toe over the future of the ranch, sparks fly as hot and fiery as their kisses. Madeline thinks she’s the expert, but it’s Luke who teaches her a thing or two—about breaking down walls, finding home, and the true meaning of family.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Madeline Pruett had a very lonely childhood. Her mother was a self centered alcoholic who was more interested in her 'revolving door men' then in her daughter. Madeline never knew her father, but there were several step-fathers. None of which were around long enough for Madeline to really know what a father was supposed to be like. Madeline had made a life for herself in Orlando where she grew up with her mother. She was a realtor, owned her own condo and on rare occasions, she dated. Then one day she found out that she actually did have a father, but he had died and left her a ranch in Colorado. She also had 2 sisters who also inherited the ranch with her. So, shw wrapped up what was needed in Orlando and flew to Colorado to meet her sisters and their ranch. Luke Kendrick was the older son of the man who had owned the ranch. His second son was very ill and the medical bills had put him a horrible financial position. So a friend of his had offered to buy his ranch and hold it until he could afford to buy it back...at the same price. Unfortunately the man died and the gentlemen's agreement to allow him to buy it back was not in writing. Luke found all this out when he came to visit his brother and father. He also got to meet the sisters who had inherited the property from their father. This was a very well written book. The main character were very interesting and were developed throughout the book. The supporting characters were mostly family and helped to fill in the story nicely. I loved the plot and all the twists and turns written into it. I was a great read and I am looking forward to more books in this series.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A new contemporary romance series, "Pine River Trilogy", from author Julia London, begins with "Homecoming Ranch". Grant Tyler was literally larger than life, living his life as he chose, and making up his own rules when the rules of others didn't suit. Married five times, fathering three children by three different women, his personal relationships were a muddled mess. In his dying days, he felt a small touch of remorse and advised his business manager that he wanted his children to inherit all that he had left. The trouble was, there wasn't much left, and his three daughters didn't know much about him and nothing about each other. What was left for them to inherit was a rundown property in Pine River, Colorado. "Homecoming Ranch" was obtained by Grant Tyler when an old friend, Bob Kendrick, is having financial difficulties. Grant "buys" the ranch, promising Bob that he can buy it back later for the same amount for which it was sold. Bob and his younger son, Leo, who is wheelchair bound by a debilitating neuromuscular disease, move to a small house and try to make the best of things. Bob's older son, Luke, is living in Denver working as a builder, hoping for a successful career in construction. When Luke's aunt calls him, worried about his father and brother, Luke heads to Pine River. On the way he stops to help a pretty young woman change a flat tire on her rental car. Madeline Pruett has come to Colorado to claim her share of the ranch left to her by a father she never knew. Raised by a mother who moved from man to man, and house to house, Madeline grew into a young woman obsessed with keeping control and order in her life. A real estate agent with a growing career, Madeline sees the potential in the acreage of the ranch property. What she didn't foresee was the emotional tangle of getting to know her two half-sisters, Emma and Libby, and the ownership issues with the Kendricks. Most of all she never expected her roadside rescuer to be Luke Kendrick--and the sparks of passion and need that would flare between them. "Homecoming Ranch" is a compelling contemporary romance, given a boost of humor from the frank, funny on-and-off narration from Leo Kendrick and his rascally, wry observations of people and their problems.Book Copy Gratis Amazon Vine
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Madeline Pruett, lived a nice organized life as a promising realtor in Florida. That was till the day she found out her absent father had died and left her and her two half sisters, that she didn't know existed a ranch in Colorado. She is tempted to refuse her inheritance, from this father who she only knew in name. Pushed by her mother and friend Trudi, she rents a car and treks to Homecoming Ranch with every intention of selling her interest.Luke Kendrick has given his all to his family and sacrificed so much over the years. He gave up a career to return home to care for his dying mother. His brother Leo, (a scene stealer) developed a neurological illness that is slowly draining his life away. He struggled to get himself educated and was finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The ranch had been in is family for generations till his dad was forced to sell it to help pay medical costs. A legal stab in the back, left a recovery clause worthless and left Luke and his dream of owning the ranch in the dust.
Luke and Madeline both have different plans then what karma has planed for them. Everything gets very complicated. Her big break is back in Florida. The sisters don't agree. He has no legal standing. He does have the right to have a run-on on the property. She gets caught up in the planning and extends her stay. They start looking at each other differently. I love a good romance about good people, and Ms. London gave it to me. Madeline, was the funny, sweet, sometimes wimpy, mostly strong, somewhat insecure, controlling, trying to make it in the world woman. Luke was a hard working, never give up, standup guy with a heart of gold. I couldn't help but cheer for their happiness. I swooned over the budding romance, cried when things went sour, basically I think I felt every emotion. I loved the side characters and can't wait for the sisters stories. There is a lot going on there. I felt good when I finished, satisfied.Romance readers do not miss this one. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What a fantastic story!
