Kelli Maine will leave readers perplexed with the emotional rollercoaster of Taken. Merrick and Rachael offer an intensity that will borderline overpowering through this story. As readers battle between uncertainty and lust they will uncover a heart pounding story that will ensuring their dedication for this debuting series. Maine pushes readers to dissect their own psyche to question the thin line between lust and fear. Many readers may find this type of story disturbing, but other will find to be a carefully crafted story full of passion.~BookWhisperer Reviewer JO~

This is a quick read only 181 pages.
The writing style is nothing like I have ever read before. I really don't know how to explain it but it's all in Rachael's voice. When she talks about Merrick it's like she it telling their story to him. I know that doesn't make any sense but you will understand when you read it. It's not a bad thing just different.
I think I go Stockholm syndrome for Rachael at first I couldn't help but Love Merrick. He seemed lost and even know he didn't go about things the right way his heart was actually in the right place. Rachael has so many emotions going through her you really can feel all of them. The last straw that forces Rachael to leave well I think I was more pissed for her than she was- It had nothing to do with the act itself but the who and if Merrick even thought about Rachael he would have known that wasn't something she would have done at that time in their relationship- You have to read it to understand what I'm talking about I won't give it away.

    Quotes:

" 'I haven't smiled this much in a long, long time.' 'And I haven't even kissed you yet.' "

"Right now I'm calling it The Forbidden Destination and trying like hell to find a map."

"Of course he's stupid. He's a man, They're all stupid. That's why we're here - women were put on the earth to smack some sense into them. They think with their d**cks. We're their brains."
