      Consider yourself WARNED - this book is the first of a series and it just ends. Full stop, no closure for any of the characters. You will have to read the next book if you want to know how any of this works out.I LOVED this book until it ended. Everything about it drew me in, and I turned pages like crazy. And then...it just ended. Every single character was left dangling with a full-stop cliff hanger. I've never been so furious. I don't mind books that are part of a series with an over-all arc, but I expect each individual book to have some form of closure at the end. This had none of it. Worst of all, there was no warning that this would be the case - that this was the first book in a series. If I had known that, I wouldn't have started it until the next book was available. I feel so used and frustrated.

      This one didn't work for me at all. I hate writing less than favorable reviews. If I am not enjoying a book, I will usually not finish the book and don't spend any time writing a review for it. This was one of those books that kept me reading and things were heading towards a generous 3-star rating before I got to the last parts of this book.This book is told through journal entries from a group of high school students. It took me a while to really remember what was going on in each of the kid's lives. The two male students were a little more distinctive but the three female students tended to blend a bit in my head. I did eventually get a better feel for each of the characters and it helped that their lives started to become more connected as the book progressed.My biggest problem with this book is the ending. I should really say the lack of an ending. I have read books that end in cliffhangers and while it is not my favorite, I have learned to deal with it. This was worse than a normal cliffhanger. This felt like someone ripped a book in half and only gave you part of it. There was no resolution whatsoever when this book came to an abrupt stop. Instead of making me want to rush out and grab the next book in this series, I am completely turned off from this series. I am not recommending this book to others. I liked the concept of following this group of students through their journal entries but considering the fact that there is no resolution when the book comes to an abrupt stop, I found it to be a very unsatisfying read.I received a digital review copy of this book from the Little, Brown Books for Young Readers - Poppy via NetGalley.

      I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to. Every character was interesting, and their way of thinking and viewing the events happening around them never failed to surprise or entertain me. I'm sad that it ended the way it did, but I now have the sequel so any questions I have should be answered soon enough.

      I requested this book from Netgalley because the synopsis is intense. I was drawn to this book and interested in what these characters would be like, and they were interesting to say the least.There were a lot of lower reviews on Goodreads when I checked them and I was a little disappointed to find out I am one of the few that enjoyed this book. Yes, it ends abruptly without resolution -- which I despise; and yes, the characters are all overly dramatic -- but this is how I remember high school. Full of secrecy and gossip and overly dramatic and angsty, maybe it was just me but this book flashed me back to that time period and I found it fun to read.Lisi Harrison sets up the book as a series of journal entries from five students, 3 girls, 2 guys, and they are very different and yet the same which is comforting and intriguing. Since we are in journals, we learn deep secrets, family problems, and the like, not just the school day happenings. I found this different from many teen books. Granted there is still gossip and hidden love and angst so it isn't too far off from your normal YA book, but it was funny and I liked it.Each student has a different writing style: short and sweet, with footnotes, overly dramatic, to the point, and over the top which breaks up the reading very well. I found myself liking one character in the beginning and completely changing my opinions of them when we got to the end (and so much happens right at the end!)Sadly, I was upset to learn that this is a series (like way too many YA books now) and the ending was a cliffhanger (again!) and some of the friendships rubbed me the wrong way, so not 5 stars. (

      I liked it quite a bit more than I expected. Will I ever read the Clique series? Probably not.

      I am actually surprised at how much I liked this book. When I first started this I was a bit wary about it and it actually made me feel a bit old (They referenced a member of the boy band "One Direction" and I had to look up the guy they were talking about to get the reference) but the more I read this the more hooked I was by it. I think I would have really loved this book back when I was a teen.I was really interested in reading the journals of all of the characters which is a bit odd for me because usually there is a character or two that I don't like. This book was a 4 star book for me until I got to the end. It just ends abruptly when the shit is about to hit the fan and I was left like "What the hell?" I know that this is the beginning of a series but come on this just ended right in the middle of the story. I will continue reading this series because I am definitely interested in seeing what happens to the characters.I would recommend this book if you are looking for a fast young-adult read that will hook you in. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for a copy of this.
