About this audiobook
The sequel to the New York Times bestselling House of Secrets—hailed by J. K. Rowling as ""a breakneck, jam-packed roller coaster of an adventure""—this second installment by Hollywood director Chris Columbus (of Harry Potter fame) and bestselling author Ned Vizzini (It's Kind of a Funny Story) is full of even more explosive twists and turns.
Since the siblings' last adventure, life in the Walker household is much improved—the family is rich and the Wind Witch is banished. But no Walker will be safe until she is found. Summoning her to San Francisco brings all the danger that comes with her, and puts the Walkers in the crosshairs of a mysterious journey through Denver Kristoff's books. As the Walkers travel from ancient Rome to World War II to Tibet, they are tested in ways that cut deeper than before—by Denver Kristoff, the Wind Witch, and one another.
Fantasy fiction fans who enjoy Rick Riordan will find much to love in this thrilling and action-packed novel.

Reviews for House of Secrets

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is definitely a kids book as the three walker children are propelled into a series of adventures when they are plunged into the plots of books from a library owned by a man named Denver Kristoff. How else could a modern day house end up in the Roman coliseum 2,000 years ago only to have the kids attacked by a band of Nazis from another book. This is for a child who is able to suspend all logic and just go with the wacky twists and turns of the plot.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Im afraid all you have to do is read my rather dismal review of Book I in this series to know what I think of this book- frankly, I couldn't finish it , which is rare for me.
After Id read the book and written my review I looked for others and found many many insightful comments - it seems a shame the writers didn't do the same. It occurs to me that if perhaps providing ARCs wasn't viewed as solely a marketing tool and writers and editors actually read them and applied some of the constructive criticisms ( altho, Im afraid mine was not very constructive for this series lol)they'd find a better book in the end.
But, this will probably be made into a movie and it may be a lot better in that format.I received an ARC form the publiher, which (obviously)in no way affected my review.
