About this audiobook

Cade has always taken risks . . .

Cade takes cares of his sick younger sister by doing what he does best-cage fighting and starring in adult movies, his newest harebrained moneymaking scheme designed to pay for his sister's growing medical bills. But when his latest gig finds him admitted to the ER sporting an erection from hell, thanks to the little pill given to him by the director, he can't get the pretty little nurse who treated him out of his head, even though he knows she's so far out of his league it should be illegal.

Alexa has always played it safe . . .

Tired of being pigeonholed as the sweet, innocent one, hardworking nursing student Alexa has been looking for ways to break out of her Goody Two Shoes image. When her friend suggests the outlandish idea of losing her virginity to the sexy and sure-to-be-skilled porn star, Alexa is mortified. But then when Cade refuses her proposition, she finds herself pissed off and embarrassed. When she tracks him down to give him a piece of her mind, she isn't prepared for what she finds. Watching him care for his little sister tugs at her heart, and suddenly it's no longer just about losing her virginity, but about helping Cade. Because Lord help her, she might just be falling for a porn star . . .

I've been looking forward to this one because of the interesting premise.
I won't say it didn't deliver, because it sort of did, but I didn't end up loving it.

I loved the first half of it, especially the first chapter. Actually, I read the sample and didn't even consider that the rest of the book may not be good. So yeah, the first half of the book was pretty good but then it all sort of went down from there.

My main problem was with the heroine. For how much we were told that she was trying to make a life for herself and be independent, that she's a natural caregiver (her friend sort of informs you that she always goes around helping homeless people and animals) - we weren't really shown a lot of it. To me, she just seemed like a spoiled little rich girl, all the time.
And at times, I felt like she was just acting like a child. She knew what he did, and the way she acted that morning...IT'S A JOB. And then she falls apart after they split and turns into an alcoholic? I just don't know...I was kind of skimming her parts by the end because she annoyed me so much.

The saving grace of this book is Caden. What a wonderful, well-rounded character. He is caring, resourceful and most of all, he's willing to do anything for his little sister - his priorities are refreshingly straight. He has a purpose. I loved the way he was with Lily.
The introduction of his character was awesome.

I kind of wish that the main conflict of the story remained the difference between their social statuses. Because everything else the author threw their way were just petty things.

The writing was great but there was no chemistry between these two. And we are just not shown enough of their relationship to really feel it. Most of the time I felt like there were scenes missing in order to get the full picture - they meet CUT she goes to his place and meets Lily CUT all of a sudden she's spending all of her time there but we aren't shown this CUT they fall into this relationship, and they're supposed to be really close CUT... at least that's how it felt to me.

I say read it if only for Caden and Lily. The opening scene really was gripping. And I did like the book, just not as much as I expected.

Simply put Hard to Love was a delightful! It was a short, angsty, and hot! And OH what a way to start a book than in the ER, especially considering the "hard" predicament that landed Cade in there. I was giggling like a school girl, I could only imagine how Alexa felt! I like that Cade is willing to do whatever it takes to take care of his little sister, even at the cost of pain, embarrassment, or love. I love the relationship the Cade, Alexa, and his little sister form!

    Cover Love and Writing
I love the cover.. can you say HOT!?! Ryan's writing was great and there is a duel, first person POV! So you get angsty from both sides!

    Swoonworthy Points: 8
This book has some pretty fan-yourself-hot scenes! Cade, being the good guy that he is, declines Alexa's proposition to take her virginity. But he can only resist so long. The two eased into the situation, got to know one another, fell in love with each other, worked up to that point.

Overall, I would recommend this book.. especially if you want a short and light angsty read, a HEA, and some smexin.

    Holy Hard On!!
Awesome book. I think the description is a bit wrong as Alexa didn't get turned down per-say and the only reason she went to see him was to give him a piece of her mind but not because of turning her down- you will understand when you read it. Gosh I fell in love with Cade off the bat but I can't see who wouldn't given his description & the fact everything he does he does for his sister. Things get heated and there's a few Hot Steamy Sex scene- nothing detailed for raunchy.
Things of course go haywire and it takes a long time to even maybe get back on track but then they go off track again until Cade finally spells things out for Alexa. There's a Epilogue which makes the book have a Fabulous ending- but I always want more :)

    Quote:

"A girl that likes hot wings and beer, and now she tells me she is a Bears fan too. Lord have mercy. My resolve to stay away from her just got more interesting."

It was completely beautiful..Wonderful people who have their own problems..Cade has his sister ill with a horrible disease..Struggling financially to get through with the bills..With no other family..Alexa is such a pure innocent goot to the very core person..She desperately wants to help people, to give back to the society, to be useful..It's very nice that they didn't get to change themselves at all, even though they are 2 different personalities..In the end they just make it work..They complete each other and it;s nice to see 2 people compromising for a happy life together..Of course they didn't end up like that with no bumps in between...

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Caden, Alexa an Lily!! The opening line will hook you right away " Dammit. I knew a four-hour erection wasn't normal." Both characters could very easily be someone that you personally know! Will be reading this one again!!!

Fast and entertaining read, although I didn't really agree with how Caden led his life at some point in the story and I found myself thinking that Alexa was a little TOO naïve for my taste. Through the middle to the end, things picked up more speed and the plot became a little more interesting. Sweet epilogue.

This book gave me moments of bright sunshine peeking through the grey clouds….. Cliché? Yes, and so was the book BUT I can forgive the predictable plot because Caden (the hero) is a hot, commanding alpha male with a super sweet heart.I also really enjoyed the alternating POV.If you can forgive the grammatical errors, you’re in for a treat!

What a Great short read this was .... He call's her Cupcake LOL, I thought it was cute .

    Cade’s always taken risks…

Cade takes cares of his sick younger sister by doing what he does best--cage fighting and starring in adult movies, his newest harebrained moneymaking scheme designed to pay for his sister’s growing medical bills. But when his latest gig finds him admitted to the ER sporting an erection from hell, thanks to the little pill given to him by the director, he can’t get the pretty little nurse who treated him out of his head, even though he knows she’s so far out of his league it should be illegal.

    Alexa’s always played it safe…

Tired of being pigeonholed as the sweet, innocent one, hardworking nursing student Alexa has been looking for ways to break out of her Goody Two-shoes image. When her friend suggests the outlandish idea of losing her virginity to the sexy and sure-to-be-skilled porn star, Alexa is mortified. But then when Cade refuses her proposition, she finds herself pissed off and embarrassed. When she tracks him down to give him a piece of her mind, she isn’t prepared for what she finds. Watching him care for his little sister tugs at her heart, and suddenly it’s no longer just about losing her virginity, but about helping Cade. Because Lord help her, she might actually be falling for a porn star…

I loved how Alexa's character was sweet and caring. She was absolutely a force all on her own devoting her life to everyone. I loved how she did not care that Cade was not from money and country clubs like her. She loved him for him and the way he was with regards to Lily . I loved how she stepped right up to form a bond with Lily and be a part of her everyday life .

“You’re going to be the death of me, cupcake.”

Cade , Sexy Male Alpha , Porn Star , Hotness wrapped all into one Man . Cade came from a broken home with parents who where more worried about their drugs then him or his sister Lily. He has full custody of his sister Lily who has special Needs and he does and stops at nothing to make sure she has the care and things that she needs most . That right there sold me on Cade from the start ...

"It was as if my dick thought we were here to pick up a willing participant to ease his discomfort. Sadly,no, little man. I felt his pain."

Definitely a great short read and storyline . Lex and Cade definitely had the chemistry and I love how it was a slow build up and not rushed right into it all . Kendall Is a Great writer and always tells a story that has you hooked right from the start all the way to the end ...
