About this audiobook

Take a road trip with the undead . . . in this latest in the argeneau series by New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands

For Basha Argeneau, anything is better than facing her estranged family. Even hiding out in sweltering southern California. But when a sexy immortal in black shows up determined to bring her back to the clan, she'll do anything to keep far, far away from the past she can't outrun.

Marcus Notte isn't here to play games—especially not with someone as crazy as the infamous blonde. Asked by Lucian Argeneau to bring her back for questioning, Marcus is determined to carry out Lucian's request—no matter how the seductive little mind-reading vamp feels about it.

Basha doesn't mind fighting fire with fire, especially with a hot immortal involved. But if he wants to take her away, he'll have to catch her first . . .

I enjoyed this latest romance about the immortal Argeneau family. I liked the plot, the carnival setting and thought the heroine was so compassionate despite or maybe because of her circumstances. Basha/Divine is hiding from her family and Marcus is sent to find her suspecting she may have gone rogue.

Basha Argeneau has lived her entire long life on the run from her family who will kill her if they find her. She’s spent the last century working as a fortune teller in carnivals, going by the name Madame Divine. Until recently, her Uncle Lucian thought she was dead, but hearing that she’s alive has had people out looking for her. Marcus Notte finds a woman matching her description and is surprised to discover she’s his life mate. But is she Basha, and if so, what should he do about it? Divine soon realizes that “Marco” is one of Lucian’s spies and needs to run again. The book is loaded with people from past books. To me, that type of thing is always a treat. I really liked Divine and Marcus and the carnival atmosphere. The story is interesting and the reveal of her past is well done. But this story has a much heavier tone that often overshadows a great deal, including the humor and their relationship; and I felt like I was missing a lot because of it. There is some humor, but the best of it is centered in just a couple of places instead of spread throughout the book. If it hadn’t been for the characters from past books—as well as her last name--I’m not sure I’d even recognize this as being part of the Argeneau series. Definitely not a bad book, but not the humor-ridden story I’ve come to expect from this author.

Vampire Most Wanted by Lynsay Sands is a February 18 ,2014 Avon publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.Basha Argeneau is over 2000 years old. She has changed her name and lived different lives to avoid facing her family. Currently, she is Madam Divine, a fortune teller with a carnival. She's stuck to this persona for several years now and used her mind reading abilities to help people. When it comes to Lucien's attention that a blonde woman resembling Basha was seen at a carnival, he sends Marcus to bring her back to him. Once Marcus meets the beautiful blonde Madame Divine, he realizes he has his hands full and he is in for the fight of his life. Why? Well, there could be a bit of a hitch in his plans because Divine appears to be his life mate, and to him that just doesn't seem possible. How can that be? But, all the signs are there and neither party is too happy about it. As we get to know Divine and Marcus, we learn Divine has been through a great deal in her life and it's very complicated. She has a son and grandchildren and they seems to be trying to trip her up . Nothing makes any sense. All Divine knows is that she must prevent herself from being turned over to Lucien at all cost. This is the the 20th Argeneau novel by Lynsay Sands. While there are some funny moments and lines, this novel has a more serious tone. The depiction of carnival life, which is a hard life, but also is like a family for many, makes it easy for Divine to relax in this environment and she genuinely enjoys helping people. Basha literally become Divine and erases her past from her mind. She knows right away that Marcus is not her friend, but he doesn't know that she knows. So, a mental game begins, but soon there are deadly occurances that has Marcus unsure what to think or feel. Along the way Divine/Basha discovers that she has been lied to and manipulated for a very long time, as a result , she has lived in shame these many years. I enjoyed the chemistry between Basha and Marcus. Their relationship is a tricky one, and they have a few issues to resolve, but you know they are a true love match. The story is deeply layered leaving you wondering who to trust. There are some jolting twist in the plot and once I was over half way into the book, I just had to finish it. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. While the romance was steamy and this is certainly a paranormal romance, there were shades of Urban Fantasy mixed in there as well, I thought. The only issue I had was that I felt some things weren't really explained all the way. Don't misunderstand, the story is all wrapped up at then end, but there are loose threads here and there. I'm wondering if this story is going to continue on in the next book. I hope it does, but because I want a bit more closure. This was an engrossing story and of course fans of series will love it! Even if you haven't read all the books in the series or have never tried them, you will be able to pick this one up and read it as a stand alone. I recommend this book to lovers of vampire romance, paranormal romance, and maybe even those that like romantic suspense and Urban Fantasy too.Overall a solid A.

When Marcus is sent on a mission to find a rogue by Lucian, you can hardly say no, especially to such a ancient vampire. When Marcus finds the rogue, Basha Argeneau, he finds out that she is his lifemate-figures luck wouldn't be on his side. The woman he knows as Divine has many secrets, currently living among a circus, and everyone admires her greatly. They all think of her as kind and gentle and caring of others. This is not the woman that is supposed to be Basha. There are certain facts that aren't known to any of the Argeneau's, and now that she is his lifemate, he knows he must get to the truth, it may be the only way for them to be together. Basha, or Divine, has many secrets. She has had to live a life on the run, with no other option. She always believed that her uncle Lucian, to be hunting her and would kill her son if he every found him. Basha has done everything to forget the trauma of her past, and move forward. But when she finds out that Marcus is her lifemate, she is astounded and is wary at first. She knows that if Marcus were to ever find the truth, he would lose the love he claims to have for her.I was able to obtain a copy of this ARC through Avon via Edelweiss. I am so glad I was able to read this. Vampire Most Wanted is the 20th in the series. Ever since I first discovered this author years ago, I fell in love with her writing and style. The way she has created this unique take on vampires, has always intrigued me. I love the science side of it. Vampire Most Wanted is a story that is full of secrets and intense emotion. I had no idea what to expect from Vampire Most Wanted, but by the end I knew I loved this one, and even though it leaves up some loose ends, I found this story to be heart wrenching and captivating. When you first start reading Vampire Most Wanted, it can be a bit confusing at first, since this is the first I have really heard anything about Basha. Or maybe I missed something on one of the previous books. Marcus is part of the Notte family, so I recognized him. I do love this family, and Marcus is just an amazing hero that steals your heart instantly. I love the faith he has in Basha, and is willing to do whatever it takes to stay by her side. I love the part that Lucian plays. Its so humorous to see how much fear he instills, when personally (he is my favorite, and is a teddy bear). But I enjoyed the setting-seeing into the life of a circus member. Very fascinating and the detail was vivid and very descriptive and makes you feel as if you need to join the circus just to experience it once. The characters were lively and fun and dark at times. There is alot of information and past history we don't know until later in the story, so it keeps the reader on the edge in suspense. (But in the most delightful way) By the end you will have little to complain about, trust me on that one. There is two other couples we get to see involvement in, which is always fun to see. Basha is a very unique heroine. From the beginning you see how deep of a character she is. Basha is probably one of the older ancients, but the majority of her life spent in hiding. After you read this story, you heart is endeared completely to this heroine. At first I thought she was being too stubborn and prideful, when it came to running from her lifemate. But when you see what she has suffered in her lifetime, you understand and definitely are on her side. I loved the inner strength she portrays so well. Marcus is your typical lovely male hero, sexy, adventurous, willing to fight for the woman he loves--breathtaking man -love ya to pieces!! LOLOverall a stellar romance that combines this unique world of ancients or vampires, intense intrigue, and a love story that will bring a tear to your eye. (You might need some tissues). A emotionally driven romance with action packed suspense, classic Sands wit, and a story line that captivates!!! A WINNER!!!
