About this audiobook

As soon as Lily opens her recently purchased trunk of old clothes, she feels strange vibrations emanating from a mysterious velvet cloak. When she tries it on, Lily sees awful visions from the past. And when the antiques dealer who sold her the cape is killed, Lily suspects a supernatural force might be behind his death.

Then Lily's familiar, Oscar the potbellied pig, disappears. Lily will do anything to get him back-including battling the spirit of a powerful witch reaching out from the past. But even with the aid of her grandmother, unmasking a killer and saving Oscar might be more than one well-intentioned sorceress can handle.

In Blackwell’s paranormal mystery, Lily Ivory is a witch who owns a vintage clothing store. Always looking for bargain clothes, she anxiously purchases a trunk from a local antique collector. As soon as she opens the trunk, she is overwhelmed with strange vibrations that appear to be coming from a velvet cloak buried underneath some old rotting clothes. Throwing it across her shoulders, she is overcome with visions from the past. When the seller of the items is found dead beneath a dying tree, Lily suspects the supernatural might have been involved in his death. When Lily’s beloved familiar, Oscar the potbellied pig, vanishes, Lily will move heaven and earth to get him back—even if it means making an enemy of a powerful associate and taking on an evil witch from days of old. Pulling together her coven and her grandmother’s coven in Texas, Lily sets out to solve a murder, save her familiar, and discover a piece of her own ancestry.A wonderful paranormal amateur sleuth and an excellent addition to the A Witchcraft Mystery series.

A very solid series overall, Ms. Blackwell can always be relied upon for a good cozy read. Vision in Velvet was fast paced, entertaining and well-written. I love Lily and I'm really enjoying her more now that she's involved romantically. I'm especially enjoying that Ms. Blackwell didn't take the obvious path when charting Lily's romance. The plot...I guessed the murderer, but there was more to the plot than was immediately obvious so when everything came together there was still enough 'reveal' to make the last scene interesting. I really enjoy everything cozy Ms. Blackwell's written and I always look forward to the next book.

You never do really find out what or who Deliverance Corydon is. So she might come back. Sailor is becoming a really close friend, Oscar gains some freedom, her debt to Aidan grows.

Yet another fabulous story in this series. I think this is my favorite so far. Lily is really coming to grips with her power, her helping spirit, and her various relationships. The entire storyline around Oscar's disappearance had me worrying throughout the book, scared he wasn't coming back. I was pleased with the way that was resolved, and tied to the main murder mystery.
