About this audiobook
The inspirational wisdom Oprah Winfrey shares in her monthly O., The Oprah Magazine column updated, curated, and collected for the first time in a beautiful keepsake book.
After film critic Gene Siskel asked her, "What do you know for sure?" Oprah Winfrey began writing the "What I Know For Sure" column in O, The Oprah Magazine. Saying that the question offered her a way to take "stock of her life," Oprah has penned one column a month over the last fourteen years, years in which she retired The Oprah Winfrey Show (the highest-rated program of its kind in history), launched her own television network, became America's only black billionaire, was awarded an honorary degree from Harvard University and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, watched friends and colleagues come and go, lost beloved pets and adopted new ones, and celebrated milestone birthdays. Throughout it all, she's continued to offer her profound and inspiring words of wisdom in her "What I Know For Sure" column in O, The Oprah Magazine.
Now, for the first time, these thoughtful gems have been revised, updated, and collected in What I Know For Sure, a beautiful audiobook packed with insight and revelation from Oprah Winfrey. Organized by theme—joy, resilience, connection, gratitude, possibility, awe, clarity, and power—these essays offer a rare and powerful glimpse into the mind of one of the world's most extraordinary women. Candid, moving, exhilarating, uplifting, and dynamic, the words Oprah shares in What I Know For Sure shimmer with the sort of wisdom and truth that listeners will turn to again and again.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I listened to this book not only with an open mind but an open heart. And because of that, I was able to receive all of its wisdom. One of the most valuable lessons that I took from the book is to be grateful for every expression of beauty from making a cup of tea to sitting under a tree and reading a great book. What I Know for Sure is a feast for the intellect, spirit, emotional, and the physical. Give it a listen while listening to the music of Snatam Kaur.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What a beautiful book! I will reread this now and again just to remind myself never to lose sight of the beauty of life.
It's full of great advice, life experiences and inspiration.
If you listen to it, read by Oprah herself, in her warm and calm voice, you can feel her honesty and the heartfelt manner in which she expressed her experiences and views.
Beautiful, simply beautiful!1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Oprah vacillates wildly between spirituality as hedonism and vague, new agey platitudes. She hasn't gone deep enough with any of it to share any deep spiritual insights or "truths." Perhaps that's one of the consequences of great material success.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Painful! She only does things she loves with every fiber of her being? So she won’t take a meeting or make a phone call or write a check unless she feels the love?!? Give me a break!!! Most of us have jobs and don’t have this luxury. We must write checks to pay our bills and attend mind numbing meetings to earn our pay. Sheesh!! Rein it in, would ya?

What is more precious then just wealth. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow. I now reeled compelled to ask myself this question: What do you know for sure? I could answer this question previously, but Oprah makes me want to dive deeper and expound upon those once simple thoughts. Oprah takes the reader along the journey of her life, fromngrowing up as a child in Mississippi, to the high school years in Nashville, to her adult years in Chicago and to her current years in California. She pours into us, her wisdom, insight, and life-lessons that she has learned along her journey. From Jessie Jackson to Maya Angelou, Oprah's teachers instilled periods of instruction that she so graciously shared with readers. What I know for sure is that everyone should read this book and then ask themselves that question; what do I know for sure.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was a great book to listen too. Oprah's voice is very soothing. This book just felt good for my soul! So many good tidbits that had me rewinding to listen again. I can't count the number of times that I nodded my head or said "yes!" out loud. I look forward to picking up a copy of this so I can underline and go back to it over and over again!
