Ok.. so I have a lot of things to say about this. First of all, I really we got more of Noah, in the first or second novel, we were told about Noah and Blue’s friendship and I wanted more of that. I also wanted more Adam and Gansey just not fighting but also not being distant, I wish Adam had his ‘realization’ about their relationship a lot sooner, I just wanted them to do friend things. Of course, Ronan was absolutely perfect in this novel (he’s my favorite character so that statement is extremely biased). Greenmantle as a villain wasn’t that interesting but I liked his relationship with Piper, well... until the end. Overall, it’s an ‘ok’ book.

At this point I don’t think there is any other book that could top the 2nd one. I’m living for Ronan and Blue’s friendship though <3.
Now, while I enjoy the paranormal stuff I’m still not 100% comfortable with their reactions. Talking trees? No biggie. That’s your pet night horror? That’s dope, creepy, but dope. You’ve been sleeping since 1600? Let’s catch up over tea... See where I’m going?? Also, Ronan was jealous of Adam because Gansey was paying more attention to him? Name a more adorable pair... probably Blue with Mr. Grey laughing at the same types of jokes. Poor Gansey was relegated to the background at the end. “Gansey you... you move rocks” lol.

I forgot how exciting (and stressful) and creepy Blue Lily, Lily Blue is compared to the previous two books. I love where the story has gone, but I miss the days when everything was only a fun adventure.

I LOVE this series, this author. This was so good! I definitely liked this one more than the second one (I still loved the second tho). I'm excited and sad to get to the fourth one.

This was delightfully creep in parts and slightly magical in others.

This series is interesting and easily digestible and well read by the narrator. Each character is well developed and I have to google “Henrietta” now and check it out. Very enjoyable

"I like the way you losers thought Instagram before first aid. Fuck off.”

I’m not sure where my head is at. This was a little chaotic at times, there were certain moments I had to go back on to hear again just to make sure I grasped the scene properly.

It was awfully repetitive, especially when Adam was thinking about himself. I’m still at the point where I’m trying to like him and this didn’t make it any easier.

The Gray Man is on my list of favourite literary characters along with Ronan, Gansey and Blue.
I seriously adore Calla and Persephone.
    Noah got extra creepy.
Malory complaining about the tea was a hoot.

I’m not sure if I dislike Gwenllian's character or if I just disliked how she was read, I wanted to skip some of her scenes – I didn’t but I was highly tempted. She was over the top irritating.

I loved Will’s reading in the first 2 books but at times it took me a little bit to figure out who he was reading, especially with Noah and Adam. Some of the new voices were a tad over the top, accents floated in and out, it was all a bit of a mess.

“Desire and dread lay right next to each other in his heart, each sharpening the other.”

Definitely my favorite of the series so far! So much more mystery, intrigue and emotion! And now I’m just wondering what the hell is going to happen next because I have absolutely no idea!!
Also, I’m not even done with the series yet and already looking forward to rereading someday!

Love this series. Can't wait to read the final one.

When this series began, all the characters seemed fairly ordinary. Now Noah has been revealed as a ghost, Ronan is learning to use his dream magic, Adam is on the path to becoming Cabeswater's magician, and Blue has realized that her ability to amplify psychics' powers stems from her mirroring magic. And in the background there is always Gansay, gentle and hard by turns, but always supporting them to be their best selves. In earlier books I had favorite characters, or thought that some characters' plots were more interesting than others. Now I like them all, and can't distinguish one from the other. My feelings are echoes of the characters' own: like most teenagers they were desperate to show themselves as individuals, but as their adventures continued they realized how much they wanted to stand with each other instead of apart. Independence is not the only virtue. This brings me to the romances: despite there being romantic and sexual tension between many of the characters, I don't feel torn between them. I like the characters all together, not split into dyads, and I hope the strong links of friendship and belonging between them maintain.

The adult characters are involved in the plot now, and I'm glad: I love Mr.Grey and the psychics. They're just as unique and delightful as ever. The antagonists are, as usual, less important than the magic and personal growth going on all around them. But the very unexceptionalness of their selfish blase entitlement is part of their horror. And the magic in this book is wonderful, with dream logic that twists and turns and may bite at any moment. I particularly loved the cave full of animal skeletons poised in flight.

The book ends on a huge cliffhanger, because of course it does. Curse you Stiefvater!

“…three sleepers –light, dark and in between. The knowledge that Artemus was underground. The certainty that no one was coming out of those caverns unless fetched. The realization that Blue and her friends were part of something huger, something vast and stretching and slowly waking — “In Blue Lily, Lily Blue, the third in an anticipated four installments, things are beginning to culminate in the most unlikeliest of ways for Blue and the boys. Blue’s mother, Maura, has been gone for the last several months on a mysterious personal quest that she informed no one about, leaving behind a cryptic note which states far too simply “Glendower is underground. So am I.” In their continued search for Glendower, the three sleepers and now also for Blue’s mother, the group discovers that there won’t likely be an easy solution to this chaos they’ve immersed themselves in.“Queens and kingsKings and queensBlue lily, lily blueCrowns and birdsSwords and thingsBlue lily, lily blue” This series continues to be truly amazing. I admit, I wasn’t sold on it at first because it was really quite strange and the concept of the story is not an easy one to wrap your head around. “So, basically, this ancient Welsh King managed to get himself buried in Virginia of all places because of this mysterious ley line that runs through the town and some prep school boys and their friend Blue are all trying to hunt him down because the one who wakens him gets a wish. Yeah, kind of like a genie, I guess.” Strange, right? I thought so. But wow, so incredibly original, utterly convincing, compulsively readable and possessing a most impressive depth to the whole magical tale. It’s a very convoluted series with various different storylines all playing at once but Maggie Stiefvater is an absolute pro at making everything clear and vivid. This entire series is such an intense experience, I’m so very anxious to see how all the pieces fall in the final installment.

This is such a wonderfully written series and Will Patton is the perfect voice to bring it to life.

Maggie Stiefvater is amazing. Her characters are real and raw, and they draw you into the narrative like old friends. The writing itself is beautiful as well, but the story is absolutely enchanting.

This is the third book in the series, and I still haven't been able to put them down. Excited to start the fourth book next!

I quite enjoy the audiobook narrator's many different voices he uses for the different characters. And Stiefvater's writing is fun and rich. Sometimes, however I find that the narrator falls into a melancholic, victimized tone especially for the women's voices that he narrates. He makes Blue, for example, sound more submissive and gloomy than I think she often should.

I really love the way the series is progressing. This books has a bit more angst as Blue is worrying over her missing mother and her feelings for Gansey are getting harder to keep at bay. I love that was there was some growth from Adam who has finally realized what an idiot he has been. Ronin is...well Ronin. He's a jerk, but he's a loyal jerk who cares about his friends more than he'd ever admit. And I love Jesse Dittley and the fact that he nicknamed Blue, 'Ant'! There are a few more characters in this book, but the main cast of characters does not get lost in the story, which is fantastic writing. They've made progress in finding the Raven King as well as Maura, but things are getting ever more dangerous for the group. All-in-all this was a great continuation of the series, and it sets up for the next book beautifully.

This is probably my favorite book in the series. It's weird because I feel like not as much happened as in The Dream Thieves, but, at the same time, more important things happened? Also, I suddenly love Ronan and Adam? This book gave me the push to immediately start The Raven King after finishing it. If you're into reading whimsical dreamy writing, this series is for you.

Another great installment to the series. I absolutely love what the narrator of this audio book, Will Patton, does for the books. He really brings it to life for me. However I got the impression that there was less that went on in this novel than the previous two. It seems a little like a transition novel where things between Gansey and Blue become interesting. I am really interested in seeing where the relationship between Adama and Ronan might grow. I can't tell if the language is hinting at something obvious or at something more implied and can't wait to see which of the scenarios happens. I'm looking forward to the fourth installment, coming out next year.

It’s hard to pick my favorite book of The Raven Cycle. Every time I read one I remember why I thought it was my favorite. Blue Lily, Lily Blue is funny, painful, and wondrous. It’s when you feel these characters are real.

The series is great, however there seems to be a problem with this book: It played fine except for chapter 32, even despite having downloaded the book. At the end of chapter 31, the audiobook abruptly returns to the very beginning. Trying to skop to ch. 32, the app will just buffer indefinantly. I skipped ahead to 33, and the rest played fine, but it sucked losing a chapter of the story.
