About this audiobook

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Beloved author Debbie Macomber celebrates the most wonderful time of the year in this heartwarming Christmas novel of romance, hope, and the comforts of home.

Harry Mills is a guardian angel on a mission: help twenty-four-year-old Addie Folsom get her life back on track—and, if the right moment strikes, help her find love. Posing as a teacher at a local college in Tacoma, Washington, Harry is up to the task, but not even he can predict the surprises that lay in store.

After trying to make it on her own, Addie has returned home to Tacoma for the holidays, but this time she plans to stay for good, enrolling in the local community college to earn her degree. What she doesn't plan to do is run into Erich Simmons.

Addie and her next-door neighbor, Erich, are like night and day. Growing up, he was popular and outgoing while she was rebellious and headstrong, and he never missed an opportunity to tease her. Now she intends to avoid him entirely, yet when they're suddenly forced to spend Christmas together, Addie braces for trouble.

Perhaps it's the spirit of the season or the magic of mistletoe, but Addie and Erich soon find they have more in common than they thought—and that two people who seem so wrong for each other may actually be just right. With a little prompting from a certain angelic teacher, the two are in for a holiday miracle they'll never forget.

Not enough build-up or explanation for the relationship that we are supposed to be rooting for. Felt rushed and contrived. I saw time passing because we were told it was, but didn't feel like there was any progress in the story over time. Characters had potential, but weren't developed enough to give us the chance to care or believe the story. 1.5 stars.

I have always enjoyed Debbie Macomber and the Miracle books that she writes, this one is no different. Another addition to the series of Miracle books was a great idea and as always, wonderfully written. Thanks to LibraryThing for the reviewer copy, can't wait till the next Debbie Macomber comes out.

If you read one Christmas book during the season, this should be it. A touching story of an angel sent to earth, to try and make two people realize their love for one another. Macomber takes us on a joyful journey of finding love during the holiday season. This heartwarming tale is sure to give readers some Christmas cheer.

I managed to finish this book because it was an (overly) easy book to read and I had nothing better to do in the hospital. I hardly know where to begin. The main characters are barely likable. This could have been changed with more in-depth background. Perhaps it would have explained their dislike of each from childhood. Instead it was more of, "He was mean to me!" and "Ew, girl cooties!" They went from heartedly disliking each other to being in love for no reason I could fathom. The angel was an idiot and not in a humorous fashion. Secondary characters were dropped in and then disappeared with open plot lines. No, just no. About the only people I could possibly recommend this book to are ESL readers for ease of reading.

Another feel good Christmas story from Debbie Macomber. I love her angel stories.
Addie comes home from Montana to be with her mother over Christmas. It is the first Christmas since her father has died. She finally swallows her pride and moves back home to go back to school and get her Highschool diploma. Her mother tells her that she and her neighbour (both widows) have booked a cruise over Christmas and Addie will be alone. When the neighbour's son, who Addie has had a love/hate relationship with all her life, has a car accident, he needs care. She agrees to help Erich out so her mother will not have to cancel her cruise. Along with all this, Addie, who is dyslexic, is taking an Literature Course at the community college with Harry Mills (Mr. Miracle). Can Harry help Addie, Erich as well as the others in his class.
    A very enjoyable story.

Book ten in the Angels Everywhere (a.k.a Angelic Intervention) series. Harry Mills is on his first assignment on earth and he rather smugly believes he’s got it all covered. But he didn’t quite count on human emotions, and he fumbles with following the rules. It doesn’t help that his supervisor is in the body of a young barista at the local coffee shop, complete with short spiky hair “dyed the color of a pomegranate” and a diamond piercing her nose! Still, his assignment is to help twenty-four-year-old Addie Folsom get her life back on track. Posing as an English teacher at the local community college in Tacoma Washington, he tries to boost her confidence and steer her in the right direction. It’s a cheesy Christmas romance, and the plot is exactly what one would expect. Fluffy and light, with a few scenes to tug at the heartstrings. There will be a few obstacles placed in Addie’s path, but every detour will really be ensuring that she finds true love. Harry really doesn’t do much of anything but stumble around trying to get the hang of humans and their complex emotions. Erich and Addie seem to find their own way just fine with minimal intervention. There is a pretty large cast of supporting characters, most of which are left hanging. What ever happens to College president Dr Conceito? What about the security guard? Or returning war veteran Andrew Fairfax, and his dog Tommy? It’s not great literature, but it’s perfect for the season … sit by the fire, sip a mug of hot chocolate, or a glass of wine, and enjoy.

Debbie Marcomber is one of my favorite authors, so when I saw her latest book; Mr Miracle was available at Netgalley, I just had to request a review copy!

As expected, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters are engaging and the story line flowed at a good rate, ensuring I was unable to put the book down.

This book would be suitable for any age-range from YA plus.

The setting of the book is around Christmas time, and follows 2 story lines which work around each other. First up is Harry, he is an angel, who has been sent back to earth on his first assignment. To work as a Literature teacher in a college, under the supervision of the angel Celeste. Harry's assignment is to help Addie to be happy and settled. Meanwhile, Addie returns home after 6 years and is shocked to learn her mother is going away for Christmas with her neighbor. Sadly, the neighbors son Erich has a serious car accident and his care needs prevent them from taking the trip. Although Addie and Erich can't stand each other, she offers to take care of him, then the fun begins ...

Mr. Miracle is another perfect holiday tale by Macomber, and it provided the perfect escape from the busy holiday season. Macomber introduces more great characters in Harry, Addie, and Erich making for a delightful story. I just love Macomber's combination of drama, humor, and romance in her holiday stories, and this story really captures the heart of the reader like her previous holiday stories such as Mrs. Miracle which I also enjoyed. Harry ends up with his hands full trying to help Addie get her life back on track and especially when Addie and Erich are forced together during the holiday season. Overall Mr. Miracle was a great read that I would most definitely recommend, and I am looking forward to checking out another book by Macomber.Received a copy of Mr. Miracle through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Your typical Debbie. A simple, easy read with an obvious ending but very well written. A perfect book for when you need a cozy read but also need to pay attention to what's going on around you. I will pass this copy on to a BIG Debbie fan, who I am sure will keep it moving.

Thanks so much Librarything for a light and fluffy read! The discord between the characters really needed an angel....lovely idea for a hallmark movie. Maybe it will be better as a screen play than a book.

First, let me say that I like Debbie Macomber's books occasionally. This book was just not believable and bordered on silly. I don't know anyone who still dislikes someone that they knew as a child unless that person just wasn't kind at all. We all grow up and change. The two main people in this book couldn't accept that the other had changed until 1/2 way through the book.

This is a light read from Debbie Macomber. Angel in training Harry Mills comes to Tacoma to help Addie get her life back on track. He runs into all kinds of problems because he doesn't really understand humans and his story is as interesting as the person he is trying to help. Its a quick light read to help get you in the mood for the holidays.

I like Mr. Miracle as a light read. I liked the characters in the book, though they did need to be more developed. This caused the book to lack in substance and is my only disappointment. It is a sweet book and if you want something that isn't too involved, this is a great read. Her books are well written and flow so nicely. This book was given to me for my honest review.

Mr. Miracle by Debbie MacomberThis Christmas tale is about an angel that is granted the power to come to Earth to do good for the season. Harry Mills. His speaks to Celeste who has set him up with a jobwhere he teaches others about the story of Scrooge and about his life. The story is also about Addie who has finally come home since the death of her father to help her mother through the holiday season.Problem is her mother and the next door neighbor are going on a cruise. and at the last minute the neighbor's son Erich who she had a crush on as a teen. The book also encompasses others in the class and a few of the faculty. Funny at times and meaningful at other times, I found this book to be a good holiday read with a good point of change and to give things a chance. Hope this holiday you will be granted a miracle of your own as those in the book.An excerpt from Starry Night by the author is also included at the end. I received this book from Library Thing early reviewers in exchange for my honest review.

Harry Mills is an angel who garners a plum assignment on earth to help twenty-four-year-old Addie Folsom get her life back on track. Addie dropped out of high school one class short of graduating to move from Washington to Montana to follow the love of her life and also to take a mining job. Both love and job did not work out as planned, but nonetheless, Addie stayed there for six years before deciding she needed to return home and follow her late father's footsteps into the medical profession. She immediately encounters her former next door neighbor and best friend of her older brother, Erich Siimmons. Neither one of them has a civil word to say to each other, but their mothers have a cruise planned together for over the Christmas holidays. Erich has just been in a car accident that broke both of his wrists so Addie feels obligated to volunteer to help care for him so the moms can go off on their jaunt. Meanwhile, Addie enrolls at a community college to finish her needed English credit, and who would her teacher be except the angelic Harry Mills. Harry has a few challenges adapting to life on earth, but he has a mentor who helps him, another angel named Celeste. It's a warm fuzzy book that makes a good, quick read at holiday time. With all of the recent fascination with angels, and given the huge popularity of Debbie Macomber, Mr. Miracle is sure to be a hit with readers.

Another heartwarming Christmas book by Debbie Macomber. This is along the lines of the Mrs. Miracle books. Harry is sent to help Addie, on the way he also helps others. This is a feel good book that can't help but put readers in the holiday mood. Once again Ms. Macomber does not disappoint with her easy style and good clean entertainment. It is one that I know I will read over and over.

This was a nice Christmas story, but I found it hard to figure out just where the characters were taking me. The characters were very kind of a mess and ghosts don't do much for me. I think the ending was left in the air about where it might finish. I like a bit more romance not just maybe!! The story was okay with the helping others in the Christmas season.

I always enjoy a Debbie Macomber book. This one was no exception. Similar in a way to her 'angel' trilogy with Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy, an angel comes to Earth as a human and tries to work with the human assigned to him. Yes, this time the angel is a man. Even though I did enjoy this book, something just wasn't the same. For some reason, I wasn't as involved and therefore gave it just four stars rather than five. There were parts that just didn't ring true to me. Sorry, Debbie.

Guardian angel Harry Mills comes to earth for his first assignment, getting Addie Folsom's life back on track. He thinks he knows what he's doing because his been observing humans for years. he's not ready for the challenges of a human body and human emotions. His biggest challenge is to bring together two people who've known each other since they were kids and who don't get along.Debbie Macomber's new Christmas book is her usual feel good holiday book. Even though you know what's going to happen you still get a wonderful story.

I look forward to Macomber's holiday read every year, they are always a light, enjoyable read as we enter a busy time of year. This year, we get to follow a male angel's first 'case' on Earth, one in which he needs to eventually help both Addie and her neighbor Erich find a way to get their lives back on track. I thought the set-up, in which their moms are headed on a non-refundable cruise was a great way to get the two talking. Harry, this year's angel, is posing as an English professor at a community college, which allows for some nice contributions of Dickens, via A Christmas Carol.

This was a cute and lovely book to read for Christmas. A little predictable, but that's ok. I love a good story. Had some good lessons for all of us to hear and also highlighted the book "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, of course. I have never read that book and now putting it on the list!!!

Debbie Macomber has hit it again. This is the sweetest book that you will want to read all in one sitting. The characters grab you from the start, and you can't quit until it's over. There two plot lines that are intermingled in the story, and no one does that better than MaComber.

I have to say when I finished this book, all I could thing was Meh. I've read a lot of Debbie Macomber's books and this one was a disappointment. The characters didn't feel developed and in many cases the story was disjointed. There was too much back and forth with Addie and Erich and not enough information the other characters. I would have like to read more back stories on the war veteran and Danny. They seem interesting. Maybe Debbie is saving those characters for another book.
