      This is a wonderful story filled with mystery, suspense, love and faith. While some parts are sad love of family and God brings it all together for healing. This author is new to me, I discovered some of her books last year. She has a new fan in me.

      The Inn at Ocean’s Edge is a Colleen Coble thriller. Known for her dynamic, true-to-life characters, and breathtaking and accurate descriptions of idyllic locales throughout the U.S., Colleen doesn’t disappoint. Her passion for writing, travel, culture, nature, and wildlife really shines through in the telling of this book.

      Set in the quaint town of Folly Shoals, Maine, the plot centers around the wealthy business woman Claire Dellamare, who along with her family, come to the island to close a business merger. But when Claire stumbles upon a murder and unwillingly gets drawn into unlocking the story behind what really happened in order to clear her name, she finds that everything she’s ever believed about her life isn’t as it seems. When pressed, her family admits that she had been to Folly Shoals before as a child – where she had gone missing for a year before reappearing. Yet she can’t figure out why she can’t account for not having any recollection of such a traumatic event in her life. At first.

      Then there’s the Rocco family – the handsome Luke, his sister Megan, and their dad, natives to the island who run a cranberry farm. The siblings befriend Claire in hopes that by helping her figure out the clues to her past, they might also learn more about what might have happened to their mother who also had gone missing when Claire did – only to never return. But the closer they get in their quest for answers, the more dangerous it becomes for Claire’s safety as well as her heart. Can Claire trust Luke amidst their growing attraction of one another? Is Luke able to keep her safe, or will the past hurt their chances of romance, even as more family secrets are unearthed? While the story might seem to go one way on the surface, it actually takes many unexpected twists along the way to keep the reader guessing up until the last page.

      Having grown up in New England, I found that the vivid imagery in The Inn at Ocean’s Edge brought back a lot of pleasant memories I have of communing with nature as a child. Moreover, as fellow fiction writer and mystery buff, the amount of suspense to be had in this book was a true delight. The same can be said for the rest of this exciting series!

      Inn at Oceans EdgeI knew I would love this novel even before I picked it up, because it was written by Colleen Coble. But the subject matter and plot still totally blew me away. Reading it was so incredibly real I wanted to find out more about it on Google! The angst, the horror of what is revealed took my breath away. I felt the confusion as Claire confronted her father with the rumors, and was disappointed with him. In fact he was a jerk! And her mother seemed to think that what she didn't know couldn't hurt her.The writing is superb and a great example of Colleen's work. As awesome as it was, I do wish I had had a print copy of this to read, because somehow no novel is quite the same reading on an electronic device as holding a paper book in your hands, whether it is suspense or romance or anything in between.Thank you to Amy and Chris at Lifuse Publicity Group, TNZfiction and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this novel.       Colleen Coble has done it again with another great suspenseful mystery. This one is a real page-turner from beginning to end, and the suspicion of whom was responsible for the murder or murders changes as I read along.Along with a bit of romance and a rather earth-shattering meeting between the two main characters Claire and Luke, we have missing children. For poor Claire everyone in her family seems to know the secrets and yet no one is willing to reveal anything, why?Luke is dealing with his own demons of loosing his own mother at a young age, was she murdered or just took off? How these people are thrown together in a jumbled twist of fate, and when can you tell what is up and what is down, and who is responsible for all the carnage?This is one twisted tale and keeps giving bits of answers as you turn the pages, but then it seems to change and you are in for a wealth of surprises that you will never see coming.I hated for this one to end and really wanted more when it finished and am so glad that there is at least another book to come. Count me in I really loved this one!I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.

      Colleen Coble combines a decades old mystery, twisting suspense and sweet romance in her newest contemporary novel, The Inn at Ocean’s Edge, book 1 in the Sunset Cove series. If you like romantic suspense set in unique locales, you are going to love this book. Filled with great characters, complex plotting and a setting to die for (no pun intended!), this book is a recommended read!As soon as Claire Dellamare exists her car at the Hotel Tourmaline, she experiences dread and fear. Her panic attacks make no sense — she has never stayed there. Or has she? Within a few hours of her arrival she witnesses a murder and is herself attacked. With the aid of Luke Rocco, who has grown up trying to understand the mysterious disappearance of his mother, Claire embarks on a quest to unravel the mysteries surrounding her past and to bring light to the deceptions of her family.The Inn at Ocean’s Edge has a great setting. All of the senses are engaged in this novel — the feel of the ocean’s spray, the aroma of the kelp and the sights and sounds of Coastal Maine. Coble does a great job of bringing it all to life with wild and untamed islands, beautiful and alluring seascapes and quaint villages and farms that dot the countryside. I felt like I was on vacation while reading this book! I also instantly connected with her characters. There is a lot going on behind the carefully constructed reality of the Dellamare family. The actions of Clarie, Luke and others intent on discovering the truth were written realistically. The mystery itself was interesting, if not a bit far-fetched. But money and power, lust and greed are powerful motivators. Many of the characters depend on their faith to endure the trials of life. I especially liked the message that no matter the circumstances of our births, we can depend on a true and faithful heavenly Father.If you are looking for the perfect beach bag read or a staycation getaway, The Inn at Ocean’s Edge fits the bill. I liked the characters and they were so multi facetted. It was hard to figure out what the truth was in light of all the years of lies. Claire’s Grandmother start to give clues that all things set before Claire and the reader that all was not as it was presented. That sets the book into high gear. It was a series of revelations and surprises with a climatic ending that was exciting. There were times that the murder was able to act without anyone knowing or seeing him. I found the book well written. The main and secondary characters were well written. The secondary characters were so realistic. Everyone kept the secret and several had light and dark sides to their character. That was the most realistic for me. I would like to thank Net Galley and Thomas Nelson for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone.

      At some point in time I must have downloaded the book from Amazon, of course to read. But like most books on my kindle, I get to them once I have depleted my print book collection. Or, I’m trapped somewhere and fortunately carry my kindle around for comfort.Anyway, I have Colleen’s most recent book on my kindle to read, The House at Saltwater Point, and thought I would start with this one first.The story’s premise intrigued me. Claire was missing for a year and then was found. She grew up within the wealth of the Dellamares knowing that she was loved. But she flies out to Hotel Tourmaline up in Maine to help work out a merger with her dad. Once she arrives she just “feels” like she has been in the area, but can’t figure out why. Slowly over time things begin to trickle into her memories, making her more terrified than ever.Fortunately she meets up with Luke and Megan who are from the area. Luke befriends her and together they try to solve this mystery, especially since Claire seems to be consistently being attacked.As for my take on the book, I really did enjoy the premise of it. I liked all the characters, except for Kate. She seemed really impulsive and a generally unlikeable person. I did think her personality needed a chance to really develop and for us to “like” her.The story is a mixture of romance, murder and mystery. Somewhere along the way in the book I started wondering if the clues I was given was actually the answer to Claire’s dreams. Lest I give away the ending, I won’t.But I will say I felt like the book was a tad rushed and certain scenarios weren’t really thought out, such as the boat ride and subsequent actions leaving Claire on the island.The book had great potential and I believe it hit it on nearly all the marks. Despite some of the ack moments, I would definitely recommend this book for a read.

       I would say this book is really a good read. It sure has the mystery element to it. We learn the mysteries throughout the book. It more of a thriller and mystery combination. There are crime and detective going on as well in this story plot. Claire returns to the Inn at the Ocean Edge and things start to happen to her. Is she the real Claire Delmore?There seems to be a cover-up story or is Harry Delmore hiding something from his daughter? Her grandmother also is acting strange when Claire starts wondering and questing about herself.We also meet Luke Rocco and his sister. He thinks that Claire had disappeared around the same time his mother disappeared. Is there a connection between the two?Colleen does tell a story that will make hungry for more. The plot is written well. The characters are developed and show their personalities. This book a cannot put down the book once you get into the action.

      Secrets and deceptions abound in this fast-paced thriller. Claire was only four when she disappeared from her fancy birthday party. Though her parents were people of considerable wealth, she remained missing for a year, until she mysteriously reappeared, with a note pinned to her dress but with no memory of what had happened. Now an adult, she is back at the same inn, hoping to get lay aside the ghosts of her past. After she sees a woman being pushed off a cliff to her death, she herself is attacked and knocked out. And when the authorities show up, there is no body on the beach, and Claire’s account of what happened is discounted. Soon, however, other strange things begin to happen, and Claire finds herself drawn into her own past, not knowing whom to believe. This intriguing plot is peopled with complex characters and the twists and turns along the way will keep readers engrossed in the story.

      The Inn at Ocean’s Edge by Colleen Coble is an interesting Christian romantic suspense novel. It revolves around the theme of what makes up a family: blood or circumstances (time, close ties, friendship). Clare Dellamare is 29 years old. She goes to Folly Shoals, Maine to meet her father, Harry Dellamare and the Castillo family to work out the details of a merger between their two companies. When Clare arrives at Hotel Tourmaline she feels like she knows the place and then she has a panic attack. Clare was not supposed to come to Folly Shoals and her father would rather she go back home to Boston. Clare decides to stay and heads to the ocean. Clare loves the ocean and is drawn to it. While walking on the beach she comes across Megan and Luke Rocco. They had found an injured orca and putting it in a pen to help it heal. Clare and Luke have an instant attraction despite Clare’s assumption that he is trying to hurt the poor little orca.Clare finds out that she has been to Folly Shoals before as a child. She was taken and did not reappear for one year. Clare does not remember anything from her childhood and wants to find out the truth. The same night that Clare disappeared so did Luke and Megan’s mother. Their mother heard a child crying outside and went to investigate. Their mother was never seen again.Kate Mason has been raised by her single mother, Mary. Kate knows who her father is and wants to know why he will not acknowledge her. Mary Mason asks Kate to leave it alone, but Kate is determined. Kate is also sick and needs a bone marrow transplant. She is hoping that her father or someone in the family will be a match.Read The Inn at Ocean’s Edge to find out who is Kate’s father, what happened with Clare so many years ago, what happened to Luke and Megan’s mother, and who will do anything to keep the answers from being known.I give The Inn at Ocean’s Edge 4.5 out of 5 stars. I had trouble getting into the book, but when I was about 40% through I was hooked. The mystery was easy to solve but there were a lot of great twists and turns in the story. I received a complimentary copy of this novel from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
