About this audiobook

He was a shadow, ever shifting and insinuating, able to blend in everywhere and anywhere. The elusive ideal conceived and created by the Genetics Council, he went by just as many names as he had identities-the last one being Gideon.

Now calling himself Graeme, he hides in plain sight, terrifyingly close to his goal. A rogue Bengal Breed, he has loyalties to no one but himself. And he has a need for vengeance that surges hot and swift through his veins.

Graeme plans to exact an extreme and ruthless vendetta against those who wronged him-Breed and human alike. All will suffer his wrath: those who created him, those who pretended to love him, and those who betrayed him.

That includes the one at the center of it all: a seductive, enigmatic woman helpless against the man whose desire is just as desperate as his need to destroy.

Gideon was handed Cat when she was three days old and told to take care of her. She was dying of a genetic flaw and needed all of eleven-year-old Gabriel's knowledge of human and Breed genetics to live. She saved his sanity but, in order to save her life, he had to escape from the lab without her when she was twelve. And, when he freed her from the van taking her to be euthanized, he had to convince her that he didn't care for her - that she was only an experiment to him. Thirteen years have passed with great trials for both Gideon and Cat. He was recaptured by the labs and faced horrible torture before escaping. Cat was hidden by a Navaho ceremony that had her sharing her body with the spirit of a dead girl and had her living the dead girl's life in the home of a man who hated her.All along Cat has both loved and hated Gideon. When he comes to her, she isn't willing to trust that he won't abandon her again. When mating heat comes to them, she is doing everything she can to deny it until she can trust him and he can love her.Outside of that personal drama is the bigger picture of the Breeds trying to forge a place for themselves even though the organization that created them and experimented on them really wants them back under their control. This book fits well into the series but is much richer for having read the previous books. It would not really stand alone well as the political situation is complex and not a lot of backstory is given.

SummaryGraeme is one of the most elusive and secretive breeds to exist. He can blend in anywhere and find anyone he desires. He has many identities and now he goes by Gideon. There is a woman that he has known since her birth, she came to him as a babe sick with disease and he cured her using breed genetics, and her name is Cat. Cat can only remember intense pain as a child. Unlike other breeds, she started out as a human and then was turned into an animal. But there are two men she has only ever trusted, twin brothers Graeme and Judd. Graeme she knew would always be there for her, but then he abandoned her and Judd, and at thirteen years old she and Judd managed to escape with Graeme’s help, but it almost cost him his life, and when she healed him with her blood Graeme went insane with primal instincts and vowed to exact revenge. He is on the hunt for Cat, the only woman he has ever loved, his true mate, and he will find her and possess her. But Cat knows what is coming for her, she is resigned to it, she knows there is no escape from his wrath, but she would do anything to protect him and keep him alive, despite the cost to herself. What Cat isn’t ready for is his claiming of her as his mate and she is walking into an unknown territory that she didn’t expect…The HeroGideon (aka Graeme and many other alias) was forced to work with the Genetic’s council. He slowly gathered information, and left the only two people he ever cared about, so that he could escape and get all breeds freed. Gideon is unchallenged, cunning, and has certain abilities no other breed has. He has taken certain actions to survive, and won’t apologize for it. But there is one person in his life he would do anything for, Cat his mate and the one he claimed since she came to him as a sick child. No more than a baby. But he knew even then as a child, that she was his, to keep, protect and to love. Gideon is a character that has been around the series for quite some time, and there isn’t much we know about him until this book. But ever since we first see him, I was curious if Lora Leigh would do his story, and she did and boy was I excited to read more about his past and who he is now. Many of the breeds haven’t had it easy, but Gideon has definitely had a difficult time of it, Not only do we see his intellect, and brawn (scary having those two things together), but he is a survivor, where most others would have died. He is driven and determined and stubborn. But what a sexy male he is. He has everything you look for in a alpha male, and he is quite the possessive sort, but you see how well he knows Cat too, and how complex his character is at times. The HeroineEver since she can remember, Cat has only one man that she is fiercely loyal to and that is Gideon. She understands more than anyone what he has had to deal with, even if he hurt her more than anyone else ever has. Cat feels betrayed by Gideon, because she has always loved him but now as a grown woman she refuses to give into his demands, after all he has done to her. She is a fighter and a protector, and despite what the other breeds think she is a bengal tigress, a alpha female, that she has kept away under lock and key. She is determined to find her own place away from Jonas and his “boys” but Jonas is seeking Gideon and knows that Cat is the key to finding him. But Cat is just as cunning and sees right through Jonas and his ‘ploys’. What I adored most about Cat is her strength and courage. She is pretty resilient and strong, but she struggles with her emotions, and keeping them under control, I liked that about her character. That she stands on her own, admits her mistakes and isn’t naive about her situation. The one downside to her character is how she hides from the truth at times, but when you learn of her past and what she has had to do to survive, you understand why. She is a heroine that I admired from the very beginning, and I loved her spirited nature.Plot And Story LineBengal’s Quest is a story I wasn’t sure I would like or not. To be honest the reviews and ratings have been split, you either like it or hate it. I liked it, quite a bit , way more than I was expecting. But it had quite a bit of emotional complexities that drew me instantly to the story. I love emotion especially in romances, and when an author can portray them realistically, you have me hooked, and Lora Leigh did that for me with Bengal’s Quest. I wouldn’t recommend this story as a stand alone to be honest, I mean you can, if you have read some of the other books, but it will make more sense if you have read the series in order. I know…if you have yet to read this series (SHAME ON ALL OF YOU *grins* ) then 30 books may seem a bit daunting, but remember one book at a time. The one difference I found in this story from the other books, was the mating heat. It was a bit different, not as “heated” as far as the amount of sex scenes as the other books. It was a bit lighter on that side, there was more focus on that actual emotional intimacy of their relationship. They both have some issues to work out before they can get to the fun sex part of the bond. Even though Gideon and Cat have gone through various struggles, they both have always loved each other since they were kids. That connection is still there, and what we have in this story is the rediscovery of each other, and more importantly learning to trust again. We see some old favorite characters from past books, which is fun (especially Jonas…boy was it fun to see him in action once again, makes me want to re read his book). There is also a certain native american spiritual element that added some a bit deeper to the story line than I was expecting. Not my favorite of the series, but quite fun and packed with plenty of breed action to keep you amused. The CoverNow who wouldn’t adore this cover…I mean abs are great, but a nice muscled and toned back…even better!! And I love the Bengal Tiger too…adds some intensity to the cover.Overall ViewBengal’s Quest is a thrilling story that is full of sexual tension, a reunion romance, more exciting world of the Breeds that this author has created for us, and delivers a sexy romp!!

I liked but I think these last few books are dragging the story too much until the point that matters. Things that need explaining don't get explained or are done so in a unsatisfying way.

One of the biggest reasons that I keep coming back to these books are the incredibly pairings and chemistry created by the author. The sex scenes are hot, spicy and they have incredible emotion wrapped up in them. Here, that aspect showed through perfectly.

I will admit that I have been A big fan the breed series for years. that being said I will admit also my experience with the series has probably made my enjoyment of this book heightened because while each book is a stand alone book each successive book builds on the whole world and the characters within and as such it is more enjoyable to watch not only the hero and heroine in their own struggles but to also see returning characters and storyline. to me this book as brought an understanding and completion of a major component of the world to a partial if not wholly conclusion while introducing additional plots and future paths that will probably be crucial to the breed community going forward. I highly encourage readers to read at least the last two to three books before starting this one. while not critical to understanding or appreciating this book the Graham/Gideon story has been building for awhile and the reader begins to understand why he is so feared by breeds, the Cousel and other associates.

in general when I leave reviews other than the brief executive summary I might leave regarding the book or suggestions, such as I did earlier in this review, I try to focus my reviews on the author, composition, overall appreciation or suggestions, and narrator abilities if appropriate. the book already has a summary of the plot you don't need my take. There are few authors out there who can genuinely produce excellent stories, full. of characters and world's where the reader can feel as though this story could be real and make you second guess it's possibility, but Ms Leigh consistently produces this regardless of genre. her skills as a writer and story producer are well above par and she doesn't here in the story as well. I do not believe I have ever heard Emily Bronte the narrator produce a bad audiobook I love her abilities to prettiest various personality and voices is that as a listener you can readily distinguish the various characters speaking. I enjoy that she is able to maintain many of the voices throughout the entire series such as Cassie wow a very minor character does make an appearance and you know right away who the speaking. voice is entertaining and reflexive enough to keep the listener engaged in the story. I will and do follow her as a narrator to introduce me to potentially other books I might otherwise pass up.

therefore overall combining the operand narrator's abilities along with the storyline I highly recommend this series and this book to fantasy and science fiction readers not just romance or PNR supporters.

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Genetic experiments and one wild romance!Opening Sentence: “Cat stared at the white wall of the cell she’d grown up in and she cried.”The Review:Cat is an experiment and G is the one who helped create her and help her survive until he abandoned her one day. Now Cat is all grown up and living another life and determined to forget G. Cat is a bengal tiger masquerading as Clarie. Hoping one day she will remember or know who her parents are and cursing the doctors who made her the way she is.Gideon, also known as Graeme, is trying to exact his revenge and claim his mate. Will Cat fight him every step of the way or will she finally give in?Okay, first let me say I have read some of the books in this series, but I think it has been quite a while because I didn’t know they were up to 30! Now, the thing I didn’t like was the two different names for Cat and the fact that other name she was living under was a real person. So that made it quite confusing to know who was actually talking or whom they were talking about. G was a tad easier, but again, the three different names and changing them throughout the book was super confusing. So now that is out of the way, I have always enjoyed the Breeds series when I have read the books, honestly the only reason I don’t is I just don’t read much paranormal romance anymore. I will say that it has always been a series you can jump in and out of and enjoy without feeling horribly lost the whole time. I don’t necessarily recommend it, because I did find myself not understanding some of the background things going on, especially things that have been introduced since I first read the books. For instance, the Navajo introduction of spirit binding and I knowing that would have made the whole Cat/Clarie thing not so confusing to me.From a romance aspect the books rock as always and I did enjoy reading this one, and I am intrigued enough to seriously consider going back and reading the series from the beginning. Lora Leigh has built a really complex world, with a lot going on and it is just so great. This is definitely a must read paranormal romance if that is your genre.Notable Scenes:“But it was too late, the words were already said, the damage was already done.”“The mark of that acceptance, not just by her but by the animal inside her couldn’t be wiped away, no matter how she’d already attempted to erase it.”“She was pure and certain destruction if he wasn’t extremely careful.”“With everything between them, though, she hadn’t expected him to claim to be her mate either.”“This merciless determination to do what must be done at all costs.”“He had known since Clarie’s birth that her destiny was to be one of heartbreak and fear in her youth, but one of freedom and greatness once payment was made.”FTC Advisory: Berkley/Penguin provided me with a copy of Bengal’s Quest. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.
