About this audiobook

Conner Burke never expected Sofie Callahan to come back.

Where she's been for the last two and half years is a mystery, and so is the reason she left in the first place. Now, though, she's back in their hometown of Shelton Bay, South Carolina, at the same time Conner's band Dirty B. is home on a tour break.

Sofie Callahan has spent the months since her father's death avoiding anything to do with her hometown. But with her brother in Afghanistan, she has no choice but to return and sort out her father's house, even if it means facing the boy she fell in love with and revealing the reason she left.

Conner has questions, and when his broken heart and her guilty one collide, Sofie has to start answering them. Their present is rocky, their future unknown. Only one thing is certain: Sofie's daughter will change everything.Contains mature themes.

I am not sure which way to go with this review. I have so many thoughts, but I don't want to give away the story.

I can't lie. I got choked up in MANY parts of the book. Other parts I couldn't help but to giggle. I went through an array of emotions throughout this book!

One thing that throws me off... The title of this book isn't fitting for me. It makes it sound more salacious than it is. A child isn't a dirty secret. And this book isn't anywhere close to erotica. If I could change anything about this book, it would be the title.

The slow build of the relationships in this book was on-point. It wasn't too fast or too slow. I was able to swiftly read the book and feel like I was right in the story with them. Sofie's relationships with Conner and his family were so realistic and not forced. They developed (or redeveloped) in just the manner they should have.

I don't have anything negative to say in any regards. The whole book flowed and gave me a warm feeling in the pit of my stomach. If you are looking for that "breath of fresh air" book, this is most definitely the book for you!!!!
