About this audiobook

Abby Davis isn't wearing a skimpy bikini or sipping umbrella drinks, not when she's busy chasing around four little ones. And Matt McKinney isn't looking for fun-he's a Navy SEAL, a grown man with a long list of missions and fallen brothers.

Abby has brought her children to this beach to start over, to give them the enjoyable memories they deserve. Matt has been sidelined by a combat injury, and he is haunted by the loss of his best friend and the promise he made: to remain a SEAL-focused and dedicated. This leaves no time for what he's always wanted: a family.

Matt opens her heart while Abby soothes his soul. And though they plan to say good-bye when the week is over, something magical happens on that beach, something neither can forget. Something utterly, completely worth falling for.Contains mature themes.

This book is the ultimate "Mary Sue" for single moms/moms of young kids/pregnant women.
IF THAT SOUNDS LIKE A BAD THING, IT'S NOT!!!

The h was such an idealized "Madonna" figure.
IF THAT SOUNDS LIKE A BAD THING, IT'S NOT!!!

This book reminds me of the fantasies that young, innocent, adolescent me had of how completely a man would someday worship and adore me.
IT THAT SOUNDS LIKE A BAD THING, IT'S NOT!!!

SO much "not", that this gets the rare five stars from me, because it had allllllll the feels.

So very often books that idealize things this much fall too far in the realm of the "cheesy" or "corny".
This one definitely did tread the line of "unrealistic", but did so so successfully that I stayed invested from beginning to end.
I totally BOUGHT how much the H found himself longing for a family of his own, after watching his beloved nieces and nephews grow up, and how appealing and even peaceful the (sometimes) chaos of domesticity would seem to him after his career as a Navy Seal.

Shout out to Johanna Parker as well for her excellent narration.

This was my first book by this author, and definitely won't be my last.

Hm. Great story arc. i found the heroine to be a bit too woe is me. I mean, dude he is a seal. Deal with is. Sure he can promise but at the end of the day he has to go....

Reading #2 - found the heroine even more annoying this time. What a weak link. And that weakness and all plays out as selfish. DOnt' read this if you have family in the armed forces. it will piss you off. I really wanted to like it more.

I really enjoyed this book! I read the other 2 books in this series when they were released and decided that it was finally time to go back and read the first book. I am always looking for something a little different to read and this one definitely met that definition. I honestly cannot remember the last time I read a romance where the heroine is pregnant with 4 kids. This book not only worked, it worked well. I was really hooked by Matt and Abby's story and wanted to listen to it for hours at a time. I am so glad that I decided to pick this one up.Abby has taken her 4 young children to the beach for a vacation. Her husband recently died so it is just her and the kids. Abby is pregnant with her 5th child so she wants to fit one more trip before it becomes harder with a new baby. Matt is a Navy SEAL who is taking a much needed break at the beach. When Abby's son asks Matt to play ball with him, he can't say no. He finds himself wanting to spend more and more time with Abby and her family.I loved the characters in this book. I have to say that I don't tend to pick up a lot of books with kids playing a large role. I like kids and even have had a couple myself but I don't always like to read about them. These kids were amazing. They were all really great characters that added something to the story. Matt was such a great guy. I loved how he was with both Abby and the kids. It seemed so natural from the very beginning, like he was meant to be with them. Abby was such a great mom and very independent. I liked watching her learn to trust Matt and let him into her life.Johanna Parker does a wonderful job with the narration in this book. I have listened to her narration before and knew that I really liked her style. She handled all of the different characters in this book so well. She had realistic voices that she used for each character including the young children. She was able to put a lot of emotion into the reading and her voice was very pleasant to listen to for hours at a time. The only thing that didn't seem realistic about this story was how well behaved Abby's children were at all times. As a mom, I kind of wanted to see one of these kids have the meltdown you know would happen at some point. Anyone who has taken young children on vacation knows there is going to be tears, screaming, and most bodily fluids will most likely be involved. Of course, the absence of these things may be the reason that I liked these kids as much as I did.I would recommend this audiobook to others. It was a really fun and romantic story that was really a joy to listen to. I plan to read more of Claudia Connor's work in the future.

REVIEW: A heartwarming book about big families. Charming toddlers and heartbroken older kids that innocently work to draw in a hero.DESCRIPTION, NOT REVIEW: They meet on a beach. . . . I really need more stars to express how much I loved this book!! Debut author Claudia Connor hits it out of the park with this one and the next book in this series is already on my must read list.

Matt McKinney is a Navy SEAL who is starting to think there might be more to life. Abby Davis is a pregnant widowed mother of four who doesn't trust or love easily and is determined to make it on her own. Their attraction is immediate and intense and maybe too much to resist.

This is a beautifully written love story, not only between Matt and Abby but also between Matt and the kids! I absolutely did not want this book to end. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

This story had a really good start with such an adorable hero attracted to the heroine and her children but after the main event the rest of the book was all about insecurity and the hero lost his appeal perpetuating the situation. On vacation, one of Abby's four young children tosses a ball at Navy SEAL Matt and captures his interest.

I don't often give five starts to a book. This book was worth that star rating.

Most romance novels are like chocolates. They're really enjoyable, you can't wait to get more, but in the end, there isn't much substance. 'Worth The Fall' has substance.

The characters were well developed and three dimensional and their stores were believable and realateable. Even the children in the story had well developed personalities that had you caring about them as individuals.

My favorite thing about this book however is something a lot of romance novels are lacking these days, a fully developed story line. Matt does something Abby finds hard to forgive and the author helps her (believably) find the way. You finish this novel wanting more, not feeling cheated and I'm really looking forward to more from this author.

** I recevied this book through NetGalley for an honest review.

Be prepared for an emotional ride with this book. I laughed, I cried, and I even wanted to throw my Kindle on the floor with frustration a few times. Abby has some serious abandonment issues that she works through with Matt, but it's a good match, the two of them. Matt has the patience of a saint to help her the way he does, but him with those kids? Absolutely wonderful. If I had kids I'd totally want a man like Matt to step up. There were times those kids broke my heart and other times I loved them even more then Matt. I can't wait to meet more brothers from Matt's family and watch them fall just as hard for their women. I'm eagerly waiting for the next book in this series. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Matt's cousin needed him to be the fourth to their little party so Rob could get the girl he wanted. Matt tried, but he just couldn't dredge up any interest in the girl that was supposed to be his date. Especially not once the little boy named Jack hit him in the back with his football. Then he turned and saw Abby and he was mesmerized. Abby, Jack's mother, lost her husband six months ago…right after she found out she was pregnant once again. She only wants to take her kids to the beach, not meet someone else who will leave her like everyone else in her life. Abby has issues, but she doesn't realize that Matt can love her like she's never known…and he's got staying power too.Worth the Fall is one of the best books I've read in a long while. I adored how Ms. Connor showed the compassion, love and kindness to a pregnant widow and each and every one of her children. Matt was the absolute perfect hero and I thought he was the most sexy man the author could ever have written for this book. Not for his looks, but for his authentic show of feelings for Abby AND her children. The interaction between the hero and heroine was fantastic, but the interaction between Matt and the children was PRICELESS! Ms. Connor made me fall in love with all the characters and I felt their feelings as if they were my own. I loved Worth the Fall and I will most definitely be looking to read more in The McKinney Brothers Series. Matt is my new kind of hero and I think I've just found my new favorite author!
