Mackenzie Stone is an award-winning journalist and she has the Dallas SWAT team in her sites. She is sure that something is wrong; no group can be so squeaky clean. She's right but she would never have guessed that they are all werewolves.Gage Dixon is in charge of the team and the leader of the pack. He is determined that Mac will never find out the team's secret. However, despite his previous beliefs, it seems that Mac is The One - the woman who is the perfect match for his werewolf. He never even thought The One existed; he sure never thought that he would find her in the person of a nosy reporter who could blow his pack's cover.A local mobster has decided that the SWAT team needs to be taught a lesson. They killed his son. Of course, the son was robbing a bank and had taken quite a number of hostages. But still it was the SWAT team's fault that his son was killed. When threats and attempts to ambush Gage and Mac don't work, the mobster resorts to kidnapping. Mac learns Gage's secret and then has to decide which is stronger - her love to journalism and telling the truth at all times or her love for Gage. This was an engaging story with charismatic characters. I hope their are more stories in the works that show the other members of the pack finding The One for each of them.

Hungry Like The Wolf is the first book in Paige Tyler's newest series "SWAT" which just means we have a pack of a SWAT team, who are sexy shifter wolves and fight totally badass and are sexy hot!! I mean can you resist that combination? I certainly couldn't. When I was asked to do a honest review and spotlight post I was so excited to start this one. I have seen other books by this author, of course, but I haven't ever picked her up. And I just love this combination...good type cops, but are also part of a werewolf pack, and quite frankly shifters are my weakness. probably one of my favorite sub genres to read in the paranormal romance genre. They just do something for me, and I adore animals so I loved what Tyler's does with this series. Now this is the first book, so the hero, is the pack's leader and alpha, Gage Dixon. Gage will do anything to protect his pack and the men he has fought to protect and who are his family, and no woman will change his mind on that matter but he underestimated the power of the "One". Among wolf lore, every werewolf has a mate that is the one for him in every way, and Mackenzie could be the one but she is dangerous. Mackenzie is a journalist, and she has dedicated her life to the truth and sharing that truth. She suspects that Gage and his team are hiding something, and she means to find out what it is. But what she doesn't expec6t is to fall in love, or to discover a secret that could destroy the one man that has ever truly loved her....will she make the right choice?Hungry Like The Wolf was such a amazing read and after reading this author, I definitely HAVE to try her out again. I definitely love all the various aspects of the plot that seemed to blend together in a way that leaves a compelling story. This story was quite a romance and I couldn't help but just love it from the beginning. These two have quite the chemistry, and it builds up, they take some time working out this little courting dance they have going on here, and both of them tend to lean toward denying what they feel due to their suspicions of each other. They each have strong personalities and are so stubborn, yet they have a powerful bond to each other, and we really see that come into play from the beginning of the story. It was also quite fun to see the other members of the pack and the different ways they contributed to it as a whole. This story was exciting, full of mystery and anticipation, a steamy romance, and quite a powerful love story that thrilled me from head to toe. I just can't wait for the next book in the series. This was stunning and full of thrills and a paranormal mixture, of fun sexy wolves, sensual romancfe and adventure!! INTOXICATING!!

Hungry Like the Wolf begins a new series called SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team. So far the only big difference between this series and the X-Ops series is that the characters in X-Ops are shifters in a special forces type of military unit. The SWAT series are all wolf shifters in a police SWAT unit. What made this story stand out was the interaction of the characters, which can make or break any story, and made this one worth the time to read it.

This is - almost very very good. There's a really interesting story here, with complex characters interacting in multiple ways, a very interesting world (which is a little sketchy - but she's got the rest of the series to flesh out her version of werewolves), and a good romance. And then there's the sex. Or rather, the SEX. I almost quit after the first couple chapters, very bored with page after page of throbbing and dampening and hardening...note that at this point there's been no contact, not even a kiss, just them _thinking_ about it. The story eventually strengthened enough to make it worth my while, though admittedly I mostly skimmed the sex scenes. In the afterword, she says that she wanted to write an erotic story and kept discarding storylines because the story was stronger than the erotica...I wish she'd go with her obvious strengths, discard the pages and pages of sex scene and write just the story. Urban fantasy sells too...though probably not quite as well as erotica. Sigh. I will continue with the series, we'll see how it goes.

Book source ~ NetGalleyDallas SWAT, under Commander Gage Dixon, has shaped up to be the best unit in the US. He’s built his team from scratch in under 10 years, recruiting only those that meet his exacting criteria - they have to be the best in their field. Oh, and they have to be a werewolf. Say what?!Journalist Mackenzie Stone smells something funny about the much-touted Dallas SWAT team and she’s determined to dig until she finds out if they’re dirty or pumped up with PEDs (performance enhancing drugs). She had no idea she was walking right into the wolf’s den.I admit that I kinda loathe reporters/journalists and Mac is no exception. What a self-righteous prig she is. Not a fan of her, but at least she’s no shrinking violet. I love Gage and the entire SWAT team. The action is fast-paced, the bad guy is a bit too real, the steamy stuff is definitely fan-worthy, and I like the lore and humor. I’m not much on the plot device of having a woman be The One or whatever anyone else calls it. I think it’s a cop out. Blah. Anyway, other than those two points this is a pretty good read.

Paige Tyler, you amazing woman, you!!! I thought X-Ops was going to be my obsession from you - yes, I usually have certain series I like the best from some authors - but I was wrong! Now I can't decide which shifter series of hers I like more, they're both so different and yet so delicious!Gage Dixon knows that in order to keep reporter Mackenzie Stone out of his SWAT team's biggest secrets, he needs to control the kind of information she stumbles upon. But what he doesn't count on, is Mac being his fated mate - now how can an Alpha werewolf cop keep his pack safe AND his girl's curiosity sated? Guess it's time for the tough guy to get serious about his priorities - and for Mac to realize what really counts in life...I think this book makes it official: no one writes cops and shifters the way Paige Tyler does. NO ONE!Gage and his team had me panting like a dog - no pun intended - with their antics. It was one thing to know those sexy hunky cops were also werewolves. It was another to see them acting like teenagers whenever anything that had to do with love was involved. It was so sweet how they kept covering for each other despite their constant fights, and how they were happy to know that there might be a woman meant for each of them out there. Like some oversized, dangerous, hot puppies - yeah, I so went there! As for Mac, well, she wasn't exactly my cup of tea. Her dedication to her story and job was remarkable, I'll give her that, but after some point, she was crossing some line and she didn't even care. She even tried to justify herself! I'm so glad Zak was by her side to act as the brain she seemed to be lacking at the moment. Don't underestimate the nerdy guy besties, ladies, they KNOW what they're talking about most of the time! The romance was hot as hell - the way Tyler always writes it, and the way we prefer it, actually! The action came in buckets, and the whole suspense was part of the package deal, so there's not a moment to rest with this book - not that I expected to take a breath, anyway...Now to wait for the other guys to get their happy endings, too - is it too much to ask for Cooper's book to come out soon? I fell in love with his wolfy ass, and it's turning into an obsession...***I was given an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinion stated in this review is solely mine, and no compensation was given or taken to alter it.***

I really liked this book. I mean, come on, it's about alpha men on a SWAT team who also happen to be wolf shifters. How can you possibly turn down that combination? I wish she would've went into the wolf thing a little more, but hopefully as the series progresses there will be more about their abilities and weaknesses. The romance was spot on and I'm curious as to how Mackenzie will be helping out the other guys. Looking forward to see how this series will unfold. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF was not hard to get into. Take a bunch of sexy wolves, make them an awesome SWAT team and I will read it any day. Thankfully there was more to the story than that, but come on, sexy SWAT wolves? You know you want to pick this book up just for that reason alone.Mackenzie is an investigative journalist and she has her eyes set on exposing the SWAT team. She knows there is something going on there, has no clue what, but she knows it will make a great story and she can't wait to tell it. I liked Mac. She is a go-getter and I liked that about her. There were a few things about her that also bugged me though. BECAUSE she is a reporter she has this, I must tell the public way of thinking and I really wanted to smack her around a few times for that. The public doesn't need to know everything, especially when you ruin a good people in the process. Gage is the leader of the Dallas SWAT team and boy does his team catch your attention from the beginning of HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF. He wants to keep his pack safe, so when Mac starts sniffing around, he has to figure out how to make it seem like he's not hiding anything while also keeping her at a distance. The romance between Mac and Gage is pretty hot, there is instant attraction, lots of dodging feelings, and lots of steam produced when they finally give in. I really wish there was a little more wolf going on. We know that the team is full of wolves and they definitely act like wolves, but we don't actually get the wolf moments you might be expecting going in. As for the story. OK, so I will admit there wasn't a lot of mystery to the storyline. Things were a little predictable, but it was still very enjoyable. There was a nice pace and flow to the story and there is PLENTY of action. The introduction kept it's promise. The Special Wolf Alpha Team is tight, they are on target and the men are definitely as alpha as they come. I have enjoyed Tyler's X-Ops Series so far and now I can't wait to read the next book in the SWAT series, I think I am going to have to branch out to Tyler's backlist and read some of her other series as well.* This book was provided free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Investigative journalist Mackenzie Stone is convinced that the Dallas SWAT team is hiding something. It is up to SWAT team commander, Gage Dixon, to keep Stone from discovering the team is comprised of Wolf Shifters.Gage is a magnificent hero. He is brave and loyal. He cares about his pack and protecting the innocent.I enjoyed Mac. She is inquisitive and smart. She is persistent in her quest to uncover the truth. I like that she grows in the novel and realizes that unearthing reality is not always for the best. The plot was interesting and believable. The action never stopped and kept me intrigued. The book flows well and is easily read.Hungry Like the Wolf is an excellent foundation for the SWAT series. I look forward to reading Paige Tyler’s future books in the series.Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Reviewed by: Rabid Reads.Nothing starts a new year off right quite like a debut werewolf series, and Paige Tyler brings it with SWAT. There are sixteen alpha males to choose from, so you’re sure to find at least one to drool over, and first in line is their smexy leader, Gage Dixon. HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF was light on shifter lore, but heavy on scorching romps which makes it the perfect read for Paranormal Romance groupies looking for a bit of danger, and a whole lot of steam. The story was predictable, and insta-love goes hand-in-hand with this genre, so if you’re expecting something other than entertaining fluff you should probably keep walking, however if quality PNR is your kryptonite then this is where it’s at.This is essentially Romantic Suspense with a supernatural slant, and I loved how Tyler combined the two! The very notion that a team of smokin’ hot werewolf officers are protecting the citizens of Dallas was enough to make me one-click this title. There’s just something about a man in uniform that lights my fire, and if you throw in fur I’m done for. The plot wasn’t that difficult to figure out, but still interesting enough to keep me turning the pages at a quick pace. SWAT kills a mob boss’ son during a hostage situation, the king pin is now out for blood, and all the while Mackenzie Stone is trying to prove that the city’s golden boys aren’t as clean as they appear to be. I’ll leave it to you to fill-in the rest.I was let down by the were aspects of this story line; other than knowing from page one that the characters are no ordinary cops, the author doesn’t dig any further into that aspect until much later, and even then very sparingly. I liked that the mates lingo was replaced by The One, that their first change is brought on by a high-stress, life-threatening situation instead of the usual puberty / bite / full moon, and that the author focused on scent. However, other than those three elements, plus a brief mention of DNA and babies, that’s pretty much all of the werewolf mythology that this novel had to offer. Do they HAVE to change? Are there females? I could have done with one less sex scene, and more deets. The attraction between Mac & Gage was immediate, but their love was not; granted the latter did happen in under a week which is to be expected whenever a HEA occurs in one installment. They had great chemistry, and their sex marathons will make you wish that you had a member of the Special Wolf Team Alpha at your beck and call. I had to roll my eyes when Stone exposed Dixon’s secret, and did exactly what you’d expect a journalist to do—pick the story over the man—only to later regret her decision, and crawl back begging forgiveness. Of course Gage accepts her apology, she joins the Pack, and everything is hunky-dory after that. I was just hoping for a little twist. Still, their tale was a cute one.A seductive book filled with peril and romance; HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF was yummilicious!

Good read! Gage and the guys were my favorite part of the book. Definitely a great beginning to a new series. If you love series like Lords of the Underworld or Black Dagger Brotherhood you will love this Special Wolf Alpha Team. Hungry Like the Wolf is action filled, with an exciting plot. Gage and Mac make a great pair. I wasn't a big fan of Mac's at the beginning, but she grew on me. Shifter fans won't want to miss this one.
