About this audiobook

The beloved writing tandem of Rita Mae Brown and her feline collaborator Sneaky Pie craft another tantalizing mystery with Hiss of Death. Spring is in the air in Crozet, Virginia, and Mary Minor "Harry" Haristeen looks forward to her first season of harvesting grapes. But then Harry falls ill and finds herself in a hospital-where a nurse turns up dead. When another hospital staffer kicks the bucket soon after, it falls to Harry's animal friends to crack the case.

Love her books more each time. I find I agree with her views but most of all her love of animals.

    Too much political ranting

Written by someone who really doesn't understand how insurance companies really work. Yes, they can be obstructive but they can also do a lot of good if you educate yourself on how they work.

Too many political rants in the mouths of her characters, but not as bad as other recent books in the series. Could do with more mystery and less of that. The cancer part was interesting, but predictable.

Ms. Brown is still using her fiction to beat her readers over her head with her political views. I still love Tee Tucker, Mrs. Murphy and Pewter, but the subplot was both unrealistic and annoying. When Harry is diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer, does she cry and scream and rage at the unfairness? Nooooo, she goes and works out and solves multiple murders.

I just loved this book! And sometimes that is NOT the case with Rita. She didn't get on her soapbox as much in this book. It was entertaining although the ending was so farfetched it was almost like something out of Disney. You just had to laugh. A quick read and a job well done.
