About this audiobook

A difficult marriage has left the Helmuths' widowed great-granddaughter, Beth, finished with wedlock. She's content to live with her great-grandparents and make a life for herself and her toddler son. But once she turns down handsome Tyler Yoder's proposal, it seems only fair to encourage him to find a suitable wife. Trouble is, his gentleness and generous ways are showing her how joyous a real meeting of hearts can be . . .

After a failed courtship, Tyler thought the best he could hope for in a wife was mere companionship. But spirited Beth is the one he longs to protect and hold close. Earning her trust is the hardest thing he's ever had to do. And soon, both will discover that forgiveness and understanding are gifts that only rekindled faith-along with the happiest of holidays-can bring.

This is a wonderful heart warming and clean romantic novel. It is well written with warm and very likable characters. I loved he story line and enjoyed the read. Beth is a widow who has come home to her grandparents house with her young son. She is looking for a way to support herself and her son as she feels that she is definitely done with marriage. Her marriage had not been a happy one and she did not want to be under a man's control again. Unfortunately her grandmother was a rather successful match maker and had a man in mind for her granddaughter. Tyler Yoder is all man. However, he has a gentle nature and quickly falls under Beth's spell. He soon discovers that he is no longer interested in remaining a bachelor, however, Beth is just as sure that she can find him a wife...who is NOT her.**Good Reads win

Now a widow, Beth’s marriage was so terrible that she never wants to marry again. But Tyler has other ideas, and tries his best to change her mind. Thus begins a tug-of-war tale that has its share of ups and downs for both. Sprinkled with humor and dosed with romance, this Amish tale may be a bit sappy at times, but still is quirky enough to be enticing.

Huckleberry Christmas is the third heartwarming installment in Jennifer Beckstrand's charming Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill series. In this outing, matchmaking grandparents Anna and Felty Helmuth are pairing up their widowed great granddaughter Beth Hostetler with Tyler Yoder.

Beth and her young son Toby are living with Anna and Felty after her return to town following her husband's death. Her marriage was far from idyllic and she has absolutely no plans to remarry. Beth is prickly and she fiercely guards her newly found independence. She is a little hot tempered, but once she cools off, she is quick to admit when she has made a mistake. Beth uses humor to deflect attention from her past but behind her cheerful facade, she is trying to put the ghosts from her marriage behind her.

Tyler is serious, even-tempered and unflappable. Having had his heart broken when his engagement ended, he is not looking for love when he meets Beth. He respects her need for independence but he finds ways to work around her objections to accepting some of his assistance. He takes her temper in stride and he is quick to forgive.

Tyler and Beth's romance begins as friendship and their relationship evolves slowly over several months. Their interactions are light-hearted and laced with humor. As their friendship deepens into love, Beth is quick to push Tyler away but it is not until her past collides with the present, that she truly begins to heal. As she begins to let go of her anger toward God, Beth is finally able to recognize the blessings in her life.

Huckleberry Christmas is a wonderful novel of love, family and friendship. Once again, Jennifer Beckstrand's gentle lesson of faith is thought-provoking and easy to relate to. The storyline is refreshingly unique with richly developed and likeable characters. Old and new fans are sure to enjoy this heartfelt and engaging addition to The Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill series.

Another fantastic read by this author. I passed Huckleberry Hill and Huckleberry Summer on to a friend from church and she is hooked too! (She will be getting this also!) She then is passing these books on to her daughter. Do you see a pattern here?Once again I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the antics of Felty and Anna Helmuth. There is a lot of laughter from these two! How can the reader not love them? Will Felty and Anna be able to help their granddaughter Beth learn to love God and life again? So much has happened to Beth, will she learn to trust God again? Will she let go of the bitterness and hurt? Can she ever forgive those who abused her? This is a must read. Pick up your copy today!I can't wait to get started on Huckleberry Spring!

Back for another wonderful visit with Annie and Felty Helmuth, and Amish country in Wisconsin. Annie is back at her matchmaking for her grandchildren, and next on the list is Beth, and Annie-bannanie has chosen a fellow we met in the last book Tyler Yoder. Now Beth has come to stay with her Grandparents, she is a young woman with a darling little boy. What we are about to find out was that she had been in an abusive marriage, and doesn’t plan to even put herself in that position ever again. She has been terrible hurt and needs a lot of healing and learning to trust God, not herself. Then we have Tyler, was he hurt when his girl ended up with the Helmets grandson? Will he be interested in Beth? You will be surprised at how his feeling develop. Had to love this fellow and how he kept himself, and how deeply he followed his faith. There are a few of Beth’s decisions that will make you cringe, and sometimes I felt like shaking her. I had to wonder if Beth would survive some of her former relatives. Come back again for a wonderful and joyful visit with the Helmut Grand/Great Grandparents, sure would love to have them for mine.Throughout the story I felt God’s hand there and leading them to end up at the right spot at the right time. What a great story of Faith, and how it is shared in this community.I can’t wait for the next book in this series, and there is a little tease offered!I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Kensington Books, and was not required to give a positive review.

What a joyful book, as Mammi Anna sets in for her latest matchmaking schemes. Beth a widow, who was married to an emotionally abusive man, is now determined to make a life for herself and her little redheaded cutie son Toby on her own. She doesn't want to take a chance on love again. Tyler is in love with her, he makes bacon pancakes for her and purposes, but she turns him down but offers to help him find a good wife. I laughed my way through this book as Beth learns to trust God and to love again. Mammi Anna and Dawdi Felty are grandparents that everyone would love to have. I could almost hear Felty singing as I turned the pages of this book and had the feeling that I was also there on Huckleberry Hill. I received a free copy of this book from Kensington Books and Net Gallery in exchange for my honest review rather it be good or bad. Thank you.Look for this on October 7 2014
