Elisabeth Naughton

Before topping multiple bestseller lists—including those of the New York Times, USA Today, and the Wall Street Journal—Elisabeth Naughton taught middle-school science. This is one of the best series I've read. Naughton doesn't disappoint! Action, intrigue, romance, humour, and great chemistry between the lead characters! Everything i could want! I love the fact that, while reading this book and questions arise.. I have no clue what is going to happen.. too often in books I can guess what is going to happen and it usually does even if sometimes with a twist. But Ms. Naughton just keeps me on the edge.. no hints. She delivers it perfectly. This book was worth the wait!!! This author is a must read for me!

4 ½ of 5 StarsNick is the leader of the half-breeds. He has been imprisoned by Hades in hopes of gaining Nick’s powers.Nick is a great character. He is strong both physically and mentally. I sympathized for him because he always seems to get the short end of the stick. I’m glad he meets Cynna; she can distract and comfort him when he needs it most.Cynna background is very intriguing. She is full of vengeance because of the loss of her parents. I’m interested in seeing what happens with her in future books. Her character is full of surprises.Cynna and Nick have intense chemistry. They both enjoy the same things and complement each other well.I found Zagreus interesting. He is an intense bad guy. He is cruel but is a strange way cares for Cynna. Eternal Guardians continues to be a praiseworthy series. The plot continues to be thrilling and carefully-planned.Elisabeth Naughton is an extremely talented writer. Whenever I pick up one of her books, I am impressed by her style and creativity.Complimentary copy provided by publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I waited soooooooooooo long for this book to come out and man! wasn't it worth the wait. Loved every word. It so great to see Nick finally finding his mate albeit without the soul part attached, but with no less love and devotion than the rest of the Argonauts but then Nick never really been one. Please Elisabeth Naughton don't take too long to release Ravaged. Who's story is it this time? Cerek? Phineas? or somebody else? CAN'T WAIT!

I've been following the Eternal Guardians series and couldn't wait to read Twisted which is Nick's story and wasn't disappointed at all. This tale really explains Nick's half breed heritage and family and as his powers grow stronger his true destiny is revealed. Zagreus has Nick in his dungeon and has Cynna, (a beauty, held on a bad deal she should never of made with Zagreus) torture him in an attempt to break his will so his god powers will come in.Cynna is a strong, feisty, determined woman, who has to make the decision to disobey Zagreus who'd promised to break her mind, body and soul. But he'll never have her will. Can she save herself and help Nick escape? I liked her very much.Nick has always been a loner so it was nice to see his character getting closer to the someone and seem to be a part of the Guardians more and trusting them. The book is full of our favourite Guardian characters with action and hot steamy romance scenes galore. I love this series and Twisted is a great addition to the Eternal Guardians series. I Highly Recommend this book. 5/5

Twisted by Hannah Jayne is a suspenseful young adult mystery.

Changing her name from Beth Anne Reimer is just the first step for Bex Andrews as she begins a new life in Kill Devil Hills with her new foster family. Seven long months after her grandmother's death, she is quite eager to leave behind the legacy of her suspected serial killer father. Dubbed "The Wife Collector" by the media, Bex's dad vanished before he could be tried for his crimes. However, due to the notoriety of the case, Bex and her grandmother were vilified by their neighbors and they essentially lived in seclusion. Now living with a terrific family who have no idea about her past, Bex's happiness is quickly marred by a series of murders that are eerily similar to ones her father is alleged to have committed ten years earlier.

Bex is a relatable yet, extremely frustrating, character. On the one hand, it is impossible not to feel empathy for everything she has endured. She feels responsible for her father's arrest and she continues to harbor doubts about his guilt even in the face of overwhelming evidence that refutes his claim of innocence. Bex is incredibly naive and extremely gullible which makes her very easy to manipulate. She is also plagued with self-doubts which become tired and repetitive as she constantly lets these fears overrule her common sense. These annoying traits along with her fears, nervous reactions, excessive crying, throwing up and inattentiveness quickly wear thin and make it virtually impossible to like Bex by the time the novel ends.

With most of the focus on Bex and her past, the secondary cast of characters suffer from a lack of development. Her foster parents are quite supportive and while it is understandable Bex wants to escape from her past, at some point, she should have confided in them and asked for help. Bex is quickly befriended by some of her new classmates but they remain rather one-dimensional. Her new romance with Trevor moves at lightning speed and although he is quite charming, his character also falls a little flat.

The mystery aspect of Twisted is certainly intriguing and Hannah Jayne does an excellent job keeping readers wondering if the current murders are, in fact, connected to The Wife Collector case. However, Bex's continued belief in her father's innocence seems highly improbable when all of the evidence against him is revealed. Some of the storyline is certainly eyebrow raising but completely implausible so be prepared to suspend disbelief as the plot unfolds. The conclusion is predictable yet satisfying since all of the loose ends are completely wrapped up.
