About this audiobook
It didn't take a week for twenty-seven-year-old Sal Casillas to wonder what she'd seen in the international soccer icon-why she'd ever had his posters on her wall, or ever envisioned marrying him and having super-playing soccer babies.
Sal had long ago gotten over the worst non-break-up in the history of imaginary relationships with a man that hadn't known she'd existed. So she isn't prepared for this version of Reiner Kulti who shows up to her team's season: a quiet, reclusive shadow of the explosive, passionate man he'd once been.
Mariana Zapata
Mariana Zapata lives in a small town in Colorado with her husband and two oversized children—her beloved Great Danes, Dorian and Kaiser. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, spending time outside, forcing kisses on her boys, or pretending to write.

I don't care if books are instalove or slow burn, but DAMN does Mariana Zapata know how yo write great slow burn! Sal and Kulti habevsuch an incredible journey from youth and youth idol, player and coach, best friends to everything. I'm so glad that a bookstagrammer recommended this in so many romance videos. Will have to check out more if her books now because Kulti was that good2 people found this helpful

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What's not to love about Kulti? I've read the book before, but when I saw the audio become available in Scribd I had to listen to it! It didn't disappoint, the narrator did a good job, I thought she captured Salome's personality well. Her Spanish sounded good to my untrained ear, and her German accent wasn't bad. If you haven't read it, it's a classic Mariana Zapata slow burn, enemies to friends to lovers story with great depth of character & story.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5should’ve DNF’d immediately…but alas, I always force myself to try and finish books. I unfortunately only wanted to read this because of everyone talking about it. The summary didn’t even really draw me in but here we are. Firstly…There was too much poop talk lol. Sal is supposed to be (27?) and has to remind herself Kulti is still a normal person who shits…no. I didn’t really like being in Sal’s head either. Too many tangents and constant The German, German Chocolate Cake, Bratwurst and “Bah” or “GAH.” enough!! Plus she reads like a teenage girl who isn’t like other girls. If this is what MZ’s slow burns are, not sure I’ll read any more from her. Just excessive dialogue that doesn’t bring much to the table and Kulti didn’t even seem interesting. And too much soccer talk lol sorry for those who love the game but Jesus it became incredibly repetitive. Very surprised so many people gave this 5 stars/is their favorite book ??. There’s too much I disliked I’m not even gonna waste any more time writing it lol

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Took way too long to get to the point. Especially because the first half of the book had absolutely nothing going on. Lol why does she keep referring to him as the German?! It's so weird! The hype around this book is complete off, besties! DNF. It frustrated me to the point where I didn't care what happened. Too long a book given that nothing happens. Absolutely nothing! Nah.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is of the best romances I’ve read—It’s a slow burn romance you won’t be able to put down! If you’re a fan of the friends-to-lovers trope, or celebrity romances this book is for you!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Grumpy sunshine trope here. I was never a fan of slow burns until this writer. The beginning was a drag and almost DNF for a month.Really good MC development and the chemistry was off the charts. The male MC was so intense and I almost wanted to shout at the female MC about why she couldn't read between the lines before his declaration of love. I just wish the epilogue was a bit longer and Mariana gave us a little more glimpse into Kulti's family and divorce. I also enjoyed the fact that it gave me a much needed break from double POVs and only does the female side.
I had read Wall Of Winnipeg before this and I can't even decide which is I like better. Mariana is the queen of slow burns!1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Strong character development. Lovely build up. A tad bit short on the conclusion and romance.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another example why Zapata is called the Queen of Slow Burns! I am not huge on sports romances, but I am so glad the reviews convinced me! I could NOT PUT THIS AUDIOBOOK DOWN. I loved Sal’s fire, kindness, loyalty and fierceness and let’s just say Kulti ripped my heart out and mended it back together.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Slow burn, great read, and realistic enough to not pull you from the story- but still fun
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I Absolutely love this book I have read it before. This was the first time I listened to the audiobook And narration was perfection
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Freaking loved this book so much. A must read for sports romance fans!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing read; sports romance and on the edge the whole time
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Underwhelming. The smut at the end wasn't good enough for hours of nothing. Some good parts but not great.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really didn't understand the obsession of Mariana Zapata. I loved her slow burn romances I loved the build up, I loved the characters some more than others. And I was never bored.
Untill I read Kulti, this was amazing. I get it now.
Kulti's protectivness of Sal and his way of supporting her and taking care of her without words was 2 die for!. I see myself re reading this more in the future. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love the angst and their relationship. The end is so worth it!!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It was a rough start, I wanted to dnf it 2 hours in. But after that I was so hooked I was shocked when it was nearly over. I will be revisiting this one day for sure.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5THIS BOOK IS AMAZING. I LOVE ALL THE CHARACTERS! Read it lol
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is an amazing book. The characters relationship is developed really well over the whole book. Their volatile friendship and developing love is beautiful. If a man ever said what Kulti says to me by the last few chapters I woukd be putty in their hands. The narration in audio is perfect. He accent, sarcasm and pace is just perfect for the characters.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The entire book was on long internal monologue. I have no idea what the female lead looks like. Didn't need to be this long.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Repetitive in the way she conveys she is constantly start struck. Kulti's character could've been fleshed out more. Appreciate the slow burn but it felt stale at times. It's addictive enough to read through as cute simple read
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5WOW. HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE !! FOR SURE GOING TO BE LISTENING AND COMING BACK MORE THAN ONCE ! HIGHLY RECKON YOU READ AND OR LISTEN !
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Mariana is just the queen of slow burn, grumpy/sunshine and she didn't disappoint.
I absolutely adored Sal and Kulti's relationship and the way Sal stood up to Kulti made me so proud. There were many times that I fully stopped everything I was doing to stop and really listen to what was happening. Kulti is a man of few words but when he spoke he never failed to make some smart arse comment or just ruin the other characters whole day. Sal's family were hilarious especially her father but the whole book seemed to point towards the conflict that would occur between Sal's brother and Kutli, which then never happened. I was really surprised about that and there was a conflict scene but it wasn't where the book seemed to be pointing towards the majority of the time.
The character development is on point, especially for Kulti and I loved seeing some of the characters from the other books.
