About this audiobook
After years of living abroad, Maizy returns home to the only family she's ever known-a pack of wolves. When she confronts her childhood watchdog to see where they stand, his resentment leaves her uncertain about where she really belongs.
Behind Denver's charming smile is a tragic past-one that's made his wolf savage and unpredictable. Only Maizy has been able to tame that darkness, and when they're reunited after many years apart, he no longer sees a child he once protected. She's captivating and intelligent-a woman with the world at her fingertips and two suitors offering more than he ever could.
Torn between two worlds, Maizy must choose how her fairy tale ends. Tragedy, murder, passion, and imprisonment all collide with a heart-stopping twist.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5May be it was okay in shifter world, but not in my puny human world would i accept "peanut" (which implies a kid) raised and watched over by a shifter, being mated to said wolf-man. And the kicker, he still calls her peanut.
I was okay with Jelly bean as they were close in age. But not this pair. Can't stomach it whenever they all reminisce about her childhood memories and still okay with.......... ? - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What can I say that hasn't already been said by others? This book has passion, death, comedy, family, resilience, love, and secrets. I enjoyed Denver & Maizy's story. Ms. Dark does a stupendous job at weaving a story through emotional baggage and relationship turmoil. I always enjoy her Breed stories.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/54.5 "More Than Human" Stars for the story and 5 Stars for Nicole Poole's narration! Fans of the Seven Series have undoubtedly been waiting on pins and needles for Denver's story. Well we finally get to see if there is more to his relationship with Maizy. As Maizy's childhood watchdog (a supernatural being who becomes a protector to a human child), we frequently got to see the unique bond between Denver and Maizy; and Denver's extreme protective nature towards her. In this sixth installation of the Seven Series, we finally get to see what happens when a grown-up Maizy no longer needs a watchdog. As you can imagine, and as is typical with most paranormal/urban fantasy romance series, Two Minutes is best enjoyed after having experienced the prior five books. Particularly as it relates to Denver and Maizy, who have figured prominently in the background stories of all the prior books in the series, it would be difficult to fully understand the background of their story without reading or listening to this series in chronological order. All that said, given the time difference in Two Minutes versus the prior books, the adult relationship between these two characters is entirely contained in this book, and therefore the romance/love story of this book can be read as a stand-alone. Of course, there is also an intricate PNR/UF arc that has been built over the prior books, including at least one crucial secondary character, that you will also have a limited view of, if you only read or listen to this book.Maizy has just returned from England where, at the insistence of her family she has spent the last few years acclimating to living with solely humans, after having been raised her entire childhood in the Weston Wolf Pack. During these years away she has been particularly estranged from Denver, though not for her lack of trying. Yet, he always seemed to be mysteriously absent when she called back home or even on the occasion when the Pack came out to visit her while away. Maizy misses her special relationship with Denver and now that she is back home, she is determined to reestablish that connection again.Denver, in turn, has purposefully been evading Maizy. Her departure brought to the forefront her mortal nature, and he knows that eventually he will lose her too and has determined that it is better to distance himself now. However, Maizy, is not the same girl who left the Weston Pack all those years ago, and his mistaking her for his blind date upon her return only begins to spark the tip of the iceberg as to his attraction to this grown-up version of the girl he has always vowed to protect.Maizy, however, has also caught the eye of another, much more powerful and rich suitor, and he is determined to make Maizy his mate for reasons that most of the Weston Pack is unaware of. Who will Maizy ultimately align her future with? Will she even have a choice? Nicole Poole, as always, renders a fabulous performance in Two Minutes. Evidencing incredible consistency in her voicing of the various characters, Ms. Poole once again brings together this eclectic cast of shifters and, in a few cases, the humans they love. Showing incredible depth, Ms. Poole also manages to keep the same general intonation she has always used for Maizy's childhood voice but convincingly adds some depth and maturity to portray what a grown-up version of Maizy should sound like. In addition to her great range with being able to bring together personality specific voices for each member of the large Seven Series cast, Ms. Poole also does a fantastic job of timing her delivery so as to draw the maximum effect from her listeners. From the fast paced, action-filled scenes, to the slower more emotional ones, you can always count on Ms. Poole to bring this story to life in a dynamic, true to the script way.All in all, Two Minutes is another superb addition to the Seven Series. Without a doubt this series has become one of my favorite PNR/UF audiobook series of all time!Source: Review copy provided in exchange for an honest review.
