Review: The Horrible Harry series always gets kids attention. All of Harry's stories with his friends happen at school, which all kids can relate to, if its performing a skit in front of class or talking about a book like "Charlottes Web". This book is entertaining and full of suspense! You want to keep reading to see what Harry is going to do next.Summary: The children's book, "Horrible Harry and the Green Slime", by Suzy Kline is a chapter book full of stories where a little boy, Doug, talks about his best friend Harry and his other classmates. This book is split up into four stories which Doug tells. Each story Harry does something "horrible" but in the end it makes everyone happy. I thought this was a cute book that was narrated by Doug, Harry's best friend. The stories would be Doug narrating something odd that Harry would be doing, like coming up with an idea on why cigarettes are bad (in the form of a play), having all the students post spiderwebs around the school in honor of Charlotte's web, and even making the mysterious green slime. I think children would love this book because it shows them that thinking outside the box is also a great idea to express one's own creativity.

The reason why I gave this book a two is because I really do not enjoy reading Horrible Harry's books. Horrible Harry's series are not my favorite books. In this book, Harry learns about what it meants to be a friend, the danger of smoking, and ithey read Charlotte's Web. They put cobwebs all over the school. The last chapter Harry teaches the class how to spike their hair and shows the class how to make green slime. This book can be use in making a connection to the children in a classroom by using the demonstrations chapter. Each child in the class room can demonstrate something to the whole class. This book also can connect to the children by showing them about friendship that can be made in a classroom.

This book is a good example of realistic fiction because it’s narrated by a boy that goes to south school that tells about his friendship and the activities they do in the classroom. Characterization: Doug is a round character because you know a lot about him and how he’s feeling through is narration of the story
