An excellent summary of the Civil War although not quite as entertaining as the author's book on the Vikings. Of course, the nature of the material and the fact that it is more recent makes it difficult to rely on the light teen colloquialism to work. As an adult reader, I find it useful in the information that is new to me that I learn, and this delivers.
