This one is a changeling romance with the two parties certain they will never have a bond. Riaz, a lone wolf who did find his mate but she is married and in love with someone else and he will not break up the relationship and Adria a dominate woman licking her wounds after a failed relationship. They are attracted to one another but both of them refuse to have a serious relationship. Of course the road to true love will have some bumps but it does happen in the end. The war plot moves along but nothing huge. Still entertained by it so will keep reading.

Hawke and Sienna's book is a tough act to follow, which is why I think this one switched gears a bit. Sure, there is angst (as set up by the premise) but the majority of the book is sugary sweet, loving scenes between various couples. I do have to say, thought, that I was a wee bit disappointed by Adria's baggage - sorry, but having a failed relationship is pretty much a part of life and I don't really get why she was so traumatized. At first, I was super excited, because I was hoping she was all ice princess because of something that would land her on my Abused, Traumatized Heroines shelf, but in the end, it was just the usual incompatibility. Wah. (3.5 stars)

Note: It appears that Tangle of Need is a transition book - while some of the older storylines get closure, others continue to develop and new ones are introduced.

The highlight of the book are the updates to two of my favorite couples in the series, Hawke and Sienna & Mercy and Riley. These are engaging and solidify my appreciation for Singh's characterization.

That said, the primary romance between Riaz and Adria is disappointing. They are a sweet couple but the development of their relationship is predictable. Moreover, they are very minor characters in the series up to this point, which makes it difficult to feel any emotional attachment to them or care one way or they other whether they work out their issues.

As always, the continuation of the Psy conspiracy/civil war plot line is intriguing and more information is provided on some of the secondary characters, particularly the Arrow, Vasic, who has excellent potential as a tortured hero (yum, yum). The small cliffhanger surrounding Kaleb Krychek is compelling and I look forward to finding out what will happen next.

Wasn't my favorite out the series, but it was still really good. It didn't focus so much on one couple as it did on multiple couples, but the series progressed well.

Nalini Singh is an infuriating, genius of a woman. She is the master of creating and sustaining political intrigue and frustrating mysteries, all the while skillfully conducting the actions of a small army of entertaining characters. She tantalizes and titillates the brains of her readers, challenging us to spot important information, to guess at what will happen next, manipulating our senses and emotions.

There are many questions we're all asking, the main one being: Who is the Ghost? In this book, Kaleb becomes the more likely candidate by revealing his true power and skill during an emergency rescue mission but I believe him to be a red herring, although I am interested in what his real endgame is. Despite Vasic's weary, defeated outlook his conscience also rules him out. I want to know more about Zaid Adelaja and whether he could be alive. He was the first Arrow, the son of the "father" of the Silence protocol, and someone important to Alice -he could be the Ghost. The Ghost handed Alice over to Judd and SnowDancer for safe-keeping. It could be him.

I'm extremely disappointed in Ming's pathetic plan to snare Sienna. He's supposed to be the ultimate and supreme strategist. Instead of trying to seduce her with reason alone he should've incapacitated her, implanted the control chip, force her to divulge her secrets and turn her into the weapon that would destroy her friends and mate. What an idiot. I look forward to his death.

I wasn't as interested in the romantic coupling as I thought I'd be. Adria certainly deserved happiness after Martin and Riaz had a unique hurdle to overcome but it was Adria who was unexpectedly the one required to break down and take that leap of faith. The elderly human couple was so sweet an example of a relationship without a mate bond being just as devoted and loving as a couple could be.

My favourite quote can be applied to many situations within this book:

"Some things need to broken to become stronger." ~The Ghost

Bonds, alliances and information networks have expanded and tightened. The civil war has begun. The Psy are on the brink self-destruction. Will Silence perish? And will the Net go with it? So many possible outcomes. I can't wait to find out what will happen.

Who is going to have the next book? At first I thought it would be Amara, then Vasic, and then Kaleb finds the object of his long search...Who is she? Faith's cousin, Sahara, who went missing 9 years ago, perhaps? So many mysteries. Evidently, this series still has life in it because this is book 11 and I'm not tired of it yet.

Really liked it, but there were so many stories intricated into the main plot that it sometimes made it hard to keep track of what it supposed to be the main focus, that was Adria and Riaz's relationship. Pretty great to see their emotions growing and developing to its final stage in the end of the book. I'm getting pretty intrigued by Kaleb's discovery. Can't wait to see who it is.

I am going to have to go back and read the other books in this series. There is so much going on from one book to the next that a year between releases makes it hard to remember what has gone before. This is Riaz Delgado and Adria Morgan’s story. The story picks up shortly after the battle in Kiss of Snow. The Snow Dancers are recovering from the Pure Psy attack and hoping to find out what Pure Psy is planning next. The story moves through the weeks and we are given a glimpse of the lives of the characters that we love from earlier stories. Even though there was a battle and members of the pack were killed rest of the pack goes on with the day to day living that keeps us sane. The Snow Dancers continue to make alliances with other shifters hoping to keep the pack as safe as possible. Everyone knows that there is going to be a civil war among the Psy it is already beginning. I am torn on how I feel about Kaleb Krychek. I am not sure if he is a good guy and the evil nasty super villain that he seems to be. He is looking for something throughout this story and finally finds it at the end of the book. The person he is searching for meets a great deal to him but we aren't given any details that will tell who the person is and that relationship there is between the two. I am hoping that this man that is trying to win the trust of the Arrows isn't a villain like Ming and Titiana. I was glad to read about the death of one of the councilors. He was a despicable man received what he deserved.Riaz is a lone wolf that has come back to the pack to heal the wounds of finding his mate and knowing that she loves another man. I was really torn over this development and I am still not certain how I feel about this development. Riaz is a good man and he deserves the best in a mate. While I am sure the Adria is that woman it would have been nice if they had actually been mates. I did love the way Riaz handled Adria. He isn't afraid to be tender and caring but when she gets out of hand he can be ruthless in showing her who is in control. I also loved the glimpses of him taking care of the young pack members and the interaction with his family.Adria has also been hurt. She tried to make a life with a man that wasn't strong enough to keep her in line when needed. So she has avoided any type of relationship afraid of making the wrong choice. The whole idea of mating and that it can’t be put aside and shouldn't be drives the plot of this story. Adria has such a hard time coming to grips with the fact that Riaz really does love her and not the woman that he thinks is his mate. Adira is a dominant female and a very good senior solider she is still a emotionally damage young woman that need the companionship of a male pack member. She is also smart and kind and caring and very compassionate. She is very maternal with the younger pack members and is able to teach them the skills they need to survive. I really liked her. This is a wonderfully complex series that has grown with each book. There are so many plots have to wonder how Ms. Singh keeps track of it all. I mean there are plots inside of plots as well as the individual lives of the mated pairs and those that have not been mated yet. I really hope that Vasic finds a mate soon. The man has some demons that need to be put to rest. I also hope that Aden finds a mate that will love him as well. I am not sure those book would happen soon since both men seem determined to save the Arrows as well as the PsyNet. These books are written so the reader gets a sense of the life inside the packs and the Psy. We get a great idea of what the humans bring to the mix with each new book. It will be interesting to see how the humans fit into the new order that is coming. I look forward to the next book.

I really enjoy this series. This was not my favorite book, and might even be one of my least favorite in this series (but that is being compared to some great books). I just couldn't get into Raiz and Adria. I don't have a problem with broken characters or relationships that start off rocky (come on, i love the Downside Ghists series and you dont get a more rocky start to a realtionship or a more broken character), but these two really never did it for me. I do love the gift that Raiz gives Adria to attempt to get her to stay.

All that being said, the rest of the story is good as always. You get to see more of Hawke and Seina. You also see moe alliances forming and a civil war amongst the Psy. I'm intregied by what will happen in the next book.

Wow things are heading to a big showdown with the Psy fracturing into civil war, and new allies being introduced. Fans of Hawke and Sienna will be very happy as they both feature heavily in this instalment and Adria and Riaz's romance was sizzling!

I cannot wait when the book is published because I haz my theory on the real identity of the Ghost.

Now I am completely up to date with this series and I am keenly anticipating the next one! Whilst I was not overly interested at first in the characters of Adria and Riaz, their combined stories did grow on me and I enjoyed the fact that Singh did not give it the completely sickly sentimental ending that I was expecting. Watching Hawk and Sienna together was a true delight, and the other characters I have become fond of over the last few months well, many of them showed up too. Mercy and Riley were pretty sweet too. Rather makes me want to go back and read the books again (in order) now that I know the characters a bit more. But... 11 books is quite a lot to go through again.

And, given the highly open ending of the book - I guess we can but hope that Kaleb may soon get to become the topic of one of the next books, but knowing Singh, she'll draw it out as long as the Brienna/Hawke one. Actually, I can't help but wonder if we might see a splintering of one of Judd's fellow Arrow's cold demenenour's soon. We can but hope!

It would be nice to have some more of the cats too, the last few have been very wolf-centric. And I'm still hanging out for a predator/non predator relationship (like a wolf/deer) and the Blackwater clan fascinate me. I'm itching to know how many species they can transform into. When I first heard of them - I was thinking seals, dolphins and otters, but I had forgotten that Changelings don't have to shift into mammals...

Overall, this was a fine read, plenty of plot and suspense balanced with the sexy moments and oh, so much to anticipate for what is to come next! Things are certainly getting interesting in the Psy/Changeling world!

It was good, but not quite like the others books. This was more of a beginning to, I hope, the next book. And like other reviewers, I hope it is the character I think it'll be. It was also the side story, continuation, of Hawk and Sienna and how she is assimilating into her new identity. In addition to those two "other" stories happening in the book, you get a little of Alice and trying to "wake" her, and Riley and Mercy and their relationship. Well with all of this going on, you could take out Riaz and Adria and the pure psy background plot, in which they have a small role, and the continued alliances, and get a paranormal romance novella.

It was hard to decide to give this a 3 star or 4 star. If I was going to review it based on the background stories, which there was more of than the main PNR, I would probably have given it 4 stars but... the story is supposed to be Riaz and Adria. I liked their story but was just a little bored of it half way through it. This was the first of the Psy-Changeling that I felt this was about. Maybe it was because I was looking for the side stories involving Vasic, Aden, Judd, and Krychek and in a PNR you usually want to get back to the couple. I did for the first half of the story but after they got together, for me their story became the secondary story.

Nilini Singh does it again with another Psy-Changeling story. This story is about Adria and Riaz, and watching them both try and pull the other out of their haunted past. I really enjoyed this story because of the mating aspect. Every couple that has been made in this series has a very strong personality, how they get together is part of the fun of reading this series. The books have been growing and growing towards something major. I did find myself racking my brain over everything I had read in the past. It has been awhile since I have read the series. I devoured the first 10 book in about a months time.I cannot wait to see what Nalini comes up with next.

WOW! Just wow. I didn't think it was possible to love Nalini's books any more than I already do, but she's managed to up the bar again. This story wasn't full of drama and suspense like KoS, but it was perfect anyway. It was the aftermath after the huge climactic battle in KoS, and we got to see how our favorite changelings pulled together and took care of each other. And I absolutely loved the way Nalini showed us more of Hawk's and Sienna's relationship. It was wonderful to see the way they are growing into a true couple. Anyway, I can't wait for the next installment now.

I seem to be in the minority, but I thought this book was a mess. I could see what the author was trying to do, but by the time I got through the endess circles of Riaz and Adria's rebound romance and the near-constant tangents (that were alternately syrupy visits with past h/h's or not-all-that-ominous visits to potential villains) I neither believed in nor cared about Riaz and Adria's HEA... or this series anymore, to be frank.

2.5 stars. I'm too lazy to write all my thoughts (and there are a LOT of thoughts) on this one. Super brief synopsis:

    1. I liked Adria and Riaz well enough. No problem with how the mating issue was handled, though I'm really sick of the whole mating thing in this series and hope the next book isn't about another changeling couple for that reason.

    2. Too damn much Hawke and Sienna. I'm never going to be okay with them as a couple, so there's that. But the way they were written here just emphasized the age difference and was frankly creepy at times.

    3. Dark River's absence was jarring considering what was going on. Completely inconsistent with the rules Nalini had established throughout the series.

    4. The Psy stuff was the saving grace of this book.

This is getting a bit silly, with the author trying to fit in every single character that has been in the previous 10 books. It got confusing and the story got lost at times. Once it finally got moving it was fun, but it happened in fits and starts.

I actually really liked this book. Unlike KOS - I didn't have really high expectations because I didn't know what to expect.

I thought the way the mate-bond was handled was interesting because it focused on how Riaz had met his "mate" .. and then was introduced to Adria. There was quite a bit of focus on Kaleb Krychek and the two Arrows, Vasic and Aden.. which I absolutely adored! More More More! That part was handled well and left me wanting to know more about those two, and their de facto leader.

Plenty of supporting action by Hawk & Sienna / Riley/Mercy which is always welcomed. All in all, excellent read as it kept me up til the wee hours of the morning. :)

Tangle of Need is the latest in Nalini Singh’s Psi/Changeling series. The series follows a group of humans, changelings, and Psi, the latter of which have advanced psychic powers. This story focuses on two wolf changelings who are emotionally damaged in different ways. Riaz has discovered that his fated mate is a human woman who is already in a happy marriage to another human. The knowledge that he has found his mate but cannot have her is turning him angry and bitter. Adria had a long-term relationship with a less-dominant male shifter who couldn’t accept that he was not the stronger of the pair. Adria eventually ended the relationship for good, but it broke something inside of her. Riaz and Adria have a strong attraction to each other but both seek to avoid it, Riaz out of loyalty to the mate he can never have and Adria out of fear that she can never fully trust herself with another male. Plus, once Adria learns of Riaz’s mate she knows she could never truly have the relationship she secretly wants and deserves with someone who would always feel the bond with another.Overlayed throughout this series is the workings of the Psi Council, and the desire for certain members to take control over the humans and changelings. These counselors have different means to their ends, but all involve violence and the death of innocents to prove their might. One wants to regain control over Sienna Lauren, a rare type of Psi who can wield a deadly power. Control over Sienna could mean control over the council. Unfortunately for the Psi, Sienna is mated to the SnowDancer pack leader, Hawke, who will do anything to see his mate safe. This series is much like other paranormal romance series in that each focuses on a new pair of main characters. Riaz and Adria were both introduced in a previous book; I was pleasantly surprised to see this novel revolved around them. I also really like that Singh continues story lines from previous novels, and pairs you’ve already read about can still figure prominently. The story of Sienna and Hawke was a long time in coming, for example, and I wanted know more about how their relationship continues to form. I was really happy that they were a big part of this book, while not taking away from the budding relationship between Riaz and Adria. I enjoy the interactions that involve shifters much more than the ones that focus purely on the Psi, but Singh had definitely left some threads at the end of this book that have me eager to read the next one in the series.

I love the Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changeling series. Tangle of Need was another great addition to this series. Although there is no major battle in this book, it had me riveted to the pages. Ms. Singh had multiple story lines going throughout and although this was the story of Riaz and Adria it touched on many of the other character story lines as well. I know I mentioned in my notes that I didn’t enjoy the email type writing in the book, I have to admit I kind of skimmed over all the To: Fwd: Fwd: CC: etcetera... so, if it was important it was lost on me. Ultimately Tangle of Need grabbed me, made me feel for the characters, pulled me into the shifter/pys world and touched me emotionally with the struggles Adria had with Riaz’s mating instinct. Great read! Looking forward to what can come of the aquatic shifters!!!

Adria is a soldier and finds herself drawn to Riaz who thought he found his mate, he's also finding her attractive and wondering if he could be lucky twice. You also get to see the other characters who were around before and you can see that things are getting quite complicated for everyone, the psy war is coming, and things will never be the same again. It's starting to get a bit predictable and I think that there may have to be a book where the events take center stage as opposed to the romances, the push and pull of these romances with the occasional contradictions between the possiveness and the skin privelidges is starting to grate on me a little, still entertaining as all get-out.

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Nalini Singh is a master storyteller when it comes to emotions and relationships. A character driven plot that has so many little events happening that leads me to believe that Tangle of Need is a filler book for important events in the future. Opening Sentence: Riaz caught a flash of midnight hair and a long-legged stride and called out, “Indigo!” The Review: Tangle of Need starts two months after the events of Kiss of Snow. Hawke and Sienna are about to celebrate their mating ceremony and all has been quiet on the Psy front. SnowDancer is rebuilding the land that was destroyed by Sienna’s cold fire. Adria has permanently moved back with the SnowDancer pack after her divorce from Martin and Raiz is fighting the call of the lone wolf after finding his mate and being devastated that she is not in love with him. Alice is still in a coma. Ghost still doesn’t understand people’s emotions. Aden, Vasic and councilor Kaleb Krychek’s loyalties are still unknown. Little is seen of Walker and Lara but Judd still plays a huge role in decisions that affect SnowDancer. Adria is pretty depressed after her divorce and the last thing she wants is another relationship. She can’t stand to go through the heartbreak again but her wolf needs the relief of skin contact. She is strangely attracted to Riaz but hides it behind hate and indifference so he will leave her alone. Unfortunately it catches Riaz’ attention, he doesn’t understand why she can hate him so much. Eventually they both relieve the tension built up with some skin contact. Adria is especially skittish of Riaz when she realizes he has already met his mate. How can she give him her heart when his has already been spoken for? She doesn’t want to be second best. Riaz slowly comes to a realization about his feelings towards Adria. He knows what she is doing by not giving herself to him fully while he gradually works to gain her trust and love. Riaz is a strong wolf. He will not treat Adria like her ex-husband did. Their relationship is passionate but it is not as hot as some other relationships in past novels. This novel is character/relationship driven, skipping between the many characters that have been seen in this series so far. There is little in the way of any action, although some Psy’s are being taken out to destroy portions of the PsyNet. An alliance is also being formed with another set of shapeshifters. They said there was a reason why they wanted to form an alliance (Hawke even mentions he finds out why) but I either missed that or it will be revealed in a later book. Tangle of Need felt like a filler book, setting up actions and events that will factor heavily in the next books in the series. They do figure out who is behind the Psy attacks and while one major event does happen near the end of the book, I wasn’t at all surprised when it happened. Overall, Tangle of Need is another stellar novel from Nalini Singh. She always makes me cry from the emotion that she fills her characters with, even when I try not to cry. I’m such a wuss. I would recommend reading this whole series before this novel or at least Kiss of Snow. Notable Scene: His lips smoothed over her neck, his hand gentle on her hip, but she knew she was caught. Turning, she watched him with the wolf’s eyes. His own hair fell over his face, his gaze luminous. This time, those eyes said, he wouldn’t let her run. But she wasn’t a wolf because she gave up. She twisted to the left without warning. He was there almost before she moved, taking her body to the earth. She shivered at the cool kiss of the dew-laden grass, but he didn’t let her up. “I have you.” His voice was gravelly, dark with the determination of the predator inside him. “And I’m keeping you.” She lifted a hand to his cheek, the tenderness within her an endless river. How could she have ever thought to keep any part of her heart safe from him? It was an impossibility. She was caught, well and truly. Tears burned her eyes, trickled down the sides of her face and into her hair. “Shh.” He kissed the salt-laced sadness away, rolling onto his back and taking her with him, one hand cradling the back of her head, the other stroking down the curve of her spine. “Don’t cry, sweetheart.” His gentleness twined another tendril around her heart, until she was so entangled in him, she knew she’d never break free. For the first time in her life, her wolf had chosen. And it had chosen this lone wolf. “You have me,” she whispered. All of me.FTC Advisory: Penguin/Berkley provided me with a copy of Tangle of Need. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

Nalini Singh has turned into an author that I automatically buy when she releases a new book. Her books are just that good. I know that I when I read her books I will get an amazing story, some steamy romance and an overall plot arc that always keeps me coming back. If you have not read this series before though, I will warn you it would be difficult to pick up with this book. There is too much back story and events from previous books tied into this one. It would be confusing to come in mid story. I have read all of them and even I had to use the character guide in the beginning of the book to help jog my memory. So just keep that in mind when you are thinking about reading Tangle of Need. The whole series is amazing anyways, so you might as well just read them all.We pick up in Tangle of Need right where we left off in Kiss of Snow. Riaz is a character I did not notice as much in the past and was not sure what to expect from his book. We already know that he found his mate. She is a human that is happily married to another and he will never be able to claim her for his own. That cannot be an easy concept for a changeling to accept and I thought he would never be able to love another. Understandably, his inability to be with his mate has hardened him and turned him into a bitter man. He comes back to his pack to sulk and be around those who love him. He never expects to start developing feelings for Adria and feels like he is betraying his mate in doing so. The result of all of these complications is a very emotional journey with Riaz that had my heart breaking for him at multiple points.Adria has not had it any easier. She was in a long term relationship with another wolf, but he was less dominant than her and it put a lot of strain on their relationship. He also saved her life once and she let the guilt over that incident keep her in a relationship that was never working. Towards the end the guy she was dating turned into a different person and hurt Adria very deeply. She thinks she can never trust another man and fights her attraction for Riaz at every turn. As she slowly lets her guard down, she realizes that they might be able to heal one another. She thinks:“Maybe, just maybe, two broken people could manage to create something whole.”That thought was much easier said than done though as Riaz and Adria try to navigate through a relationship that neither one is sure they can devote their whole heart to. They slowly form a fragile, tender bond that helps both of them learn that they can love again. I did not go into this book expecting to get so attached to these characters, but my heart could not resist. I took this passionate journey with Riaz and Adria and soaked in every minute I got to spend with them. While Riaz and Adria are the main focus of this book, Hawke and Sienna are prevalent for most of the book as well. I loved reading about the two of them in Kiss of Snow, but in this book we really get to see how they have settled into life now that they have mated. We knew that Sienna would be able to handle Hawke with all of his alpha behavior, but I liked seeing them make every day decisions together and how they interact now that they are devoted to one another. Hawke continues to surprise me with his tenderness toward Sienna. This quote in particular had me swooning.“Satisfied–and very alpha–smile on his face, he placed his hands on her lower back again and they continued down the path. “I’ll allow the pack to monopolize you until midnight”- a low murmur that was a rough stroke over her skin-“then I’ll dance with you until the stars fade and the sun rises.”Hawke and Sienna are not the only couple we get updates on. Many previous couples get their own sections with their point of views and the information on where they are now was welcomed. Since the changeling’s lives are so interconnected, all the couples we have come to know and love wove seamlessly into this storyline. I appreciated Nalini incorporating all of them into this book so we continue to see this world through the lives of all the people in it and not just the main couple of each book.We also get a brief but very interesting look into the BlackSea’s changelings. They are water based creatures and I was curious as to what animals they could change into. Some of the boys exchange ideas about this as well on a trip out there to meet them. Riaz starts the ball rolling:“Dolphin changelings-what do you think?”Riley was the one who replied. “That one, I could give credence to. Any number of humans nonwater-based changelings-even Psy in some cases-report being saved from drowning by dolphins. The survivors always mention how intelligent the creatures seemed.”“That,” Hawke said, “assumes humans, changelings and Psy are the only intelligent species on the planet. Pretty arrogant of us.”“Jellyfish,” Riaz said, after considering the other inhabitants of the sea. “Seriously, there cannot be jellyfish changelings.”Hawke turned to look over his shoulder. What the hell have you been smoking?”I am hoping we will get to see more from them in the future since we just get a quite glimpse of BlackSea in Tangle of Need. The new mythology and changelings being introduced is just another reason why these books are so fantastic. There is always something new to learn about and it keeps me very engaged in the plot.Even though a Psy was not the main interest in this story we still get to see what those devious councilors are busy plotting. I am very interested to see how they Psy come out of this whole situation they have gotten themselves into and who will make it out alive. I have no idea how Nalini keeps all of the information about them and the way they weave through the Net straight, but it is always so fascinating.Overall, this book was just plain outstanding! Tangle of Need was an emotional story that tore at my heartstrings and reaffirmed my faith in Nalini. This is a series that cannot be missed and if you have not read it before I highly suggest that you start now, you will not regret it!

Singh is really good at taking two characters you were kinda lukewarm about in previous books and getting you to fall in love with them during their story. I had liked Riaz in previous books but really didn't see the appeal of Adria. Probably because we mostly saw her in relation to her toxic relationship with her ex-husband. But I ended up really liking her - she's tough, but sensitive. She's afraid she will make the same mistakes she made in her previous relationship. It was just really great watching their relationship develop. We also get to see Hawke and Sienna's relationship continue to develop and grow. It was actually really sweet. Hawke is trying not to be too demanding - too alpha - and works really hard at letting Sienna be who she is, even when that puts her in some very dangerous situations. This book did not have a ton of action, but a lot of set up for the next book, I believe. It was just really great spending some time with the SnowDancer pack.

This eleventh entry into the Psy-Changeling series surprised me. As this one focuses on changelings I was expecting a romance where the two people were destined to be mates as has happened in other entries. Riaz, SnowDancer lieutenant and lone wolf, met his mate only to find out that she was already in love with and married to a human. This really rocked his world and left him running back to the Pack for comfort and thinking that he could never love because his mate was unavailable.Adria was another SnowDancer wolf who had problems of her own. She just ended a relationship that fell about because she was a more dominant wolf than her partner. The relationship had become very painful for both of them. Adria especially feared that she would have the same problem in any future relationship - love turning to resentment.Adria has an instant aversion to Riaz when they meet which Riaz sees as a challenge. They gradually build a relationship but it is filled with torment for both of them with Riaz feeling he is betraying his mate and Adria only wanting to accept a man who will love her totally. We also see Sienna and Hawke deepen their relationship after their mating and learn to compromise with each other. Compromise is not usually a word in an alpha werewolf's vocabulary but he is willing to try for Sienna. It helps that Sienna is an extremly strong Psy with a very dangerous and unusual talent. And, in the background to these romances, the Psy world is being shaken up and is on the verge of a Civil War that will cause thousands of deaths among the Psy and the humans. This was another great episode in this long running series. Being a fan of the series, I can't judge how well the book would stand alone but my opinion is that a new reader would be lost regarding anything but the main romance. Of course, my suggestions is to read the rest of the series. All of the books are filled with wonderful romances between strong people.

Reading Tangle of Need was a good/bad experience. Good in that it was an excellent book and bad in that it's going to be a long wait until the next one comes out. The main part of the book is about Riaz and Adria, both members of the Snow Dancer pack who have incredible chemistry between them. He unfortunately has a mate named Lisette who is married to and in love with another man. Adria has ended a long term relationship with a submissive named Martin that finished badly. Riaz is determined to live life alone and Adria wants to protect her heart at all costs. As the relationship develops between them, both parties have to re-evaluate what they really want in their future and what are they willing to do to make that future happen. Unlike previous couples, this one would seem to be the easiest to get together because they are both packmates and changelings, but the obstacle of the mating bond is a constant sword over both of their heads. One of the nice things in this book is how Ms. Singh has given the reader a look at the relationship between Hawke and Sienna and how it is progressing. The level of understanding between them, the perfectness of their mating is exquisitely portrayed in this book. There are glimpses of other couples in the book as well but Hawke and Sienna really stand out without overshadowing the main couple. So much more about the pack system and how it stands or fails is explained in this book. The tension between the changelings, the Psy and the Pure Psy people is ratcheting up and there is a lovely little cliffhanger of an ending that makes you want to scream with frustration that the next book is not in your hand immediately!
