About this audiobook

Molly Webster has always followed the rules. After an ugly scandal tore apart her childhood and made her the focus of the media's harsh spotlight, she vowed to live an ordinary life. No fame. No impropriety. No pain. Then she meets Zachary Fox, a tattooed bad boy rocker with a voice like whiskey and sin, and a touch that could become an addiction.

Fox promises scorching heat and dangerous pleasure, coaxing Molly to extend their one-night stand into a one-month fling. After that, he'll be gone forever, his life never again intersecting with her own. Sex and sin and sensual indulgence, all with an expiration date. No ties, no regrets. Too late, Molly realizes it isn't only her body that's become addicted to Fox, but her heart...

Oh, that was really a lot of sex. And I liked it, though, I would prefer it without the bdsm part. Also, as always for Nalini Singh, the characters are likeable. Still, I would like more plot.

This is the first book I've read by Nalini Singh and I was definitely surprised because it wasn't what I was expecting from what other readers have said about her work.

There was a hell of a lot of sex and not a lot of plot. In between the sex scenes, I didn't see much progress between the character's relationship and the band's story. I wasn't overall keen on either of the character's personalities and they both seemed a bit bland, even a bit clique. Their story seemed very predictable and nothing out of the ordinary really happens. They do move extremely fast and the Heroine puts up a weak fight but not by much. I wanted to see more from her. She wasn't my cup of tea and came across as a bit weak and naive.

I did skip some of the scenes because they continued to be the same but I enjoyed the rockstar romance and the side characters involved.

Sex scenes ad nauseum if you don't mind. After the first 10, it got boring

Molly Webster has no inclination to involve herself with Zachary Fox. Her childhood was ripped in shreds with her father's scandal, and she knows what the media can do do a person. She has taken years to recover from it. Molly's sister manages the band that Fox is a part of. And when she runs into him, they have a passionate and sizzling one night stand and she never expected Zachary to extend that one night stand to a full month. They propose a plan for her to disguise herself, that won't draw attention, but Zachary starts to show her desire and all she expects is a sensual month of pleasure, but with a expiration date, never knowing of Zachary's true intentions. Zachary, has always wanted Molly, and when he sees her again, he means to show her what he can give her, and when things begin to get complicated, he will need to convince Molly of his true devotion and hope he can win her love and her heart...For years I have come to admire Nalini Singh with her paranormal shifter series, and when I heard she had a new contemporary series coming out, I was unsure what it would be like. Since this story is so different from anything else she has produce. However, lately I have fallen in love with rock band romances, and when I was given the opportunity to read this and review it via netgalley and Nalini Singh, I just jumped at the chance. I probably would read anything that this author would write. Rock Addiction, is way more steamy than I expected, so I would say it leans toward erotica in some elements, but with Singh at the helm, you will have a solid plot to deal with as well. In the beginning of the story its pretty much steamy and HOT sex that will blow your mind and definitely enough heat to fog up all the windows. But from the beginning we see the hero, wanting more. The moment he sees Molly he goes after her and isn't afraid to chase after what he wants and desires. Molly is afraid to have anything with Fox, but she starts to slowly give in and I loved the way these two came together. The characters in the story were charming and I adored all of them. From the main characters, to the fellow band members, and Molly's sister. They all had fun roles and their interaction in the story made the story endearing with each chapter. Zachary, was one hot rock star, he is the lead singer, and has a passion for music and women, but his devotion to Molly was so sweet sometimes. There are many times that he just sizzles with sensuality, but you start to delve deeper into his personality, and he is dedicated and passionate with every aspect in his life and holds nothing back!! Molly, well I loved her from the beginning, there was just something about her character that was like able and I had no issues with. She is the type of heroine you can easily relate with and she has such strength, willing to face public scorn again, and risk getting hurt again so that she can have a chance with Zachary. It was very interesting seeing these two hook up and try to make a relationship work. They come across a few roadblocks, and their connection to each other was intense. This story is guaranteed to leave you breathless and aching for more. BLAZING FROM BEGINNING TO END!

The first in a series of contemporary romances, I read book 2 first and the events in book 1 and 2 overlap but since I knew the couple in this book would be dating it really didn’t ruin the story for me since this was more about how they got together and overcome having a relationship in the spotlight. This was a fun light read and I picked it up because I read her other series I’ll continue with this series for when I want some nice light reading.

Ever since a scandal destroyed her childhood, Molly Webster has avoided the limelight. But when she meets Zachary Fox, lead singer of the hottest rock band on the planet, she cannot deny the intensity of their attraction and agrees to a one night stand. Fox, however, refuses to give up on the sweet, sexy and seductive librarian, and insists on prolonging their relationship indefinitely …

A note on genre: This book seems to have been classified as New Adult. From my understanding, New Adult refers to stories that involve YA themes, such as discovering identity, developing sexuality, family struggles, issues with addiction, etc., with the added inclusion of explicit sex scenes and characters between the ages of 18-25. Rock Addiction simply does not fit these criteria and readers looking for a New Adult book with the abovementioned themes are bound to be disappointed. The book is more in line with adult contemporary romance as the hero and heroine deal with their different romantic expectations and desires.

Now on to the review …

After reading a number of lukewarm reviews, my expectations going in were rather low. Yet, despite some minor issues, the story was actually pleasantly surprising.

Yes, Molly is naïve and easily seduced into making numerous concessions for the sake of her relationship with Fox. Nevertheless, it is obvious that Fox does not take her for granted and is willing to take the necessary steps to ensure that she is comfortable and happy with his rock star lifestyle.

Yes, there is a great deal of sex in this book. But, it is a rock star romance after all, and the scenes are well-written with emphasis placed both on the physical and emotional intimacy between the characters.

Yes, there is nothing very original about the plot or the romance. That said, it is a sweet and heartwarming story with relatively little irritating angst and no annoying misunderstandings.

All in all, the book is well-written (as is to be expected of Nalini Singh); the hero and heroine are likable, and the secondary characters are very appealing. The hints at stories to come are intriguing, especially between Molly's best friend and her enigmatic boss. As office romances are a favorite trope of mine, I am eager to read the next book.

DNF. I wanted to like this novel. Yet, once Fox & Molly had their first argument, about 20% into the novel, it was hard for me to get back into the storyline because of how they tried to bring themselves back together just didn't work for me. I did try to force myself through that part but it just didn't recapture my interest as I had hoped.

Therefore, I didn't like this novel.

Nevertheless, I recommend it to those who like rock star romances.

First of all I must state that this book is very different from this authors normal work, it is a New Adult Romance.

Sex, Sex, Sex, now if you love sex this book has a lot of it in it.

Rock Stars and sexy men what more can you ask for.

I found this to be a good read, could of done with a bit more angst included but it was good all the same.

ROCK ADDICTION was an excellent, spicy romance that I couldn't put down. Molly Webster is determined to live an ordinary life as a librarian. She has overcome the scandal of her teenage years when her politician father was caught in an affair with one of her classmates and when her parents died in a car accident in a car driven by her alcoholic mother. Molly is determined never to be in the public eye again. However, she has long had a crush on rock star Zachary Fox whom she knows only from the gossip magazines she likes to read. When she attends a party with her sister, she catches his eye. He takes one look at her and decides that she is the one for him. He talks her into a one-night stand and then a one month affair but has no intention of ever letting her go.Fox has issues of his own. Childhood abandonment by his mother has warped his view of love and relationships. He has, however, created his own new family with his band mates and a few other select friends. Forming a relationship with Molly won't be at all easy.I liked the way both characters were strong, but damaged, people. I liked the way they gradually built their relationship. I liked the way each of them had built families by choice since their birth families had proved to be so disappointing. I liked the way Molly and Fox stood up to each other to get what they needed.Fans of spicy romance with well-rounded characters will enjoy this story. I'm eager to read the stories of the secondary characters too.

4 ½ of 5 StarsLead singer of The Schoolboy Choir, Zachary Fox, is one of the most famous men in the world. Molly Webster wants to lead a quiet life after her childhood was flashed across the media as a result of her father’s scandal. They were only meant to have a one-night stand but will it be enough.Molly is a likeable character. Understandably, her childhood memories left her scared and wanting to stay out of the spotlight. I admire her for having the courage to push her feelings in order to find happiness.Fox is a drool worthy hero. He is very protective of Molly and those he cares for. He also had a tough childhood making him a perfect match for Molly.I liked that the book explored how people could be judgmental and mean to stars by comments they post on websites. I also have to mention that ultimately, The Schoolboy Choir has the best fans when it comes to loyalty to the band. The characters are very well developed leaving me wanting to continue reading the series to discover more about the other band mates and their friends. The novel was very well-written and flowed well. This is one of those books that is very hard to put down because it keeps you engrossed. I am definitely glad I read Rock Addiction and will happily want to continue the Rock Kiss Series. Nalini Singh is well known for her paranormal romance (PNR) Psy-Changeling and Guild Hunter's series. With a combined over 345,000 ratings on Goodreads averaging a 4.19 rating, it's safe to say that Nalini Singh is amongst one of today's best liked PNR writers. Joining the recent new trend towards diversification away from relying solely on PNR, Ms. Singh now joins other famous PNR writers, like Kresley Cole, who have recently released contemporary romance books. In this case, Ms. Singh has picked one of romance readers' favorite types, a hot rock 'n' roll love story! Although this book is labeled as a contemporary romance, it really has much more of a new adult (NA) feel to it. In addition, to the plentiful, hot, steamy scenes, Rock Addiction also fits the common NA theme of self-discovery. Both the hero and heroine must learn to cope with past issues prior to learning how to truly love. As a consequence, this is a book particularly suited for readers that enjoy this sub-genre.Growing up in a political family, Molly Webster was used to the media spotlight, until a devastating scandal taught her it's ugly side. After her horrifying experience, spurred by her family's addiction obsessed mistakes, she has made it her life's mission to: (1) avoid addictions of any types and (2) lead a life of obscurity. So imagine her surprise when one of the most famous rock stars, Zachary Fox, takes notice of her. Fox, is one of her sister's biggest clients (her sister Thea is a publicist). Expecting nothing more than an anonymous, one-night stand, Molly succumbs to Fox's sexy, muscled, tattooed and pierced irresistible package. When Fox tells her he wants more, she instantly gets overwhelmed. So he proposes a limited arrangement: a one month fling, with no public outings where they can be recognized. Even as he proposes the arrangement, Fox knows that one month with Molly will never be enough. Fox, however, figures that by the time his vacation in New Zealand, Molly's hometown, is up; she too will be begging for more. But Fox is unprepared for the intensity of Molly's beliefs. Moreover, even if she can overcome her demons, being the lover of a rock star has its own challenges. Then there is also his own scarred past which presents its own associations where love is concerned. Can a HEA possibly be in the stars for this couple?I do have to say that it took me a while to get into this story. The romance, particularly Fox's strong conviction that Molly was the girl for him, just seemed a little too instantaneous. Once I worked through that, however, I did really enjoy this story, especially Fox's character. He's the perfect alpha, sexy protective type, the type of hero that I love the best. The steamy scenes were also appreciated, especially when Fox let his dominant side take over. All in all, Rock Addiction is a decent start to a new rock group based, contemporary romance series. The glimpses of some of the other band members, including David, Fox's band's drummer, and Thea (Molly's publicist, sister), including their numerous memos to one another, documenting the pros and cons to starting a relationship, promises to be an interesting start to the next book in this Rock Kiss series.

This book is split into two parts (but both included - thankfully!) Part one has a little angst, part two is more of a look at how things are going after part one. This book is predictable, typical rock star romance but still a decent/good read. (Plenty of heat, a little more story would have been nice.) I received this book in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley.
