About this audiobook

Seven years ago, Lily Travis was only too glad to see her hometown of Petal, Georgia, in her rearview mirror. Thanks to her father running off with a twenty-year-old, though, here she is, trying to pick up the pieces. First order of business: meet with her brother's teacher in a quest to pull his grades out of a downward spiral.

Nathan Murphy is pretty much resigned to his bachelor status-until he looks up from his desk to see an all-grown-up Lily walking into his classroom. Of all the women who turned out to be totally wrong for him, she's the only one who felt right. At least until his foolish, immature mistake drove her away.

Lily has to admit that time has been more than kind to gorgeous, sexy Nathan. Except there's no room on her full plate for another complication. Especially with a man who broke her heart once before.

With a little help from his friends, Nathan has a plan to rekindle the flame. It isn't long before they're burning up the sheets. Winning her heart? That's another matter.

This is my second Lauren Dane book. The first was Giving Chase, which was a DNF (the atrocious writing and clunky dialogue made it unreadable). Obviously, Dane's writing skill as improved because this was much more appealing despite the odd editing issue.

Love the small town atmosphere and the sense of family as if everyone has a stake in the outcome of Nathan and Lily's romance.

Lily's trials and tribulations with her family made for entertaining reading, especially when she gives them what for. The romance is sweet but nothing special probably because Nathan is a rather ho-hum hero and the chemistry with Lily is barely there.

Thankfully, the cheating aspects of the story are minor and mainly relate to some stupid actions on Nathan's part when he and Lily were on a break.

All in all, not a bad read and I might read another Lauren Dane book sometime but she is not a must buy author.

It was fun returning to the town of Petal and seeing the Chases again. I was worried they would overwhelm the story, but Dane did a good job of keeping them in the background and focusing on the main protagonists.

This was a sweet reunited lovers story. I liked that both characters had grown and changed from when they were together in college. Their love story was overshadowed a bit by the drama in the heroine's life. I wish there had been just a bit more page time with them reconnecting.

    Still, a very satisfying read.

Lily returns to Petal to save her brother from the downward slope his live was taking after father dumped mother for a 20 year old. Mother is now a heavy drinker and popping pills in the after math.

Nathan was Chris's high school teacher and meets up with Lily there after he split with her 7 years ago. The flame is reignighted. That is about it..

School ends, he proposes, Chris and mom on the road to recovery. HEA

Once and Again is a fairly straightforward contemporary romance. Lily has left her life in Macon and returned to her hometown of Petal in order to take over the rearing of her younger brother. Her mother is mired in an addiction that was exasperated by her marriage falling apart. And to top things off, her brother’s English teacher is the man who broke her heart 7 years ago. This book has themes of forgiveness and learning how to move forward in your life. It also has a fair bit of steamy sex, so buyer beware. I actually think there could have been a bit more adversity in Nathan and Lily’s relationship – she conceded to his advances rather quickly, and I expected their ride to be a little more bumpy. It’s like the book was missing its third act. But overall, I enjoyed it and will be looking for more romances by this author.

After reading all four of the Chase Brothers books I was really looking forward to this one. I enjoyed this book very much, however this was different from Ms. Dane's Chase brother series in that this book really focused on Lily not as much on Nathan. I really liked the interactions between Lily and Nathan and the love scenes were as hot as I have come to expect from Ms. Dane. As much as I liked the interactions, they were not as frequent as one would expect from a love story. Ms. Dane's depiction of the relationship between Lily and Nathan was wonderful when it actually happened and you did fully expect they would get together at the end, but I would have liked to spend more time with them than with Lily & Her brother, Lily and her Mother and Lily and her Sister. Another enjoyable quick read from Ms. Dane.
