About this audiobook

It's been twelve years since Tru Bennett last saw Jake Wethers, her
former best friend and boy she once loved. Jake Wethers, sexy, tattooed
and deliciously bad lead singer, and brains behind The Mighty Storm, one
of biggest bands in the world, left Tru with a broken heart when he
moved from England to America with his family when they were both
fourteen. Sent to interview Jake for her music column by the magazine
she works for, they are both unprepared for the sparks that fly the
instant they reconnect. Only, there's a complication to their instant
feelings for one another-Will, Tru's boyfriend of two years. Then
Jake makes Tru a job offer she can't refuse-travelling the world with
him and his band. But taking the job means leaving Will behind, and
being on the road with the band means spending an inordinate amount of
time with Jake. Is Tru strong enough to resist the delectable bad boy
who once held her heart so completely, or will she willingly risk it all
for one night with the world's most notorious womanizer?

Tru Bennett has been dating Will for two years. Jake Wethers is her childhood bestfriend but now the leader of a world famous band. Will he remember her when she comes to interview him for the magazine she works for?

True love and the problems of loving someone so in the public eye. Oh yes, and what to do about Will?

The book was a page turner. I enjoyed the characters built by the author and the steamy romance of the two. The ending was realistic and left a slight feeling of worry for the future.

This relationship dynamic isn't my cup of tea, but 50 Shades fans may enjoy. Though Tru isn't a naive virgin, in order to have the story told from her perspective but still have relationship tension, the author chose to have Tru be pretty clueless at times. Jake is broken and flawed, and doesn't get page time from his perspective in the narrative, but the extra content from his perspective shows that I wasn't missing much. This book's Happily-Ever-After feels more like a Good-Luck.

“When we’re good, we’re great. Jake. But when we’re bad, we’re fucking horrendous.”Being the romance lover I am a sucker for happy ending, but the pristine untainted view of love is not always realistic. Romance authors typically show this love without all of the gray areas. Tru and Jake’s portrays soul mates with all of their glory. Just like the quote above this perfectly depicts this story in its entirety. I sped though this story, so quickly I was astounded to find myself at the end. Jake is broken and scarred from a life on the road, but when you include Tru he is the most amazing character full of depth and emotion. A known womanizer it is hard for a young woman, even long time best friend, to accept that for her things will be different. As the story twists and turns readers will ride the highs, and trudge through the lows effortlessly. The two have an explosive chemistry, and it seems inevitable that so much power will seek an outlet. Ultimately, Towle will offer your happy ever after, but it will not be without the visible scars. The reality of this story is that true love can overcome, but it is not always with perfection. This is the second novel that I have read recently by this author, and she quickly taking her place among my favorites. Her writing style is fast and intense that guarantees devotion to the very last page. I anxiously await more to come. ~BookWhisperer Reviewer JO~
