      This was a fun read, reminiscent of the magic of Time Bandits, Harry Potter and Peter Pan mixed into one, with a little of the Never Ending Story thrown in for good measure. I know the book had to end, but I was sad, and I look forward to reading more to find out what happens to all of the characters., especially Fin and Marrill.

      The story alternated from chapter to chapter at first until the lives of the characters crash into each other. Magic and fantasy combine with a bit of realism and the result was a good mix of whimsy, brevity and adventure. I love the idea of the Pirate Stream and how it wove through the story - don't touch the water because the magic will be too strong! A definite fun read for higher elementary and middle readers, I would recommend to children (and adults) who love fantasy.

      This was a great adventure story. The world building was pretty amazing and so creative. I really liked Finn and Marrill, and I'm dying to know more about Coll. Can't wait for the next one.

      I got a copy of this book to review through NetGalley. This was an absolutely wonderful middle grade fantasy. It was so creative and full of a lot of adventure and magic. This is the first book in a series. Master Thief Fin is desperate to find his mother and he thinks The Map the Everywhere might be able to help him. No one ever remembers Fin, it is like a strange magical power he has, that is until he meets Marrill. Marrill is a girl from our world who happens upon a strange ship stranded in a parking lot. When she goes on the ship, she is pulled into the Pirate Stream. The Pirate Stream is a magical waterway that connects all worlds ever created. Now Marrill is lost on the Pirate Stream and finding the Map to Everywhere is the only way to find her way home.I loved this magical fantasy. It's very creative, fast-paced, and full of wonderful magic and easy to engage with characters.Fin, with his problem of never being remembered by anyone, was a crazily intriguing character. Imagine never having anyone remember you? Every time you meet them is the first time. Fin has learned how to use this to his advantage but it is a lonely existence.Marrill is just looking for her escaped cat and a way to help her sick mother. She ends up in a crazy world with these crazy people. She actually handles it all pretty well. Strangely she can remember Fin just fine and through her Fin is finally able to become part of something.They travel on a magical ship through a stream of magic. They explore amazing magical lands and have amazing adventures. The whole time they are looking for the parts to the Map to Everywhere. This was a bit abstract but also very creative and intriguing. The different parts to the Map to Everywhere are alive and need to be put together in order to work. It was just so interesting and so fun to read about.Overall this was a fantastic read. I really enjoyed the magical settings, the adventure, the crazy idea of a living map, and the intriguing characters. I highly recommend this to those who love adventure fantasy it was a creative and highly entertaining read. This book is also great for all ages!

      One moment Marrill is in an empty parking lot in hot, dry Arizona and the next, she is on a ship full of magical things on the Pirate Stream and unable to get back home. Finn is a Master Thief with a unique characteristic...no one can ever remember him. That can come in handy when you are a thief, but sad, too. Finn and Marilee end up on the ship together. Finn is searching for his mother and Marrill wants to get back home to her parents. Along the way, they search for pieces of a map to guide them and fight against the evil Serth and the wizard on the Iron Ship. I particularly liked the character of Finn and his friendship with Marrill, the only person who always remembered him. The story is fairly complex and would be best for older children.

      This is a fantasy novel that is very appropriate for 6th graders. Marrill finds herself having to live in Phoenix, Arizona, after traveling the world having adventures with her parents. Her mom is sick and they need to stay for her to get treatment. While walking with the cat, a huge ship appears called the Kraken. No longer is she in Arizona, but she is getting on board a ship to follow the Pirate Stream.Fin is forgettable. Seriously, no one remembers him after meeting him. It’s a lonely life, but it’s very helpful when one is a thief. His mother always said she would return for him, but she never has. Mysteriously, he receives a letter from someone who remembers him and wants him to steal for him. When he accomplishes the feat, Fin discovers an evil wizard who brings sadness hired him. He runs. Marrill and Fin meet when she is thrown through the air in a gust of wind and lost from the Kraken and Fin is chased by pirates under the evil wizard’s control. They join forces with a good wizard and the captain of the Kraken to keep the evil wizard from finding the Map to Everywhere. If he puts the map together, the world will be destroyed. Marrill and Fin want the map because it can find his mother and it can get Marrill home.The novel is one big adventure.
