About this audiobook

The final e-novella in a thrilling mini-series about a psychic medium, from award-winning and New York Times bestselling author Lisa Unger.

When Eloise’s granddaughter, twenty-year-old Finley, comes to live with her, Eloise’s abilities start to change—things seem to be getting easier. Her load is lighter, and rather than chasing down people she needs, they are coming to her. She teams up with detective Jones Cooper to help a desperate father bring his daughter’s killer to justice. Meanwhile, Finley, who is developing gifts of her own, has bigger problems than she’s willing to admit. Will Eloise help Finley and others see the difference between justice and revenge, or will things spiral out of control first?

Returning to the psychological suspense that earned Lisa Unger such critical acclaim for Beautiful Lies and In the Blood, The Three Sisters is the third and final part in a gripping series from “an accomplished pro” (Kirkus Reviews).

The Three Sisters by Lisa Unger is the third and last book in The Whispers trilogy. Finley, Eloise’s granddaughter, has moved in with her grandmother and is going to college. Finley has inherited psychic abilities but has much more power than Eloise. But Finley is not as calm and capable as she looks on the surface. Eloise is having an easier time managing her visions, but she needs to make a decision about her personal life. Eloise’s partner and beau, Ray, is in San Francisco with his children. He wants to move there permanently and Eloise to join him. While Ray is away, Eloise is working with detective, Jonas Cooper to find the killer of a man’s daughter. I enjoyed this book (as well as the other two books in the series), but I was left with many unanswered questions. It just felt like the book was not finished or incomplete. Be prepared to enjoy The Whisper trilogy, but when you are done reading you will but what about . . . Happy Reading! I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley/Publisher in exchange for an honest review.

A special thank you to Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Lisa Unger returns for the finale in the gripping and spellbinding, The Whispers Series, with three short captivating novellas. Eloise and her family learns to deal with their special psychic abilities, covering a span of thirty years ending with THE THREE SISTERS. If you have not read this series, would recommend reading them in order, to learn about the history of Eloise and her struggles, as we anxiously await the upcoming CRAZY LOVE YOU (preview included), coming Feb 10, 2015. Hoping I can get my hands on an ARC as not sure I can wait, as dying to know find out about Priss and Fatboy—patience is not one of my strong virtues. Whispers #1 THE WHISPERS Eloise Montgomery discovers her amazing gift in the wake of tragedy, an accident taking the lives of her husband and oldest daughter. She and her younger daughter try to move forward, as she learns to deal with this complex gift, using it to help save lost women and girls. Whispers #2 THE BURNING GIRL Ten years after Eloise discovers psychic abilities, she is a full-fledged working psychic, with a partner and a business. She discovers some disturbing things: secrets about her genealogy that are, perhaps, best left in the past and not all her visitors want to be helped. Whispers #3 THE THREE SISTERS At the end of The Burning Girl, Eloise discovers her granddaughter, Finley has powers. Presently, twenty-year old Finley comes to live with Eloise. (Much to Eloise’s daughter Amanda’s controlling displeasure). There is much drama and suspense in Hollows in this fast-paced, action filled e-short story: • FINLEY :Eloise’s granddaughter is now living with her. A pre-med student planning to go on for her doctorate in psychiatry, attending Sacred Heart College, a small private university on the outskirts of Hollows. She is a troubled girl and quite rebellious, with her tattoos, motorcycle, and stubborn streak. Eloise wants to protect her as she realizes her psychic gift can be dangerous, if not controlled, and at the moment, she feels Finley is out of control (she is also quite sassy and witty). Finley likes the motorcycle as a way to drown out all the voices and whispers. However, tight controls do not always work with Finley. Amanda had worked hard to keep Finley away from the Hollows, as well as trying to keep her distance from Eloise’s situation. • THE THREE SISTERS: Sarah, Abigail, and Patience Good- Eloise’s distant relatives on her mother’s side. Each had their own personalities and used their gifts different. They were taught to hide their powers. They were the daughters of the Reverend Good, and they lived in The Hollows in the late 1600s and three witches burned at the stake. How are they connected to the present? • A WOMAN IN BLACK: After seeing a mysterious woman in black appearing in her house, about the same time as Finley’s arrival. Eloise wonders if there is a connection with the woman and the Three Sisters. After seeing their photograph at the historical society, they appear to have a dark and powerful energy, and something is familiar about the woman in black in her house. Are they connected and how? • A DEAD GIRL: Eloise sees a dead girl on her porch - a beautiful girl with a half heart locket. How did she die? She teams up with detective Jones Cooper to help a desperate father bring his daughter’s killer to justice. However, was this a suicide or a murder? Her modeling career, her family, her boyfriend? THE THREE SISTERS is my favorite of the three; a multi-layered story with gripping narrative, where all three elements fit together for an explosive finale of control, revenge, love, and forgiveness. No one can control this life and each character learns there are only two choices: to act out of fear, seeking justice or revenue for the wrongs you perceive—or act out of love. Love is wonderful and painful at the same time. The relation to the garden weeds with life, was a beautiful analogy, what is to say that every unwanted thing left to its own devices reveals itself as something valuable? You root for Eloise, a complex, and unforgettable heroine, as she struggles to manage her psychic abilities and use it to help other women. This series happened to be first of Lisa Unger and looking forward to many more. Impressive writing style (what a vivid imagination), and dying to read CRAZY LOVE YOU! In CRAZY LOVE YOU, Unger will take us back to The Hollows, a creepy town about 100 miles from New York City, for a tale of love gone awry where we hear more from Ian Paine and his comic series: Fatboy and Priss – the nerdy outcast and his gorgeous red-haired avenger; however, now that he has fallen in love with Megan, and the editor tells him it is time to kill off the characters, will Priss stand for this? Is she real or a manifestation of a young man trying to hide his dark family secrets? OK, guys take this time to buy and read this extraordinary thriller suspense series, while you get geared up for her next winner! By the way, I also purchased the audiobook, as was traveling, narrated by January LaVoy, delivering an outstanding performance. I better stop writing as will be accused of writing a review longer than the novella!
